I would help you out if I could but I have yet to experience a WILD myself. But from what I have read on here not everyone has them. Hope that helped a little. |

Honestly, the thought of any types of hallucinations scare the living excrement out of me, let alone ones that I'll be experiencing during sleep paralysis. To any WILD things out there, how bad are hypnogogic hallucinations? I've read about what they are, but I've also read about spiders, and the facts about spiders never helped me to get over my fear of them. |

Worst that happens to me is colours, patterns and shapes. If I start seeing things I freak out pretty bad. Alone the thought of having my perception clouded gives me the shivers. After all, what else to we have to be able to define what is real? |

Wouldn't worry about it, kookyinc. Some people don't even notice or remember the hallucinations. The most common one I get is just the feeling of moving/floating/twirling. Just ride it out for a couple of minutes. You can also direct it a bit if you like. Say you're worried about something scary happening in your HHs. Tell yourself something (non-scary) is going to happen, like, "now the bed is going to turn upside down", and chances are, you'll feel it happening. Directing it is a good way to keep your focus on what you want to feel happening during HH, rather than on something scary which may or may not happen. |
|
Just like J.D said, if you go into HH thinking that it'll be bad, it'll be bad. Normally visual hallucinations are rare but some people have reported seeing some of the most horrific things ever during SP though. Emotions are naturally amplified during sleep and when your in the HH phase your already at the end of the NREM deep sleep phases. But i dont remember them most of the time, just reassure yourself, you'll know it when they come. |

I get those hallucinations all the time actually, even when totally awake, just a bunch of morphing colored geometric patterns that breathe and make objects seem less static, its cool actually...don't be afraid of those. |

I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.
Lol exploding head syndrome. Don't wory your head will only blow up. No jk. Thats happend to me befor. Just a loud sudden noise and it makes my heart rate go up realy fast. Not to bad. |

I could never WILD and there are much less scary ways to LD if you're interested. I just had another LD last night from a reality check i did in my dream. Since WILDing is very hard for me, that's what I do. No halucinations, and not hard. This is what I reccommend for you! |

This makes me really sad. I know it is tough for some people but don't give up if you haven't tried! One of the coolest experiences that I've had LDing to date was my first successful WILD. I was worried about the hallucinations too but I figured that I could always wake myself up and I went on and did it anyways. It turned out to be a thrill ride, it wasn't scary at all up just super trippy and exciting. I was more focused on what I felt happening to my body than any sounds or sights. It felt like I was melting into a puddle and then running of the side of a cliff. Truly an experience non-WILDers can't say they've had. When I finally got to the LD it was very clear and long lasting. I really recommend you try one before you give up on it because you're afraid. If you find you're good at WILDing you've just opened up the possibility to LD every night. I would hate to pass that chance up at that. I recommend praying before you settle in for your wild if you're religious. That helped ease my apprehension. Otherwise just relax and realize that it's something that you go through every night. |

In my experience, hallucinations haven't been anything more than just a little odd - whispering and breathing being the oddest experiences. I've never had a bad hallucination, visual/auditory/tactile. |

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
There's different kinds. If your eyes are closed, there could be louds sound, whispers, or random colors and shapes flashing around the back of your eyelids. If your eyes are open, you may see figures and other strange things. I've also felt tactile hallucinations, including the feeling of being stabbed. Apparently that's really rare though, so no worries. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

@Puffin: I'd love to have hallucinations with my eyes open, even just once, to know what it's like. I can attest to the 'sounds while your eyes are closed' kind of hallucinations. To the OP, nothing to worry about. They're hallucinations, nothing more, try them out. |

The most astounding type of hallucination I've had so far is bright, vivid light, as though I've just looked at the Sun. It's pretty awesome actually. |

To truly know someone is to have seen through their eyes while they were dreaming.
PM me if you want to get acquainted. Looks like adoption's not an option.
