Listening to Bent (Ariels), drinking some Angel's Envy bourbon on the rocks (its fantastic). Not drunk but definitely bored on the internet and visiting places that bring back some memories, the good type. So I just watched the new Robocop on Netflix. It was alright. The film industry definitely needs some new ideas considering the rate of remakes they are pumping out lately. I'm about to have a few night shifts to work so I'm staying up late tonight so I can sleep tomorrow during the day in order to adjust. Who else out there works the night shift and has to do this sort of dance with sleep in order to maintain an adequate level of productivity?

Okay, so like...

I read about this liqueur called "Jeppson's Malört," in Chicago. The hype about it was as bad as the rhetoric about durian. Have you had durian? It's awesome. You've got to try it fresh, you know, and not too old... and then I don't know what people are talking about. It's like banana custard, except less disgusting than actual bananas. It's divine.

So this "Jeppson's Malört," I read about it, and there's all this hype, about how people drink it and make faces and whatever. So I'm in Chicago and I had to find a total dive bar because no classy place would serve this grandpa liqueur. And you know what? It is f***** awesome. I guess this is a family forum, so I'll use a lot of stars instead of syllables. But seriously, it is f***** delicious. If you like wormwood... I mean, if you like wormwood so much that you buy tincture of wormwood to put in your drinks because they're not bitter enough. Uhhh... okay, maybe I'm weird. But seriously, most things are not nearly bitter enough, and if they are, they are way to f***** sweet. Not Jeppson's Malört. It is bitter without the sweet. "If you like bitter, you can't do better." This should be their campaign slogan.

I overdid the caffeine today, and had to work a closing shift, so now I'm doing Bushmills from the bottle, but still not feeling anywhere in the neighborhood of sleepy. I feel kind of awesome, but if tonight doesn't end soon (or a couple hours ago), tomorrow will be a mess.

Wormwood? Is it like Absinthe? I LOVE Absinthe!

Absinthe is made from wormwood (Artemisia absinthium).

Wormwood tincture (or tea) is bitter as f^&*. It definitely brings on an altered state, too, and weird dreams. And a very uncomfortable pounding heart so I avoid it now. For one thing you can't really know how strong a mix you're getting, it contains thujone (the substance that causes the trippy effects), and thujone is toxic

Played "Power Hour" for about 4 hours last night/this morning, slept about 4-5 hours, woke up and pretty sure i'm still drunk, haha
