Saying you can't lucid wont help you. If you expect yourself to have lucids then you will find it easier One thing to help you further though is; stick with one technique and stay focused on it. Generally speaking a technique needs to be focused on for at least a month before you can say it doesn't work for you 
Your recall on the other hand is affected by many things but will usually get better the more you Dream Journal. Small things such as going to bed a few hours earlier and writing down the days activities can largely extend recall. Vivid is a bit harder to induce, if I want vivid dreams I usually eat a small amont of cheese before bed or may I recommend to you dream incubation. Make up your dream in the daytime, daydream it, imagine it. It might take a few days but after that you should have a dream to step in to through your chosen method and because you've already built it before hand it should be fairly vivid 
Dream control is a little strange, some people have it right away and others it takes months to learn but you'll get there with practice
