I'd like to start out by saying that I believe lucid dreaming has much more practical uses than fulfilling sexual fantasies, flying around, or having fun. While these things are entertaining, they aren't using the dream's full potential.
When you are dreaming, specifically when lucid, you have the opportunity to directly access the hidden parts of your brain. I have personally engaged in conversation with my subconscious, having it reveal many things about myself. However, I have never asked it to do anything.
I'd like for a few people to do some specific tasks for me while lucid.
Tasks:
1 - Find any DC and ask it to remind you every now and then to remind you that you're dreaming. Make sure that the DC acknowledges and accepts your request. If it says no, move on to another DC. If you notice that the DC isn't helping you, go up to another one and ask for help, or reprimand the DC for not obeying your orders in the dream.
2 - After task 1, ask to be brought to your subconscious. It is easiest to talk to if your subconscious is in human form, so if it's not then ask it to transform into one. It also help if your subconscious takes the form of yourself.
3 - While in conversation with your subconscious, tell it to make you become lucid in the majority of your dreams. Again, make sure that it acknowledges you as the dreamer and that it is your subconscious. Make sure before you walk away from it that it accepts this request. A few moments later, ask it to repeat what you asked it to do. If it won't or can't do that, go back to task 2.
4 - After waking up from talking to your subconscious, immediately record your dream and continue your regular night's sleep. Then reply the next day with the details of your encounter.
5 - After one night of sleep the next day, see if your subconscious actually helps you out any. If not, report back. Also, if you become lucid, reprimand your subconscious for not obeying orders.
The purpose of this experiment is to see just how much control over the subconscious we can actually have. If we can make it remind us to become lucid, then we can potentially ask it to do other things such as unlock learning and memory capacity, mastering the piano, and other things before thought impossible.
Please comment if interested. I'd like to hear your results.
