I'm referring to the end of modern civilization, which seems to be a point of concern for the OP. I only picked 2012 'cause that seems to be the most used date for such predictions these days. Personally, I don't think we'll have anything to worry about until 2060 (for lulzy reasons), but that's just me.
You might be right. For some people this 'end of modern civilization' refers to Armageddon and for some it signifies a transformation in consciousness; an evolution that affects our DNA.
I don't know who knows this, but 95% of the human DNA have no discovered function. This DNA is referred to as Junk DNA, and scientist believe that more of this DNA will become useful in the next evolutionary stage. This unused DNA could mean that we all have potential abilities that we don't yet know about. Some of which could be reflected through our dream lives. In any case it illustrates a change that deviates from the macro structure of social conventions and group consciousness and gravitates towards individualism — abundance — and personal truth.
I believe that the door will close on the old methods of doing things. How we used to live life would no longer be an option, and under this assumption the need for physical survival skills would be rendered completely moot. If what happens is the merging of the dream plane with the physical, then we will inherit our dream capabilities in "real-time"... we will already have somewhat of an evolutionary edge.
Basically what this person said:

Namaste! Onto the other stuff.

As ironic as it might sound... it's mostly common sense. Personal experiences ('real' or 'dreamt') combined with historical and religious texts and drawings and the wealth of the internet (which basically reflects a conscious "real-world" shared dreamscape)
Though the biggest "proof" is the government project: MILAB, which is short for Military Abductions... which in an abundant number of cases reported their ufo or abduction experience as being supplemented by the presence of military personnel. As in the military was there, with or without guns, observing and partaking in the abductions.
A little self-education goes a long way. There are a million theories and they are all right.

You are probably right. Just like in every day life.

Its fkn awesome to do, and I've managed to do it in lucid dreams too! Either I learnt these moves in a previous incarnation, or perhaps my subconscious has learnt them all from watching TV.- who knows could be a bit of both. I would be interested to hear if this happens to anyone else? Its really quite bizzare because I'm by no means an expert in martial arts IRL, but in some dreams I am - how is this even possible?
I think you're already on the right train of thought with this one. I've experienced much the same myself. If you throw all that's learned from playing video games too, you've got a decent recipe. (There have been printed studies on the connection between gamers and dream warriors through lucid dreaming.) I know things I can't possibly know in fighting styles and combat that I haven't touched IRL, and again "if" the dream plane merges with the physical then the knowledge from our subconscious dreamselves would theoretically tap into manifesting these abilities and astral memories instantly.

I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm asking you to fight with me. I have absolutely no "formal" martial arts training in this life, besides grappling (wrestling) and street fighting. I've forgotten who I was, just like everybody else.
And I'm not saying that I am a divine chosen warrior. I'm saying that I chose to be a warrior.... again and again over many lifetimes.

We save the world each and every night.

Ultimately, that's what it's about. That in light or in spite of the differences in us all about who or why we do this, it is important we stand together.

There are only two sides: "With Us" or "Against Us"... often we're at battle with ourselves. I believe it comes down to this; Focus is Power. ANYTHING that takes power from you, your focus, and distracts you... is malicious. Most of our time is spent wasting time, and not bringing ourselves to our fullest potential. We have to stress about the bullshit battles of every day. Bills, mortgage, work, family/kids, social relationships, car insurance, food... we play videogames, watch television and movies, we spend countless hours on the internet, but a large portion of it is spent wasting time (that which isn't assimilated subconsciously... but there's so much 'garbage' out there that you really need to be aware and limit what you intake in terms of television and film. FUCK commercials.)
What I'm getting at, is that we are constantly assailed by time-wasters in every day life. But that's the 'real world' we've collectively created for each other, so we play by those rules. But think of how often it happens at night in our dreams when we're genuinely "free."
How many dreams do you have where you go through a day just as normal, and then wake up? Or you have a full day of school and wake up to find out its time to go to school... or work... these are dreams wasted on distractions. EVEN LUCID DREAMING CAN BE A TRAP
Personally, I don't like to partake in lucid sex. Because being Lucid in a dream is essentially me at full potential... at self-realization. I can literally accomplish anything. But how often do we become lucid that we waste that time on popping one off with a fantasy fuck? I've done it far too many times and I hate it every time that I do because that is wasted "time" that could have been spent practicing shape-shifting, or casting energy.
What I'm getting at is that we need to battle distractions as much as possible, or use them to our advantage. All these distractions are used to keep us from realizing our true potential, even when at our full potential.
Now I leave with you all with question to ponder on:
Does reality change consciousness or is it consciousness that alters reality?
In many areas of mainstream physical science consciousness isn’t understood. Rarely is it even given a meaningful and informative description. What then is it that we call consciousness, and how might it evolve?
