Yes I can..did last night but after 5 mins of being in SP it went..I didn't intend on doing a WILD, I was just on my side and going to sleep for the first time, had been there a while as I wasn't nodding off and SP kicked in, shame it didn't get full , never mind. But yes..i usually WILD on my side

Yep, I get 99% of my SP episodes while on my side. It's more about how comfortable you are than anything else; for instance, sleeping on your back is supposedly the best for SP, but I've never once gotten it like that because I'm not comfortable on my back.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yes, I attempt most of my WILDs while on my side.
Having done both I find that lying flat on my back is rather uncomfortable, making it more difficult to enter SP.
However when doing so, for some reason the effects associated with SP seem to feel much more intense.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

I prefer to WILD on my back, but I've done it on the side a couple of times.

I need to lie on my back or I just fall asleep. I always use a second cushion so my head is bit higher and pay attention that my neck can relax.

It's true they say that lying on your back is better for SP, however its not true for everybody. Specifically for WILD'ing, I would lay in a position that you naturally fall asleep in, but this time remain aware. And to anwer your original question, my longest and most recent WILDS have been on my side

I completely agree, the vibrations I feel are much less intense on my side!

I used to try to WILD on my back when I was a teenager even without knowing any theories about it. I remember spending a long time and going through the strange sensations of the transition stages. Now I only try on my right side and I feel I go through the stages a lot faster and more comfortably than on my back.

And alot of the guides stress that it is easier, the reason why Im doing this poll is to see if it is easier to do it on your side, which for me is more comfortable.

I allways WILD on my side, but it's from awakenings so maybe that doesn't count.

I mean that it's not Traditional WILD where I WBTB first then lay still and all that. I am using my awakenings (from an alarm that I use) so on those awakenings I DEILD, which is a way of WILDING. And most of the time I am laying on my side.

Yes, I can but I prefer to WILD on my back. Mostly, because it is more comfortable for me.

I've never been able to WILD on my side. On my back I can SP but not much further, and on my side I just fall asleep! I usually get out of bed and sit in the recliner, and can WILD most of the time from there. Perhaps different surroundings, perhaps I'm more comfortable.

Sleeping on your back does not increase your chance of WILDing. It's all about how you can get the most comfort possible.

About 90% of my WILDs have been on my side. Some have been on my back, and a few on my stomach. Whichever position you normally sleep in is probably the best position to WILD in.

Wow, this thread was so helpful to me. I thought it was impossible to WILD on your side, so I kept trying on my back even though I can never sleep that way. Thanks Arch!

Pretty much any morning several times, but not as movie script-like as the Dream induced. But then I spend 99% of my dreaming time on my side. Left and right about =. A reality check I have is to see if I can see my LED clock and tell the time, and a maybe pre-reality check is to realize which side I am sleeping on at the time. I can do the pre-check without needing to wake up, but if I do look at the clock and see the time,,, well that is actually a long story. I'll fully wake up, deduce how much longer I can sleep or want to sleep, then I can go back into Wilds, and when I do, I'll often go in and out of Lucidity, and sometimes in-between.
