I'd say it does. Once you have your first lucid you would get more confident, knowing that you can do it. |
|
Well when you have your first lucid dream and it's amazing, you get motivated to have more so you work harder. |

Don't you dare defy me!
Note: I'm big on grammar, you won't see one error coming out of me!
Not derailing, but paranoidllama your signature creeps me out.... looks like that Llama is about to murder someone. |

I'd say it does, because now you actually have an idea of how a LD feels. And that in and of itself can really help. Though I woudn't expect an explosion of LD's after the first one. |

Lucid Dream Goal:
A perfect week!
One week with at least 1 Lucid Dream in every night.
Motivation is key, it really does help and once you have your first lucid dream, you will want to have more and it will help. |

Lucid dreams make your dreams come true!!
In my opinion the first lucid makes you want more because you work for it and get your first reward. |

I still find it comical that I had my first lucid dream the next time I slept after I posted this thread. Thanks for all the responses. |

I think the right way to think about this is: it is raised awareness (both self awareness and dream awareness) that results in lucidity in dreams. Lucidity in dreams is a sign that your LD practice is "catching on" in your mind. It is continued effort in progressing in the fundamentals that results in more frequent lucid dreams. Some kind of effort I think is always required. But the more you get lucid, the more your mind gets used to operating in that mode, the less effort it takes to sustain a particular level of lucidity (either frequency of dreams or the level of lucidity). To reach ever higher heights, continued effort is certainly required. It's like any discipline that way. |
