I did not achieve any kind of lucidity, and my naptime dreams weren't very memorable. (i had no expectations either way regarding this).
Possible suggestions: It may be useful after your first speaking ends, to insert several hours of either silence or minimal white noise. Following this, during the early morning hours...say after hour 6 of sleep...begin by speaking words like "You are dreaming, and you are awake". The theory being, that those words (if delivered in the right way, frequency, and time) will present dream cues to the dreamer.
OR, maybe you could go through another different session of hypnosis while the listener is asleep. i have no idea if this would or could work.
Dream cues do work though, a full bladder will give the dreamer dreams about water or swimming or having to pee for instance.
Something key here though when speaking to the dreamer...it needs to be loud and forceful enough to penetrate sleep, without being so forceful it brings on full alertness. I think speaking soft here would be a mistake, it should be firm but quiet and the words should be spoken somewhat rapidly with a couple minute pause in between...then repeat.
Thank you for your very detailed reply, I can see exactly whats happening now! The hypnosis works, which is great. But the actual lucidity part of the MP3s only works if you subconsciously know your in a dream (meaning a first-timer DILD would be a great subject for this!). I have thought about this for a while now, and up until I read your post, I was stuck; But your post about the dream-suggestions made me remember that I have done this before! So I will record(when I can) a sleep-induced hypnosis tape, and put it up here; along with instructions. Surprisingly, it does help to speak softly, but you have to have it voice-level and it has to be coming from somewhere in your room, not your head for it to work; but then again, that is proper full-on hypnosis, so anyway, I'll post it here when its made. And as always, thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going!
