The few times it happen to me was in fact when waking up from a dream.
I was just asking in case it happened during a WILD attempt. Simply didn't want to miss a chance for lucidity.
It's also possible to get SP when waking up. But this happens only 1-2 in a lifetime. It's when something goes wrong, and our body fails to turn SP off, as we stop dreaming.
Normally, when you wake up, no matter when or how suddenly, you wake up and able to move. That's why SP is a disorder. Something not normally happening.
Also, we are talking about paralysis, when you can't move, no matter what.
Sensations and hallucinations we can experience when falling asleep or waking up, are not SP. But we can notice them, because we are lucid dreamers. We train ourselves to notice the falling asleep process, when normally we would not notice it.
