You are paying too much attention to your visualization. What you want is the same sensation as when you fall into a day-dream. What you are trying to do is fall asleep with lucid dreaming on your mind, if visualization is stopping you from falling asleep then you are probably trying to hard.
Try to let your mind wander but still about lucid dreaming. It doesn't matter if you start thinking about something else as long as you subtly revert back to thoughts on lucid dreaming.
Usually after a long session of actively trying to visualize (15 mins) your brain will start to effortlessly carry on the visualization without any need to stay focused.
Try to be more relaxed tonight and just fall asleep lightly thinking of lucid dreaming.
@Snoop: Iriba said MILD, not WILD. I don't think he was intending on entering the visualization.
