I don't know how well it works, but I'm trying a method where my watch goes off every 30 minutes, and when I hear it I do a reality check, so that when I hear it in my sleep I'll become lucid. Copyright to catzisconfus, I think this was their idea.

And I know what you mean saying it's hard to focus on one thing. I keep getting songs stuck in my head, and they won't go away when I'm trying to concentrate at night. I've also fallen asleep a couple of times before I bothered to chant my mantra...
