      In FULL sleep paralysis. Help

I woke up at 4:00 Am the first thing i did when i woke up was to try to remember a dream that i had. then suddeny i thought that i can WILD.

I closed my eyes immediately after i realized this and stayed still. after 2 mins SP started
      kicking in

Within 3 more min's i guess i was in FULL sleep paralysis. I think i felt some itch on my leg but when i imagined it away, it stopped.

And now i just lay there .. trying to keep my head clear of any scary thoughts. i did this by imagining of walking on a beach with my crush. (it made all the scary thoughts go away)

SO, 10 mins passed by, nothing happened. no hallucinations. no sounds. no imagery
just elevated heart beat, i know i was in REM sleep. after a while my head started hurting so i woke myself up...... i dont regret this , idk why. ( It took a min for all of my body to become normal, but my right hand took a lot of time, it felt as if it was stuck underground and like i had six fingers.

Can anyone explain why after full sp my brain didnt project a dream?

If you were in sleep paralysis, you would have entered a WILD within 10 seconds. It sounds impossible to be in REM sleep/SP for several minutes without starting to dream.

What I meant to say was, that you weren't in sleep paralysis. Once you become sleep paralysed, you'll quickly transition into a WILD (like I said ). If the transition fails, the SP simply goes away after a few seconds (however, it can return multiple times until you manage to enter a dream). Are you really sure that you were in sleep paralysis?

Perhaps you weren't relaxed as you seem to be repressing these scary thoughts with your own thoughts and your heart was beating too fast. Usually the hallucinations or imagery will appear if you allow your mind to be clear. Just embrace these hallucinations or scary thoughts as they aren't real and you might expect better results

Actually, it's common for people to believe that they're in sleep paralysis, when they're not.

I've seen many here on Dream Views wondering how to have a WILD from SP. They say that they reached SP, and then lied still for a long time without having a WILD. In fact, they never reached SP in the first place. They just think they did, and that's why they can't enter a dream from what they (falsely) believe to be SP. Once they become sleep paralysed for real, they can easily have a WILD from SP in a matter of seconds after the SP sets in.

What makes you absolutely sure that you were in sleep paralysis?

It's possible. I was in SP once for whole 2 minutes or so. Althrough it's true that my eyes were open and i intentionally made it last longer... But i can imagine it happening accidently to someone...
      I realize that i'm dreaming.

well, ive had about 10 attempts at wilding so far and ive experienced sleep paralysis in all of them.
sometimes only my hand would be paralyzed (afternoon naps) and i would feel like im being lifted.
sometimes every part of my body except my legs. But this time, at 4:30 AM, my whole body became paralyzed in no time. and i started to feel my eyes move rapidly. thats how i know i was in rem sleep..

I agree with OneiroMoon. A common problem with new WILDers is they misdiagnose their own sleep paralysis. Hypnagogic Hallucinations can illicit extremely weird thoughts and feelings before you actually reach paralysis. When you said that you've experienced sleep paralysis every single time it leads me to believe you aren't reaching sleep paralysis at all. Next time it happens try to move your arm or get out of bed. I imagine you'll find your arm moves quite easily and that you haven't gone as deep as you think you have.

Hey there, I have to also agree with oneiroMoon. With SP it's not just a matter of being paralysed. I could lie down and after a short while not feel my body and if I was new to ths or not very experienced with WILD's I would think great I'm in SP. do you get that rush associated with SP? I won't say much more because oneiroMoon has already stated my thoughts in her own thoughts

By paralysis, do you mean that you were feeling numb? When I'm WILDing, I can't feel my body after a while. Many people think is sleep paralysis, but it isn't.

You can experience other strange sensations when trying to WILD, such as the feeling of sinking down and becoming flat, or being lifted, as you said. I've never experienced any of this during SP. Instead, I feel strong vibrations in my whole body and hear strange sounds. If I pay too much attention to these things, the paralysis goes away. If I remain calm and ignore the SP, I transition into a WILD.

Could you still move when you were in SP? In SP, you can't move at all until the paralysis disappears (it goes away after 5-10 seconds if you try to move too much). When you're just numb, it will feel slightly difficult, but you can move immediately if you want.

The reason to why the eyes are moving during REM sleep is because the eyes don't get paralysed. Therefore, they can still move during REM and react to what you're seeing in the dream. My eyes have flickered during WILD attempts, but never while in sleep paralysis.

      ----------------------------------------------------------
If you were in sleep paralysis, I can't really give an answer to why you were unable to dream. When I have trouble starting to dream from SP, I visualise my room until it turns into a dream. That's practically what you did when you imagined the beach, so it should have worked. But, it sounds like you may be close, so keep trying!
