    1. Lego World Nautilus

      by , 09-22-2017 at 03:22 PM
Morning of September 22, 2017. Friday.

In my dream, we are living in a distorted version of the Loomis Street house (where I have not been since February of 1994 and where Zsuzsanna and our children had never been). However, I have no recall that it was actually my sister Marilyn and her husband (of whom I have no thoughts of at all in my dream) whose house it mainly was.

In the first part of my dream, I am watching a nautilus on top of the kitchen counter. Rather than this part of the kitchen counter being in the actual kitchen along the west wall, it is along the west wall of the dining room left of the west doorway. I had been sitting at the dining room table. Although the nautilus is otherwise a water denizen (and probably a feature of the very common water induction as dream state initiation), it moves along the counter, seemingly healthy, seemingly breathing the air. I feed it some pieces of cereal and watch it eat. It faces to the left in profile.

Over time, I realize that the nautilus was part of an aquarium based on Lego block creations. There are an unrealistic number of boxes of Lego kits throughout the living room and dining room. The aquarium with the Lego features in it belongs to our youngest son. In the later scene, after the nautilus had been in the aquarium for several minutes, I notice that it may be dying, as it spews blood and is also bleeding from underneath its shell. I learn that our son had paid $80.00 for the “kit”. However, it does not make much sense as I also learn that the people who sold it want it back - yet $230.00 must be paid for them to have it again (which of course makes no sense at all). However, because the nautilus will soon be dead, the scenario is problematic. I am very annoyed. I am not sure what we will do. The creature is still breathing, but I do not think it will live.

I become distracted when I notice three men lying on the ground just outside the south area of the house, sleeping. It seems to be late morning. I see them through the bay window. They are parallel to each other but are sleeping in informal clothes. Soon, one wakes and phases through the wall. This makes me annoyed and I jab my Olympic barbell (no weights) into his neck and hold him down on the floor with it. He is standing at one point, but I punch him. He becomes a sheet of notebook paper, which I tear into several pieces.

This dream, as is usually the case with at least one dream per day, was partly based on something my wife Zsuzsanna had seen that I could not have known about. She had seen a movie yesterday morning (with some of our children) that had Lego in it, and a Lego aquarium as with my dream (and at the beginning of that movie). No one ever mentioned anything about this prior to my dream. This sort of event has been validated to have happened long before I even met Zsuzsanna (when she also appeared in my dreams as my “mystery girl” with the exact appearance and unlikely mixed accent of Romani Hungarian and Australian, as well as actual Persian associations as with some dreams).

    2. Feeding Prisoners

      by , 08-18-2017 at 01:14 PM
Morning of August 18, 2017. Friday.

I become aware that I am some sort of informal prison guard, yet I also apparently live with the prisoners, though atop a mostly featureless vertically-oriented rectangular prism with only a large mattress present.

The size-orientation relating to perspective is oddly distorted, as the prisoners seem only about one-fourth the size they should be relative to distance. I do not really consider this distortion as such while in my dream.

It is apparently my job, or at least my turn, to feed the prisoners who begin to gather far below. I have a large bag of chocolate Chex cereal. I throw down the pieces in small amounts as the prisoners gather to eat with their hands (as there are no bowls or silverware visible).

Looking around, I notice a prisoner casually walking out a main door into a hall. I do not call out or say anything, though I am not fully sure of the situation. An unfamiliar female guard notices this but does not get to them in time, so I assume that the prisoner has escaped. This seems to happen again later with a different prisoner who goes through a door in another area, perpendicular to the first.

In the last scene, a couple other prisoners are somehow atop the prism near me. I seem to be ready to sleep now. I feel the other male is a bit too close to me, but I do not say anything. He does not seem a threat, but his physical presence is somewhat intrusive.

This seems partly based on our youngest daughter accidentally spilling part of a bowl of Coco Pops Chex cereal onto Zsuzsanna from above and behind prior to sleeping. Zsuzsanna immediately got up to have a shower and there were Coco Pops Chex pieces here and there on the way to the bathroom and in the bathroom. Still, an additional association may be because they are somewhat cushion-shaped (as a subliminal dream state indicator). There may also be some sort of connection between “prism” and “prison”, as they sound similar.

Atypically, the personified unconscious seems to be the female prison guard - which is the opposite of the preconscious (though the unconscious does not usually appear to deliberately hold a dreamer in the dream state, which seems rather strange to me other than for circadian rhythms factors). This dream seems to otherwise move towards typical doorway waking symbolism (as did another dream of this date though also atypically), except that my emergent consciousness seems to be projected from a distance (“escaping” twice) due to my direct perspective (as the personified subconscious aka dream self) already perceiving that I am in bed and lying down atop the prism. Ambiguous multiplicity has occurred a number of times before in waking symbolism.

This is certainly not the first time I have been elevated above the rest of my dream’s setting, which simply means that I am closer to waking in a rendering of liminal space (often with increased physical awareness as in this case). In this case, it is even more obvious as I am already “back in bed”.

    3. Freckled Drink and Onion Cereal

      by , 11-04-2014 at 10:19 AM
Morning of November 4, 2014. Tuesday.

I seem to be much younger and living with my mother (who died years ago). The house seems somewhat of a variation of the house in Brisbane on Stadcor Street, though I am not sure of the country or state, perhaps Florida again. It seems she is also watching someone else’s kids, at least two (unfamiliar) girls. Over time, there is a total lack of cohesion in any potential plot or focus. Several dream scenes repeat several times with only a small awareness of repetition while in the dream.

One event relates to having a large bowl of cereal. (The kitchen seems to be where the main bedroom was if assuming the Stadcor Street house and what would be the kitchen is the main bedroom, though not precisely mirrored as is common in some dreams.) I get what I assume is cereal (Wheat Chex or something similar), pour it in a bowl, and then pour milk on it. At first, it seems to be normal cereal. After a time, though, I notice that there are very small pieces of meat (steak), onion, and carrots in the mix. I particularly notice the onion spirals and the distinct flavor within the milk. It seems a bit “wrong” at first, but then I consider that it is just a different type of meal and eat it anyway (especially as I do not want to waste it). (On a side note, eating and actually tasting food such as within this dream is not that common for me. In fact, for me, food dreams are the least common of all.)

At one point, I am making a beverage, which I believe is an atypical mocaccino. For some reason, the drink changes colors from a darker to lighter brown. There is also some sort of flavor packet that puts red particles in the drink (similar to very small flakes of chocolate), which do not dissolve. I get the strong impression that drinking it will give me freckles (which I have never had in real life), which is not necessarily a bad thing. For a very short time, I contemplate looking in the mirror to see if the mocaccino gave me freckles. However, that thought quickly fades and this entire dream scenario repeats at least three more times in the same order.
