Does having animals in the room change the possibilities of being able to have a lucid dream ?

I have 2 cats that constantly sleep in my room and on my bed with me when i sleep. Can this affect my dreams in any way ?

      No.

I have two dogs that sleep with me at night, every night. One sleeps at the end of the bed. The other, ether on the couch or right beside me, cuddled up to me. I've never had a problem with dreaming.

The only way I can see is if you visualize your pets whilst trying to fall asleep. Beyond that I can not see how pets can affect your dreams.

I stopped sleeping with my cat in my bed when I started practicing lucid dreaming, but that's just because the cat likes to sleep in my face and I have a pretty light sleep.

If that's not the case, and having a door semi-opened (so the cat can get out) is not a problem in the way other people may make noises or wake you up with lights, you're all fine

Not unless it's disrupting you by making noises, or physically disturbing you, hence causing you to wake up.

having pets doesnt affect you to have a LD but they will protect your 'energy' from harmful dream vampires; I read this from a dream walking book. it kinda makes sense.

It certainly helps me. My dog sleeps between my legs and makes it slightly more uncomfortable to sleep. This gives me a lighter sleep which enables me to be more conscious throughout the night.

I was asking myself the same question, although not about Lucids, just regular dreams.
I adapted two cats about two month ago. For the first month, I had the wildest deams every single night and I remembered them all.
I started thinking if it has something to do with the cats, or the parfume smell of the scented litter, or something else.
I had a pretty good dream recall before, but remembering a crazy dream every night was unusual.

They don't affect my ability to become lucid, they just tend to wake me up at really important times <.<

My dog likes to ruin my mornings. He has the uncanny ability to sense when I'm waking up and then start attacking my face with his tongue.

They can either help or harm. I used to keep my two cats outside my room and the door closed, because they had the nasty habit of starting to fight in the middle of the night or waking me up around 5:30 asking for food and would sometimes interrupt me in the middle of amazing lucid dreams.
But they are calmer now, so I decided to let them stay in the bed just to see if it would work out. I found out that they now actually help me to recall more dreams, because they are quiet and let me sleep peacefully, but their presence keeps me more alert and with a lighter sleep Whenever they start moving too much, I kick them out, but I try to coordinate that moment of disturbance with trying to WILD on returning to bed.
