I have to start by saying that I'm happy I had some experience with OBE before I have read other people's experiences. Because mine were nothing like it's mostly described and I'm glad I wasn't influenced by others descriptions. What I have read later is that people have sensations of actually separating, it may be hard, you may get stuck in certain part of the body and such.
I had none of it before or even after I read those depictions. Maybe because I "knew" that these experiences are personal and if you believe that you will separate easily, then that's how it will go for you.
I had my first OBE when I was one day trying to WILD. I was having hard time so I "gave up". I rolled to my side and decided to just go to sleep. Next thing I know, I'm looking at my ceiling from maybe 12 inches away. My body is hanging just below the ceiling on it's back and I can feel it at the same time as I;m aware of my physical body laying on it's side on the bed.
My next experience was few days later. Also attempting to WILD and I guess I dozed off. Next thing I know is my subtle legs are sticking up to the ceiling at steep angle, while rest of my subtle body was still inside the physical one.
I have had a few more what I call to myself "genuine OBEs". I have never felt the actual separation. When I was just hovering about my body or body parts sticking out of me, I was always aware of both of my bodies. And my awareness what shifting from one set of eyes to the other one and back.
When I rolled out or stood up from my body, I immediately lost awareness of my physical body and felt to be present only in the subtle body.
This was years ago. Between then and now I have only had what I call WILDs. I started by entering my WILDs through visuals. Later on I started to roll out of my body, sit up, stand up or levitate myself up. To be honest, this type of an exit is same as OBEers describe some types of their exits. Makes me question what am I doing, haha.

Induction techniques and reality checks https://www.dreamviews.com/induction...ds-techniques/
Sageous's WILD class https://www.dreamviews.com/wild/
Basic steps:
1. WILD after at least 3-4 hrs of sleep, so you are close to next REM
2. WBTB really helps Wakefulness Makes Lucidity More Likely
3. Your goal is to fall asleep
4. Try your WILD exit without waiting for any clues
5. As you are trying to fall asleep, use your mantras to keep your mind on task
6. Start mental commands to stand up, sit up, roll out or levitate up AND imagine yourself doing it without moving actual muscles even if you are 100% sure you are still awake!
7. Do motionless reality checks to see if you are already dreaming
