The last few nights have been with no success, because I always lose conciousness while I'm trying to WILD! Any tips? (I also pair WILD with WBTB) |

Well, I attempted my first WBTB last night, and I found that counting your breaths to 10, then restarting is not only relaxing, but can help to keep your mind awake as you enter SP. I entered, and had a short, but successful lucid dream. The great thing about this is your mind is kept awake, but you can still let your mind sort of wander. Just be prepared to take control when you start to enter the dream. |
|
Alright, good idea! How long did it take you to enter SP, Typho? |

Don't actively try to keep yourself from falling asleep. You need to fall asleep for this to work. You just need to keep your mind busy while it happens. I normally need something a bit more engaging than counting. If I am counting my breaths, I like to add a visual component, like numbers turning over on a clock. |
|
What I tried is: when counting numbers; I would focus on a body part. For example: Breath one, focus on feet. Breath two, focus on forelegs, etc. |

It can be tricky to find something that works for you. Everybody is a bit different. I don't like to focus on my body when I'm trying to WILD, because it keeps me tied to my physical body. I normally have to ignore my body to the point where I forget all about it. Here are a few things you can try: |
|
I actually did this last night to put myself in trance to make auto-suggestion more effective for MILDing and it worked really well, better than any other technique for relaxation I've tried. So I'm definitely gonna check this out for WILDing tonight. |

Thanks for the ideas. I may try the infinite ladder; because i think it will give me a better mindset about leaving my body. |

Well I first took a few very deep breaths, in through the nose and out of the mouth, making myself feel like I was sinking into bed with each exhale. Next I just took slow deep breaths in and out of my nose, visualising that I was breathing in blue light/energy (relaxation) and breathing out black light (tension), After awhile I started a visualisation of descending stairs as Robot Vutler described. |
