      Tigress in the Springs
I wake up in bed and roll over. I am about to go back to sleep when I realize I am not in my own waterbed. I also notice that even though I have my eyes closed I can see the light is on in the room. I open my eyes and find out that I am in the bedroom of my dreamscape. I recognize the place right away and I sit up in bed. There is a black cat on my bed with me.

The cat comes over to me and purrs softly. I pet the cat for a bit and then get up. I look around the room, almost certain that something strange is going to happen. I'm not sure what I expect… something Templar related most likely. The cat jumps down from the bed and walks across the room to a door. The cat sits beside the door and meows. I open the door and the cat heads down the hall. It is a long hall with no doors on either side. The cat is moving rather quickly and I have to hurry to keep up. The cat reaches the end of the hall and scratches on a door. I go to open the door, but it is locked. The cat meows a bit impatiently. I focus on the door for a bit and then I use the alohomora spell from the Harry Potter books. The door clicks unlocked. I open the door and enter the next room. I recognize this next room from dreamscape as well. It is the living room area where my name is written on the wall. It says "Raven Knight Is Free" in black marker. That doesn't seem like what should be written there… it has changed somehow. I look around the room to find the cat. The black cat is grooming itself on the couch. Is this the destination room? I look back at the graffiti. Now it says "Raven Knight Is Infected" on it. Infected? Infected with what? The writing on the wall morphs. Now it says "Mercer Virus" in block letters. I think about that for a minute, but it seems I already knew that… clear to the point where I have used Prototype abilities in dreams. The writing on the wall morphs again. Now it says "Sometimes the disease is the cure," in fancy cursive writing. The disease is the cure… the Mercer Virus is a cure for something? A cure for what? The writing morphs. It changes to "Raven Was Here" which looks like what it is supposed to be. I hear an insistent meow from the other side of the room. I follow the sound and find the cat beside a staircase. The stairs lead up. I follow the stairs up and into a TV room. The television is a large flat screen, and it is turned on, but there is only static on the screen. This room also looks familiar from the dreamscape. The cat jumps up on a chair and curls up. I look at the television and will it to change channels. The image on the screen changes to show a hot spring. I remember saying I was going to meet Tigress there for healing.

I approach the television and find it is a window I can step through. I step through the television and into the biodome near the hot springs. I look around to see if there is anyone else there. I see Tigress in the hot springs relaxing. I go over near her and focus on the song Voices to heal some pains she has been having. She doesn't seem to notice me. I slip into the healing springs, it is warm and comforting. I sink to the bottom. I look up and I see Winter floating in the water. I swim back up towards her and then float beside her while I focus on Voices again to help her with her fibromyalgia. When I stop swimming I sink back to the bottom. I swim back up towards Winter and finish the song before sinking yet again. I wonder why I keep sinking… but then I wake.

      Moving Day
I am with my mother and we are driving through Tucson looking for a new house. I have no idea why we are moving, but it seems I periodically have dreams of moving to a new and larger house. We are looking for a rather large home on a large plot of land. We soon spot the house we are looking for up on a hill overlooking the city down below.

We drive up to the home and park in the long curved driveway. The two of us go up to the house and ring the bell. A woman answers the door and lets us in. She is tall, unbelievably tall, and has long golden blonde hair. She is holding an adorable little tortoiseshell kitty cat. I immediately think of Amber. My sweet little Amber. Apparently the woman notices me looking at the kitty because she asks if I want to hold her. I say yes, and she hands me the cat. The cat looks at me and begins to purr as I pet her. I tell the woman about the cat's resemblance to my lost cat Amber. My mom and I start looking around the house, I take the cat with me. She continues to purr. The house is even bigger inside than it looks outside. I finally put the cat down when she begins to wiggle. I look out the back sliding door and I see a pool outside. The view is great, I can see the entire city stretched out below. The air looks surprisingly clear today. My mom is talking to the woman. She is saying we will take the house. As we are leaving my mom tells me that we'll have to spend the night in a hotel because she already sold the old place. I wonder where the dogs and cats are. When I ask my mom she says they'll be fine but doesn't really answer me. She takes me to a hotel and then leaves. I go into my room and find I am not alone there. My ex boyfriend James is there with his new wife Tina. I wonder why I am there with them. There are two rooms connected with a bed in each room. I am to use one of the beds. Annoying, but for one night I can handle it. So I go into one of the rooms and lie down to go to sleep. I hear James and Tina having sex in the other room. Yuck. Not what I wanted to hear. Finally they go silent. Then I feel someone slid into bed with me. What the fuck? I look and see it's Tina. What is she doing here? Did she get pissed at James for poor performance? I am so tired I am about to put up with that when James joins us. What do they want? A threesome? No way! I get out of the bed. I'm going somewhere else. I'd rather sleep in a dumpster. James and Tina get up. James asks me where I'm going. A man enters the room and looks at them. I recognize Alex Mercer from Prototype, but somehow this isn't odd enough to make me do a reality check.

James says my new boyfriend there can join us… Alex looks kind of confused, then pissed off. I have enough time to think he is chronically pissed off before he goes right over to James and calls him a lying sack of shit, throws him on the ground, pounds the shit out of him, and consumes him. Tina rolls her eyes and says James has always been such a wuss when it comes to fighting. Alex looks puzzled and then grabs and consumes Tina. He looks over at me and says they weren't real… there was nothing there. I don't answer, I am too busy staring at a smear of blood on the ground that is all that remains of James and Tina, and I find myself laughing. They weren't real? Maybe they were never real… "I just made you up to hurt myself…" lyrics come to mind, part of the song Only by the Nine Inch Nails, I find myself singing a slightly altered version. "I just made them up to hurt myself, I just made them up to hurt myself… and it worked." Alex is giving me a really strange look when I wake up.

      DDO Prototype
I am in a green field outside of a walled city. I look around to see where I am and I see there is a gate into the city that is closed tight. I wonder if I will be able to get into the city. I head over to the gate and look to get inside. There is a guard at the gate that looks down and asks who I am. When I don't answer right away he says I don't look like a minion of the Devourer. The Devourer? I am in a virtual reality video game! I look at the city wall, marveling at the graphic detail of this game. My thoughts are distracted when the guard says he can let me in as long as I hurry and give up any weapons when I come in. He says that goes for both of us. Both of us? I turn to look behind me and I see Alex Mercer from the game Prototype. I do a double take at that. He is looking around as if he is not sure where we are any more than I am. So now I have both DDO and Prototype? A virtual reality crossover game! Awesome! I look past Alex at the horizon where I see smoke rising. I ask the guard what that is. He says it is the Devourer encampment. He says he hopes those fires aren't burning the hostages… I ask what hostages. He says that they have taken some villagers as hostages. He says they will burn the hostages alive if they don't hand over the sigil stone… which they can't do… but they don't have the soldiers to get through the enemy forces and reach the hostages. Rescue the hostages. Sounds like that's the quest. I'm not sure what Alex intends to do, but I tell the guard that I'll bring the hostages back. The guard asks if I am crazy. I tell him I'll show him crazy. I look towards the smoke in the air and then head in that direction, taking flight as I go. I hear the guard say, "What in Tarinthia?!" as I get out of earshot. I look down below me and I see Alex is keeping up with me easily and then he pulls ahead. I speed up my flight using energy. Alex comes to a stop just before the land drops into a canyon, I land beside him. The smoke is coming from various camp fires down below. I see an array of enemies camped out there. Quite a few sahuagin gathered around a river that flows through the center of the canyon, which is quite wide.

The enemies on the other side of the river seem to be primarily humans dressed in Devourer robes. I see a cave on the far wall that is quite a ways up the side of the cliff, there are bars on the entrance. I figure they must have the hostages in there. Alex says it doesn't look like there's so many of them and then jumps off the cliff. He glides out over a group of sahuagin and drops lightning down on them. I hear the song Battery by Metallica. The sahuagin are water elementals, and particularly susceptible to lightning… fried sahuagin. I am thinking he just used Battery by Metallica… and that's not normal for Alex Mercer. He lands in the area that the lightning cleared and launches a tendril devastator attack that catches sahuagin in a larger radius and even some of the Devourer minions beyond the sahuagin. Now that's more normal for Alex Mercer. The enemies are just now managing to react to the new arrival, though they don't seem too organized. The enemies have officially been caught with their pants down. I jump out over the canyon, flying, and dropping Damage, Inc. fireballs down on enemies as I go. I land in a burned area where a fireball hit and use Phantom Lord to clear a larger area with a wall of fire. Enemies quickly start closing in again. I wish I could use the tendril devastator right now… but why not? If this mod allows for Alex to use Battery… so without really considering how I to do it I set off a tendril devastator and clear a large area of enemies.

There are far fewer enemies now, and they seem confused as to where the attacks are coming from since they seem to be everywhere at once. I see Alex grab a guy in Devourer minion robes that are fancier than the rest of them, probably one of the higher ups, and consume him. I form a sword with Witchblade and fight off two Devourer minions attacking me with spears. Alex is coming right at me now, he takes off and flies right over my head to land beyond me and head for the far wall of the canyon. He jumps up to the cave entrance where the hostages must be being held. I follow after him, fighting through a couple remaining Devourer minions on my way. When I get there I jump towards the entrance, intending to fly the rest of the way, but I reach the entrance with a jump. The gate to the prison has been pulled off of its hinges and tossed aside. I go into the inner cavern that is lit by torches in the walls. I get there just in time to see Alex push a couple hostages out of the way before grabbing a man and quickly consuming him. WTF? "What'd you do that for?!" I yell over the noise made by surprised hostages. I wonder why Alex is killing hostages. In response to what Alex did the other hostages are now clambering over each other in an attempt to get away making it hard for me to get through to Alex. I finally get through into an area around Alex that is now clear. He starts pushing his way into the crowd as if looking for someone specific. He finally grabs one hostage and drags him out into the open area. It looks like he is going to consume that one, too, so I yell at him to stop it. He stops and gives me a dirty look before throwing the hostage over to me and saying he is a traitor who set these people up to be captured. He says to just consume the bastard then I'll know the truth. I say no, I won't do that. The man says Alex is insane, working for the Devourer. A woman asks if he didn't see what happened to Brindle… then says she thinks Alex actually is the Devourer. Alex is just watching me, seeming not to notice the hostages climbing on each other to get as far away from him as the cavern will allow. I hear someone at the exit yell to stop pushing followed by a scream. Great… the hostages are making like lemmings. I realize I am still holding on to the hostage Alex threw at me. He says I can't possibly believe that insane monster, can I? He says Alex ate Brindle! He's not human! Damn… easily solved. I do a telepathic scan of his mind. I see him leading some people down into the canyon… then it is blocked off by the image of a mind flayer.

The hostages are freaking out… gotta get them out of here. I focus on opening a portal leading to just outside the city gates. It opens. I tell the hostages that is their way home. Being used to magic, no one questions that and they all go through the portal quickly. The man I'm still holding tries to go but I don't let go of him. He tries to pull away but I hold him easily. The portal closes leaving Alex, me, and the one hostage remaining in the cavern. The man says I can't possibly believe that monster over there… I use a quick song spell of Liberate by Disturbed and try to scan his mind again. Maybe the mind flayer was controlling him? This scan produces no more information, just an image of a mind flayer. Of course the few images I had gotten do look a bit incriminating… He tries once more to get free before pulling out a dagger and trying to stab me with it, calling me a fucking bitch and saying the Devourer will rule all. His stab is blocked by Witchblade. When the attack fails he seems to be panicking, though he really just seems to be afraid of Alex. He keeps saying to keep that thing away from him. He then stabs himself with his dagger, apparently preferring to die over being forced to talk. But damn, I wanted to know what had been going on! Without really thinking about it I consume the guy… and find out he had been working for the Devourer willingly, no mind control involved, just simple greed. He and his friend had actually prevented an earlier escape attempt, resulting in three of the hostages being burned alive. Alex says that wasn't so hard. I curse at myself for doing what I said I wouldn't do. Alex asks why I automatically assumed he was lying. I don't know what to say about that. I have to force myself to look into Alex's eyes. It looks like he is somewhat annoyed, but I can also see an inner flame. It seems to be burning pretty bright. That's something I am glad to see. He still wants to know why I assumed he was lying. I still have no answer, then I wake up.
    2. 07/25/2011 DDO, Oceans, Apologies

by , 07-26-2011 at 03:36 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Last night's dreams seem to be a little more along the lines of my usual dreams, though I was never really lucid. I am figuring that lucidity will improve as my recall improves.

      Free For All
I am a fighter in a game of Dungeons and Dragons Online, I am carrying a nasty and cool looking sword. There is a tournament of some kind going on, where players are all fighting against other players. Things are set up so players can get KO'ed but not killed, so the scores are based on the overall performance and 'kills' by each player. I am fighting against a rather big guy with an even bigger axe. He proves to be very strong, but his tactics are way too predictable. After avoiding a couple of his attacks I am able to identify a pattern in his attacks and get past his defenses. I knock him out and then continue exploring a forest area where the tournament is taking place, it is a very realistic looking forest, looks just as real as any forest in the waking world. I am a bit distracted by the surrounding environment when I get surprised by another player attacking me. This is a man with a sword, and as opposed to the first one, he seems quite a bit more skilled. This fight goes on considerably longer than the first one, but I am finally able to get the upper hand and take him down. I am quite a bit more tired from that fight as I continue exploring the forest.

      Aquarium Jumping
I am at some huge series of aquariums, looking at the various ocean life in them. There are assorted fish, many kinds of fish, in every imaginable color. There are also sharks, stalking the aquariums as if they are on the hunt. I see a woman in the water, she is swimming as if she herself was part fish, swimming like a mermaid and I see she is one… She is jumping like a dolphin. Jumping from one aquarium to another, practically flying between them. It seems the sharks are trying to catch her, jumping out of the water and grabbing at her, but always a bit too slow as she proceeds to the next aquarium. It seems she is trying to jump from aquarium to aquarium until she reaches the safety of an aquarium not far from me where there are only fish, no sharks. I see there is a man in one of the tanks, one of the tanks with sharks in it. He is trying to get to the side of the tank to get out. The mermaid jumps into his tank and tries to get him to hang on to her properly so she can still jump. But instead he seems in a blink panic and is grabbing frantically at the mermaid to keep from being pulled away by a shark. She tries to jump with him on her but can't do it, instead, his blind panic makes him lose his grip and fall back to the water while the mermaid clumsily falls in a neighboring tank. The sharks swarm the man and tear him apart in a feeding frenzy. The mermaid looks sad that she wasn't able to save him, but no less determined to save herself… she takes advantage of the distraction and makes the final few jumps to the safe tank. She swims over to us observers and hands me a beautiful flower, saying life was needlessly lost, but don't let any more sparks die.

      Imagination Is Real
I am in a strange place with some other people. I think one of them is MoSh, another of them might be Nomad… We are all in a world that somehow doesn't seem quite stable, it seems to be changing and shifting around us. The world around us is reforming as time passes, morphing from one form into another. Someone is talking to us, I don't see the person who is speaking, but the voice sounds familiar, maybe it is Q? He is talking about traveling through dimensions without actually opening a portal, just phasing through the dimensional boundaries, sliding sideways sort of through the worlds and watching them slip by. The effect is that one feature morphs into another as everything gradually shifts from one place to another. Mountains slowly smooth out into hills, flat areas rise up to form mountains, low areas fill up with water and then rise up and are covered by trees… buildings sprout out of nowhere and various races of people, not necessarily all human, are living there and going about their lives without seeming to notice us. For a while we are under water and there is a society of dolphins swimming around us. Q says for me to imagine where I want to go and I will soon be there. He says that whatever I can imagine exists somewhere, the universe is that vast. So when one person tells another, "That isn't real… you just made that up…" is really a nonsensical statement since it surely exists somewhere.

      Precious
I am in a room with my ex boyfriend, he is singing a song, I recognize the song is titled Precious by Depeche Mode. It seems he is trying to say he is sorry for how he has treated me in the past. Here are the lyrics to the song:

Precious and fragile things, need special handling.
My God what have we done to you?
We always tried to share, the tenderest of care.
Now look what we have put you through.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

Angels with silver wings shouldn't know suffering.
I wish I could take the pain for you
If God has a master plan that only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

I pray you learn to trust have faith in both of us.
And keep room in your hearts for two.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

    3. 04/19/11 These Dreams Make No Sense!

by , 04-19-2011 at 10:19 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      Happy Birthday
I am at a birthday party, it is a big event. It is the birthday party of my friend Alicia, though it is much larger than any party she has ever had before. I don't know where Alicia is right now, and I don't recognize any of the other guests. I explore the party, which is much too large to be in Alicia's house. I enter a room that is filled with treats of all kinds, cakes, cookies, drinks of all kinds… the center piece is a huge birthday cake. I am walking through the room when Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds comes out of the cake and starts dancing.

I think Alicia will be disappointed to miss that… I continue and find there is an indoor pool at the party, which is so big there is a small island in the middle of it. I think Alicia is probably on the island which is going to be a problem for me to get her gift to the island without getting it wet.

      Kobold Attack
I am in a room, or actually it's more of a cave, it is a large roundish cavern with a glowing gem in the middle of it. The gem is about the size of a basket ball and it is floating in the middle of the room with no apparent support, bathing the room in a blue light.

I look at the gem, there are actually rainbow colors moving about in the gem, it is almost hypnotic. There is movement in the darkness around the edge of the room, and an attack comes fast and violently. I realize I am a Paladin, like from DDO, and I am armed with a nasty looking sword. I am surrounded by kobolds, and they are all attacking me. I start fighting off the kobolds. I can see enough of what is going on around me to tell that I am not fighting alone, but I can't see who else is fighting against the kobolds. Whoever they are, there seems to be three of them and they are keeping the crystal in the center of the room covered from the other three directions, so I can just focus on stopping the kobolds from one direction. My armor is very good, and my sword is deadly, I am able to successfully fend off the kobold attacks. Unfortunately I never do get a look at my companions before I wake up.

      Crazy Taxi: Burnout
I am at my house, both my mom and I have errands to run. She leaves first, then I follow her shortly later. I notice she has put a lot of stuff out for the trash, so I stop to check to make sure there is nothing there I want to keep. I find a trunk there, look inside, and the thing falls apart. I find a set of sheets I really want to keep, so I put them in my car and then leave for my errands. After I get a short distance I realize I don't remember what errands I needed to perform… damn. I go home. Alicia is waiting for me there. My mom arrives home shortly after. In my room, I realize I need to feed my fish… I have two small fish bowls with male betas in them.

I forgot to feed them… but fortunately they look fine. I open my bottle of food and feed them the last of it, so I know I need to go get more food. My mom tells me not to take my car, for some reason she wants us to take a taxi instead. That sounds expensive… Alicia and I are in the taxi, heading to town. Alicia notices that the driver seems to be driving quite recklessly. I don't mind, since it will get us to our destination sooner. But he is getting more reckless… now it's like he's trying to get into a wreck. I do a RC and find out I'm dreaming, (though I don't really become lucid) this is a game of Crazy Taxi, so I am looking around through the windows for opportunities to get in a wreck. Alicia says the driver and I are both nuts. We get in a massive wreck. He jumps the cab from the top of one parking garage to another one and then we crash into a large fuel tanker, creating a huge explosion. Somehow none of us are hurt, but the explosion is awesome. The driver has had enough, but I want to play more. I jack a car from the parking lot we crashed in and take it out, aiming to get in more wrecks. I hit a few cars and then crash into someone's living room through the front window. I look around and I see Abby Shuto from NCIS

standing by a couch, she doesn't seem to notice the car that just crashed into her living room. There with her is Beetlejuice from the movie Beetlejuice.

That is a strange combo… Beetlejuice hands Abby a bouquet of black roses, with a hopeful look on his face. Abby is upset about something, however. She grabs the roses from him, tears them apart, and throws them back in his face before storming off into another room and slamming the door behind her. Beetlejuice looks totally depressed as he come over near me, finally taking note of the car in the living room, he says she'll never forgive him.
    4. 04/04/11 Virtual World: DDO

by , 04-05-2011 at 12:07 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      My Virtual World
I am in a place that looks like a video game. There is just something about the place that makes it look like a computer rendering instead of a real physical place, though I'm not entirely sure what that something is. I am designing the place as if I was in a 3D virtual reality design system. I place pieces of geometry to form them into buildings and such, then I choose textures from a menu that pops up in mid air to apply to the buildings… it is really cool. There are a couple people there with me, but they don't seem to be real people. They are actual NPCs I have already designed for the game, and it seems I programmed them well enough that they can now help me with designing the world.

That is awesome. I have to give them explicit instructions, but they are still very helpful. I leave the virtual world for a bit and find out I am at school, at ITT Tech. I wonder when they got such cool equipment in, and why did they have to get it when I am just ready to graduate? My instructor tells me what effect I need to be creating in the virtual world, so I go back in and begin setting that up. It is a lighting effect where the rays of the sun are visible shining through one of the windows of the building. I create the effect without much difficulty. There is another effect I have to do in the same setting. I enter a completely blank void. I pull out what seems like a blanket and throw it out in front of me. It expands to become a copy of the world I just made previously. Now that is a useful feature! I pull my NPCs into the setting again and then I begin adding the details I need to achieve the next effect. My NPCs are getting annoying now, however, they just want to stand around and do nothing while I do all the work.

      DDO - In Poisoned Waters
I am in a place that looks a lot like the city of Stormreach from the DDO game, I am in the harbor area. I am not alone there, I see there are two men and a woman there with me. I am instantly aware of who they are, though I do not become aware it is a dream. It is Nomad, MoSh, and Tigress, but I am thinking they are just in a virtual reality version of DDO with me. And the game is completely awesome! I look around at all of the NPCs and the other players, there are actually some of the NPCs with golden chalices floating over their heads indicating they have quests… Tigress heads over to one of them and talks to her. I follow Tigress, Nomad and MoSh come with me. The NPC is telling Tigress how some of the wells in Stormreach had been yielding poisoned water. She says the kobolds are responsible, though no one knows why. The poison is coming from the waterworks.

The four of us go into the waterworks. At first we get attacked by a few kobolds, but there isn't much kobold resistance. Farther down we start seeing a lot of dead kobolds lying about in varying stages of decomposition… yuck. The water smells bad, it is poisoned. Why would kobolds poison their own water supply? We go deeper, and soon we aren't in the waterworks any more, now we are in what looks like mine shafts. Kobolds are digging at the mine, but they pay no attention to us. Most of them look very weary, exhausted even. I see a kobold fall over from exhaustion. A goblin comes and starts poking the kobold with a spear, snarling at it to get up and back to work. It is clear the kobold can't go on any longer. It weakly tries to get up and then collapses again. The kobolds around the fallen one make no move to help, they hardly seem to notice. The goblin kicks the fallen kobold.

Nomad tells the goblin to pick on someone his own size. The goblin notices us for the first time and calls out that there are intruders. Nomad picks the goblin up by the neck in a hand that has grown huge, and snarls at the goblin that he is pathetic for being able to pick on those who can't fight back but he calls for help the instant someone who can fight comes along. He crushes the goblin's neck. More goblins are coming now, so a fight breaks out. I am a paladin, Nomad is a dark knight cutting down goblins with a black sword and drawing their energy into himself, Tigress is a rogue hitting the goblins when they are distracted attacking Nomad, MoSh, and me, MoSh is a monk knocking goblins to the ground with martial arts moves. We fight all the goblins off, but we know the boss is down farther into the dungeon.

The four of us continue down farther, past a lot of kobolds who are working as hard as they can. A couple kobolds pause in their work to look over at us. We get down to the bottom chamber where the kobolds are digging down even farther. There is a really nasty looking goblin there, examining a chunk of metal. He smacks the kobold who presented it to him, saying he would not stand for them bringing him crap like that. He says any fool can see it's the wrong mineral. The kobold is on the ground, begging for mercy. The nasty goblin says mercy is for the weak and kicks the kobold. He then tells the kobold to get back to work and don't bring him any more crap or next time the penalty would be death. The kobold can barely stand, and is moving slowly away. The goblin tells the kobold to move faster or he might change his mind and kill the kobold now. The goblin looks over and finally sees us, and asks who the fuck the three of us are. Three? I notice that the rogue Tigress is not with us. I then spot her in sneak mode over behind the goblin boss. I comment that they are polluting the water, and that has to stop. The goblin laughs and says he doesn't care. That's what he told the kobolds when they bitched about it, and that's what he's telling us. I say I guess that means it's time for him to die, then. He laughs harder. He says his goblins are more than a match for three pathetic humans.

Tigress attacks the goblin boss, which takes him completely by surprise, he spits an obscenity… AAHHH!!! SHIT!!! What the FUCK? We get into a big fight. I am fighting off goblin warriors and throwing out healing spells to allies. I can't see their health bars… so I don't know if they are needing the healing… but I don't want to take any chances. It feels like my supply of mana is limitless, and I credit that to a potion that gives that temporary effect. The goblin army that the boss boasted about proves to not be so tough. Archers are shooting at us from above. Tigress is sneaking around the rim up there and knocking the goblin archers off one by one. On the other side of the room I see a couple goblin archers get attacked by kobolds. It seems some of the more capable kobolds decided to join in the fight. The goblins never had a chance. We wipe out their numbers completely, I see Tigress finish off the boss near the end of the fight. I see Nomad over near the underground stream, he is doing something to clean the pollution from the water. The kobolds keep saying they don't want any trouble, won't attack any people, they just want their home in the waterworks back… I don't see any reason to attack kobolds right now, so instead I heal some of the ones that are more seriously injured. I tell a couple of the kobolds in charge that as long as they're not hostile towards the inhabitants of Stormreach, I certainly have no problem with them. The kobolds say we helped free them, they won't forget that. I'm not really sure that will prove to be true, but Stormreach is used to dealing with kobold problems… and they'll probably be busy for a while cleaning up the mess the goblins made.
    5. 02/14/10 Farmville and DDO

by , 02-15-2011 at 12:16 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any particular plans for this night other than my usual list of goals that stretches from here to eternity. I left my dreams up to my subconscious and Avalon to decide.

      Farmville City
I am in a strange town that looks like a massive farm of some kind crossed with a swap meet… so there are rows and rows of stalls on both sides of some aisles, each of the stalls have various animals in different enclosures. Cows, chickens, sheep, goats… every type. I am wandering through the aisles looking at the animals, and I come to one of the stalls where someone is passing out little baby chickens. I am looking at that and he says he will give me several chicks, he hands me three of them. I need to find a stall to put the chicks in, the man tells me the chicks jump really high and will go over the average height fence so I need to choose stalls where the fences are double height or the chicken enclosure is completely enclosed and covered. So I wander up and down the aisles until I find three different enclosures… Two of them have high fences around the chicken enclosures and the third one has a covered enclosure. The chicks are jumping high, indeed, almost making it over the higher fence!

      DDO - Home Invasion
I am in a rather expensive house, I don't recognize the house I am in. I am there with Tigress, and I feel I am in a DDO quest where the sahuagin have invaded some homes in a town and need to be cleared out before they kill everyone in the town. And, just as I reach that realization, Tigress and I are being attacked by sahuagin. We fight the sahuagin off, I am using my Witchblade sword, Tigress is using a REALLY big axe that looks like it must weigh more than she does! She is wielding it with ease, however, and quickly cleaving off sahuagin heads as they come in and attack her. I am more focused on the sahuagin attacking me, however, and the fight is over rather quickly. Tigress and I look around for a bit more, and we find there had been some kind of electricity being delivered to the house via cannith crystal, that electricity is being used to power quite a few modern technologies. The sahuagin had severed that power supply, so we re-connect it. The sahuagin have also severed the water supply to the house, so we also restore that. The strange thing is there is also a connection that produces an oil of some kind that is supposed to be really good for the skin. These connections are only present in the more expensive looking homes, though. In each home, after we defeat the sahuagin in the house, the people living in the house come out of a hidden cellar and start cleaning up the mess that the sahuagin have made. Each of the families from the cellar bring a small treasure chest as a reward. There are quite a few houses to clear out, and by the time we get to the business district we have a lot of chests that we are somehow carrying with us in a small bag that must have infinite space inside it. There are sahuagin in the shops and businesses, too, so there is still more killing to be done. Each of the shops has a medium sized chest in the back room. There is no actual indication that the chests are ours to take, but we take them, anyways. After all, that's how DDO works… find a chest, loot it! We find one final gathering of sahuagin in the center of town, and this is where we find the leader of the sahuagin group. This is a sahuagin priestess, and she is really a nasty one, she more than makes up for her lack of beauty with her nastiness. This fight doesn't take long, however, I run my sword through the priestess' chest and Tigress relieves her of her ugly head. A huge treasure chest appears in the center of town now, and some of the people in the town are starting to venture out to see what the sahuagin have done and if they are really gone Tigress and I have lots of chests to open, and we start doing that. I don't remember what was found there, but I do remember noting there is a whole lot of awesome treasure in the chests we have gathered.
    6. 02/11/11 DDO Exploration

Plans: No new plans, just the normal tasks and goals. I am camping... I'm not sure what effect that will have on my recall... but I'm hoping for the best.

      DDO Explorations
I am inside of a game of DDO with Tigress. I don't even consider that I'm dreaming, I am too busy thinking how cool my new virtual reality system is. I can't believe how realistic it is, it looks like a really vivid dream. So Tigress and I are exploring an area of the game we have never been in before, we have decided to just explore and kill stuff for now. The area is crawling with enemies, so there is no shortage of things to kill. In fact, we are constantly being attacked by all manner of enemies from orcs to bugbears to goblins to humans, there is hardly a break from it.

We find some caves and hidden places to explore, as well as a few rare encounters. In one chamber we are attacked by a giant orc who seems intent on smashing us into the ground. I use a lightning attack to knock him down and Tigress cuts his throat, killing him. We continue exploring the are until we find a group of Devourer minions making a sacrifice to the Devourer. They have three women tied to a wooden pole, all three of them are naked, and a ring of fire has been lit around the women. The Devourer minions are standing in a circle around the ring of fire chanting in some strange language. A couple more of them are throwing fuel on the ring of flame to make it burn higher. The fire burns so hot the chanting minions have to back off a bit due to the heat. The heat in the center of the ring where the prisoners are tied must be extreme. We are spotted by one of the minions building up the fire, and he announces that there are intruders, kill them! The sacrifice must by completed! A couple of them keep chanting at the fire, most of them attack Tigress and me. Their plan to kill us meets with epic failure as we kill off the attackers with little difficulty. We kill the last two who are chanting at the ring of fire. Now to free the prisoners... But the fire is much too hot to get through to the prisoners. The roar of the flames, over that sound I can hear at least one woman screaming in pain and fear... I want to get to them. Tigress casts an immunity to flame spell on both of us. We get through the flames to the prisoners, who are no longer tied to the pole. The ropes burned away, but there is still nowhere for them to go since they are surrounded by fire. Tigress casts immunity to fire on the prisoners so we can get out of the fire. Once outside I see that the prisoners have burns over most of their bodies. I use healing spells on them and we are able to scavenge some robes off of dead Devourer minions to clothe them. We continue exploring and come to the sea where we are attacked by some kind of giant sea creature that is being controlled by sahuagin.

We defend against the creature until we're able to find a psychic sahuagin controlling the squid. Once that sahuagin is dead, the sea creature feasts on sahuagin before returning to the sea. We spend the rest of the dream exploring and fighting off random enemies, there are no more rare encounters before I wake. The annoying thing is there don't seem to be any chests left by these rare encounters! What a rip off!

      -----

      Map of the World
I am looking at a map with Tigress, it is a huge map that looks almost like a map of the world. The cities and landmarks are all fictional, however. I look at the names on the map and I recognize such places as Korthos and Stormreach as being DDO locations, but there are sooooo many more locations than just those. Are all of those just the small places to be found by exploring? Or are there more cities and stuff that Tigress and I have left to find? I see a couple places near Korthos, to get there a traveler would have to go through an area that had previously been blocked by ice before the dragon was set free. So Tigress and I make plans to more completely search the area around Korthos. There is so much more to do out there! So many more quests wait, so many enemies need to die! Let's go! I am excited to go, but instead I wake up in my bed in the tent.
    7. 02/09/11 Kisses and DDO

by , 02-14-2011 at 01:33 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: Nothing big... MoSh wants to try to talk to the idiots who call themselves his guides, I would like to punch them in the face. The usual list of goals is also part of the plan.

      -----

      Are You Retarded?
I am in MoSh's inner world, out in front of his house. I don't immediately remember why I am there, so I figure the best thing to start with is to find MoSh. I go to his house, and I am greeted at the door by Asuka. She says MoSh isn't here right now. I wonder where I can find MoSh, so I ask Asuka that. She says he isn't dreaming yet, but he should be soon. I go into the house and wait for a bit, Asuka seems to be in a good mood, she is humming a song to herself. I wait for a bit and soon MoSh comes down from upstairs. He seems to know what I'm there for better than I do, so I just listen to him. He says he wants to find out some things from his guides. I follow MoSh for a bit and we meet up with a man, I see another man in the area, they are his guides? He asks what he's supposed to do about Saim. How should he proceed? I ask if they are the ones playing matchmaker between MoSh and these other women. One of them says yes, but... I interrupt, I am annoyed at the fucked up job they've been doing on that topic... I ask them if they're deliberately playing dirty jokes on MoSh or are they both just retarded? The man closest to me gives me a dirty look and asks if I can do better. I mutter that a blind monkey could do better... A website like Cupid.com or something like that would do better... they could at least find single women that aren't on the opposite side of the planet! They don't seem pleased with me, and I figure I could've handled that better...

      The Kiss
Note: This fills the requirements for the basic task of the month for DreamViews, which is to kiss a DC.

I am out in a forest of some kind, wandering along a narrow path through the trees. The birds are singing, there is a gentle breeze blowing... The breeze is slightly chilly, but then someone there with me puts his arm around me. I look beside me and I see Bakura is there with me.

We continue walking through the forest, neither of us is saying anything, but neither of us really has to say anything. I enjoy just being out there with him. The trees slowly thin out until Bakura and I are walking more on a rocky path than a forest trail. We reach a rock overhang where I can look out over the valley below, the view is magnificent.

Bakura and I sit there on the edge, my right arm around him and his left arm around me... It's really very nice. Who needs a waking life boyfriend when I can meet up with guys like this in dreams? I turn to look at him at the same time he turns to look at me, and we kiss... a warm and loving kiss with absolutely no pressure for it to be anything more than a kiss... and the fact it does turn out to be much more than a kiss is exactly what I want. ^_~

Journey to the Center of the Earth
I am at the entrance to an average looking cave. There is nothing out of the ordinary about it, though I have the idea my destination is somewhere in that cave. This is a DDO quest, and I have to go in there and check out what the orcs have been doing down there. I also have an active quest to investigate some disappearances from some surrounding towns. These disappearances seem unrelated to each other, but I have a feeling they are all related to this quest in the cave.

Once I am into the cave I find it is really more of mine, this has been dug out rather than formed naturally. I follow the paths deeper and find those who created the mine are still working it. The passages are crawling with orcs. I have to kill a couple of orcs as I explore the mines. I find that while each level of the mine is quite small, it seems to go down forever. I wonder how long it has taken these orcs to dig this deep. On my way down, four kobolds carrying a container of shiny rocks hurry past me, paying absolutely no attention to me at all. Odd... I kill more orcs, then a human passes me, saying if I am caught standing around they will all be punished. He hurries on. I kill another orc, a kobold sees this and throws himself at my feet, blubbering. I tell him to speak clearly, he says the orcs are working their slaves to death in the mines, there are humans and kobolds, all of them just want to be free. Two orcs come, one grabs the kobold, the other says to put him in the cage as a warning to the others, any talk of freedom means death.

The orc tells me to get back to work or share the kobold's fate. The kobold is begging for mercy, the orcs laugh... right up to the point where I kill them with my Witchblade sword. The kobold is at my feet again, thanking me, I say I need to find the slaves. He leads me deeper into the mines... more orcs die by my blade... we come to the bottom level of the mine where a bunch of bedraggled humans and kobolds are digging in the mines. There is a central chamber where I find out what the orc meant by "the cage" when he threatened the kobold. There are small cages hanging over a deep pit, most of them have dead bodies in them in various stages of decomposition... a couple of them also have live slaves in there with the decomposing corpses... yuck! Those slaves look very weak and sick, no doubt deprived of food and water. There are many orcs... it's killing time! The orcs are taken by surprise as I attack, some go down without a fight, I kill all of them. I free the slaves, heal the live ones in the cages, and teleport all of us to the surface. I am thinking I have a lot if rewards to claim, but it was here that I woke up. For some reason I always wake up before I can claim my rewards! Damn it!
    8. 02/05/11 DDO Non-Lucids

by , 02-06-2011 at 01:21 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any specific plans for tonight, though I was rather expecting a DDO based dream since I have been playing a lot of DDO lately… My main goal is still to have more consistent recall, as that has been very unpredictable lately. I have some recall from last night, and here it is.

      Hell Is For Children
I am in a dungeon like the kind that is found in the online game DDO, Dungeons and Dragons Online. I am there looking for some prisoners, a woman in a nearby town has told me that the kobolds have kidnapped several children and are holding them captive in these very caves. Of all weird things, I have a log book in my pocket and I am able to look back over the goals I have for this quest. Find and rescue all of the children, 5 left. Kill Sagun Krent, who is apparently one of the leaders of the kobolds. Kill Darren Drexel, who is a human traitor, and apparently helped the kobolds get hold of the children in the first place. Destroy the kobold dungeon (optional) is on the end of the list. Ok, so now that I have the goals memorized, I put the log in my pocket and form Witchblade into a sword and armor. The dungeon is pretty basic, there are quite a few kobolds guarding the place, and also quite a few barrels and crates to smash, I am finding a decent amount of money. I find a locked door quite a ways in, and the kobold guarding the door has the key, so I kill that kobold and go into the main prison area. There are a few more kobolds there, I kill them, and then use some thieves tools I have on me to pick the locks to the prison cells that each have a child in them. Four children. One left. I have two girls and two boys with me, they all grab daggers from a pile of weapons stashed in the corner, not wanting to be defenseless. We look for fifth child. There is a torture room, the girl is naked and chained to a table with a kobold on top of her, forcing himself on her. Before I can act, the other four children swarm the kobold, stabbing it with their daggers, it falls off the girl and bleeds to death. Pick the locks on the girl's chains, find some rags to use as temporary clothing, she is more traumatized than the others. On the way out Sagun Krent blocks our exit. I fight him, the traitor Darren Drexel tries to grab the kids, the four stab him to death. The one girl is huddled on the floor. I kill Sagun Krent. All mandatory tasks complete. Now I can recall… no recall button? Of course not! This isn't a game! Kids and I make our way out, killing a few lingering kobolds on the way. I notice some barrels of explosives near the entrance, convenient, so once we're all outside, I detonate them with an energy ball, and the entrance to the cave collapses. All goals complete. I lead the kids back to the town, I use a healing spell on the one girl to help her overcome her trauma. Parents are thrilled to see their kids, want to give me rewards, but I wake up

      One Woman Army
I am in the town of Korthos from DDO, and everyone is in a state of panic. I ask someone what is going on, he says the city is about to be overrun by devourer servants… not on my watch! I go to the front gate where there are a few warriors trying to hold the gates, there are many enemies just outside it. I say I will fight, they say it's too late, and they can't open the gates, they need to give the people a chance to escape. I jump over the gate and I am now facing a huge group of surprised enemies, that seem to be made up of sahuagin, various classes of human devourer minions, kobolds, zombies, and skeletons. What a nice mix. I use an Alex Mercer archetype and form my arms both into his sword blades and charge directly into the group, cutting enemies down as I charge through them, they are momentarily too surprised to respond much, this is totally unexpected. I am in the middle of the group now and I use a tendril barrage devastator attack and send razor sharp tendrils through all of the enemies anywhere near me, huge numbers of enemies of all kinds are killed by this. Now the ones who had been ready to attack are being killed before their attacks can actually land, others are just trying to get out of the path of my attacks. It's the devourer forces who are now panicking, they hadn't realized that many of them could be killed that quickly, so many of them are running away, the leaders are getting pissed and saying it's only one person, kill her, you cowards. There is one leader each, a devourer priest, a sahuagin priestess, a kobold chief, and a necromancer that is of a race I don't recognize. The human priest is closest, so I form one hand into an Alex Mercer claw and crush his neck to shut him up. I use a tendril from my left hand to pull the sahuagin priestess to me and then cut her in two with a blade formed of my right hand. I charge at the kobold chief and knock him to the ground, then impale him there with three tendrils… the necromancer is running, leaving undead to guard his back. I use a variant of Alex Mercer's ground spike attack, sending biomass into the ground that erupts through the ranks of the undead in a wave that keeps going until it catches up with and impales the necromancer. Except for the undead, the enemies are fleeing… cowards… disorganized, fleeing into the hills and surrounding wilderness. I use the blade to cut through the remaining undead, and soon all that remains outside the Korthos gate is a lot of dead bodies and blood. Two stunned Korthos guards are looking out of the gate, gaping at me, one of them says, "What the fuck are you?"
    9. 01/23/11 Shattered Memories

by , 01-24-2011 at 12:20 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: The rest of the dreams from this night are only fragments, and none of them are lucid, but I will post them here because I think one or more of them might have been shared. If you read this and recognize yourself in here, please let me know, otherwise it might have just been a DC that I mistook for you in my non-lucidity.

      Area 51
I am in an underground room, there is no way to see that it is underground, but somehow I know it is. It's just a feeling I get like I am far under the surface of the Earth. I go over to the door and find it's not locked, so I walk right out into the hallway. I have the feeling I'm not really supposed to be there, so I try to avoid meeting anyone as I look through the halls. I hear someone coming and I duck into a small room that turns out to be a storage closet of some kind. The problem is they are coming into the closet… I lock the door from the inside, the door locks manually in there, and then I climb up the shelves and through a panel on the ceiling. I get out of sight just before the door unlocks and a man enters, muttering expletives about the door not needing to be locked with all the security on the entire floor. What security, I wonder, I haven't seen any security… I crawl through the vent system for a while, looking down into the different rooms as I pass. I see a computer room filled with computer operators, a lab with scientists messing around with chemicals, an office with a meeting going on, a room with a couple of soldiers aiming a gun at MoSh… wait a minute… aiming guns at MoSh? They want to shoot MoSh? Not on my watch! I go over to the ceiling area right over the soldiers, and I climb onto the panels that I know won't hold my weight… and CRASH! I fall through the floor and land right on top of the soldiers. One is knocked unconscious, the other is starting to get up when I kick him in the head and knock him unconscious. MoSh pulls a kitten with wires on its head from his shirt somewhere. He says he rescued the cat from having experiments done on it, but doesn't know how to get the wires out… I take the kitten and look at it, the wires don't seem to be causing discomfort to the cat, but then I wake up.

      Area 51: The DDO Version
I am in what seems to be the same complex I was in during the last dream, walking down the same corridors, still avoiding people because I feel I should not be there. Just like in that dream, I enter a closet and climb into the air vent system. I am exploring that, though the rooms I see below are different than before. There are no computers, though there is a room full of kobolds doing something with crystals. There is another room where kobolds are fighting against each other to train. This is really strange… in the next room there are a couple of hobgoblins guarding a large treasure chest. I hear more activity to my right, so I turn down that vent shaft to see what is going on, and I see there is a large chamber filled with hobgoblins and one person fighting them. I see that person and recognize him… he's Tigress' character from our DDO games! What was his name? Nexiel! That's an awful lot of hobgoblins for one person to fight, though, so I look around for something to be used as a weapon. There is a display of swords on a wall, so I drop down over there and grab a sword. I enter the battle with Nexiel, who seems to know me, leading me to believe if it might actually be Tigress. I don't really have much time to consider that with the fighting going on, cutting, slicing, stabbing… the hobgoblins are gone soon, and Nexiel hands out healing potions. It tastes like fruit punch. We go to the next room, make quick work of the two hobgoblins guarding the chest, but before we get to open the chest I wake up.

      The Mist
I am inside an office building yet again, but this time I can tell it isn't underground because there is a window looking outside. It seems I am on about the second floor, but I can't tell for sure because the fog outside is as thick as pea soup, I can't see more than inches from the window. I go to the hall and make my way downstairs where there is a group of people near the front door. I ask what is going on, a man says we are all going to die in here, a woman says we are doomed, there is no escape, and a little girl starts crying. The girl's mother gets mad at the man and woman talking doom, saying they need to shut up and stop scaring the children. I ask again what the problem is. A man tells me to look outside and ask that again, so I do. I look into the fog and ask what the problem is. Sure, it wouldn't be safe to drive in that, but it will burn off in time. Everyone looks at me as if I am crazy, a woman says if I want to go out there and die, be her guest… she isn't going anywhere near that door. Another woman says this is the wrath of God being visited upon sinners everywhere. I just look at them for a bit… going into the fog means death? The wages for sin is fog? I ask if it is toxic or something, an old man says it isn't toxic, but… I ask them what it would take to get them out. A man says there is a big RV out there, if someone could get to the RV, they could all escape. I ask where. He says it is about 600 feet straight out from the door… but that's the length of two football fields! No one would ever make it! Cut that out, wuss… keys, please. The woman who first told me to go ahead and go is now saying she didn't mean it, she doesn't want to see anyone else die. I tell her it's fog, it's not toxic. I'll get the RV. The man finally hands me the keys.

So I head for the door and out it… then I realize I can't see the RV. I ask if anyone has a flashlight, shine it into the fog so I can use that to keep my bearings and not wander off in some abstract direction. A man has a large flashlight from an emergency box and does that. I head out into the fog. Making sure to keep the flashlight beacon behind me, I walk in a straight line towards where he said the RV should be. The fog is actually a bit creepy, it looks like Silent Hill, but I find that rather cool instead of scary. Things are moving out there, thicker areas of fog? It looks like creatures… cool effect… I wish I had something to video tape or photograph with. Something big lands on my shoulder, it is the size of an eagle, but it is not an eagle… it is a cricket! Wtf? It starts chirping in my ear… a deafening sound… I push the cricket off, saying to do that again on the other side, I can still hear a bit over there… The cricket continues to chirp. I continue walking in a straight line and I find there is something right in front of me… it's a spider… a HUGE one…

like Aragog from Harry Potter! It is looming over me menacingly, without thinking I tell him to cool it and go try to scare someone else. The spider obediently goes away. I find the RV and get in, driving it back towards the beacon light. I honk a couple of times and then drive right through the glass doors. Everyone is boarding the RV through the back doors, I get up from the seat and say that was easy… then I wake.
    10. 06/22/10 Dungeon Rescue

by , 06-25-2010 at 05:21 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
… so I figured to open a portal to get MoSh and myself back to my inner world… where he said he would take a look at the locked book from the Akashic records to see if he could help me get it open… (Continued from last entry…)

MoSh and I were in my inner world in my bedroom. I looked around and picked the book up off of my chest of drawers. I looked at the book for a couple of minutes. I remembered that MoSh and Tigress have said they would help me figure out how to open the book. I handed it to MoSh, and he looked at it for a few minutes. He set it on the bed and pointed at it with his pinky. I wasn't sure what he was trying to do, but I left him to do that. Tigress had also said she would help… but she wasn't here. Maybe I should go find her. I was thinking about finding Tigress when I felt like I was going to wake up. But I didn't want to wake up yet, I was on a roll with this nice long WILD. I wanted to know how long I could make it. Wait… it was another goal of mine to attempt time dilation. I would do that quickly before I woke, and maybe I would be able to extend the dream!

My plan was to try Allura's method of time dilation. I figured MoSh would try Walms' method, and then we could determine which one works best. I figured I would have to try both to find which one works better for me… but for now, Allura's method. Her method starts with visualizing or summoning a normal analog clock, a digital one will do no good. So I focused on that clock.

Soon I could see the clock clearly in my mind. I didn't figure there was any need to summon one, actually I thought that might make it harder. The next step is to increase the amount of time that will fit on the clock by compressing all 12 hours into half the space, then filling the empty half with 13 through 24. At this point the clock displays twice as much time as is normally displayed on it. The resultant clock will look like the 24 hour clock shown here.

Since 24 hours are now compressed into the space normally used by 12, this works out to a time dilation of 2 hours of dream time for each 1 hour of IWL time. I focused on using this technique, first vividly visualizing the 12 hour clock and then gradually compressing the time on the clock until it was a 24 hour clock. I continued compressing time until 48 hours fit on the clock. That should be 4 hours of dream time for every hour of IWL time. I didn't know for sure if it was working, but I did notice that the dream had stabilized. So maybe that meant I could call the time dilation of this dream a success? Either way, this dream was going to continue.

Since Tigress had offered to help me with the locked book, my next thing to do would be to find her. I focused on opening a portal to find Tigress. A portal opened. I went to tell MoSh I was going to find Tigress, but MoSh was gone. The book was still on the bed, still locked. I wondered if MoSh had woken up. I wondered if he had discovered anything before waking up… I figured I would have to wait until the next morning and find out if he remembered anything. I went through the portal I had opened to find Tigress…

On the other side of the portal I was in a green field. There was a fight going on not far from us. There were a bunch of people dressed in red robes fighting another person… it looked like one person against a large number. I wondered what was going on there, and I also noticed the single person seemed to be winning. I headed closer to the fight to see if I could figure anything out. I saw that I recognized the single fighter. It was a woman who looked like a paladin from the Dungeons and Dragons Online game, and I recognized that paladin! It was Tigress! Ok, it appeared that if I wanted Tigress' help with anything I would have to help her out first. This looked like the making of a DDO adventure, so I really wanted her to remember this one.

I went over to Tigress, and called to her. She briefly noted me, and continued fighting. I formed Witchblade into a sword and attacked the enemies. I wasn't sure why they were fighting, but I figured Tigress' enemies were my enemies. I engaged the enemies, fighting with my Witchblade sword, blocking attacks, cutting enemies down all around me… with both Tigress and me fighting, it didn't take long before the entire enemy force was taken down. A few remaining enemies fled across the field to a forest. I put my Witchblade sword away and greeted Tigress. I asked her if she was lucid. She said it was finally happening, we were sharing a DDO dream. I agreed that was awesome… what's the quest? She said that there were some people being held captive in the mountain dungeon, and our quest was to rescue them. I said that sounded like a good quest to me! Tigress and I headed across the field towards a mountain. I could see a cave in the mountain, and that was no doubt our destination.

Tigress and I reached the cave entrance in short order. Sure enough, there were more red robed people inside the cave. They were guarding a locked door, but once we killed them, we found a key on one of them and were able to get inside the cave. Beyond the door it was more of a dungeon than a normal cave. There were long halls and large chambers. There were enemies all around, and they all attacked us on sight. Some of them attacked with melee weapons such as swords and maces, others attacked us with projectile weapons such as arrows and darts, and there were even some that were attacking us with energy attacks. We fought the enemies, taking them out quickly as we progressed through the caverns. We searched the underground complex for a while and finally found the entrance to the main dungeon. There were more enemies down there, of course, and there were numerous prison cells.

We killed the enemies that waited for us there, and then investigated the prison cells. In each of the prison cells there was a single prisoner. The prisoners were humanoid in form, covered with fur, had fluffy tails, and there was a flap of skin between their arms and their legs that looked kind of like the 'wings' of a flying squirrel.

The prisoners were all chained and hanging upside down from the ceiling, dangling about a foot off of the floor. They looked badly beaten, badly injured. It looked like they had been beaten, burned, cut… Allison and I got the prisoners down by cutting through their chains. I did a healing spell on the injured prisoners, and then they were ok to get themselves out of the dungeon. We assured them all the enemies in the upper chambers were dead, and the prisoners headed for the exit. We finished releasing all of the prisoners in the prison cells. We went into the next room and found a nightmare…

In the next room there were more enemies, and they had several prisoners in that room, too. One of the enemies had a prisoner tied to a spit and had them hanging over a fire. He was rotating the spit around as if cooking a chunk of meat, but the prisoner tied to the spit was still alive, and already showing signs of serious burns all over her body. Another enemy had a prisoner chained to the wall and was whipping the prisoner violently, blood spraying off with every lash. A third prisoner was chained to a concrete slab and covered with blood, there were several rats chewing on the prisoner's body… a fourth had a noose around her neck and was positioned so her toes barely touched the ground… so as long as she could stand on her toes she would be able to avoid strangling to death… There were four enemies standing around, and they attacked us on sight. We had to fight those four enemies and then the ones who had been torturing the prisoners. We freed and then healed the prisoners, who then headed for the surface, leaving the dungeon quickly.

Tigress and I were now in the torture chamber alone, only dead bodies were there now. I felt like I should be looking for a reward chest and then recalling back to the surface… but this wasn't an actual DDO game! Tigress looked around one more time, apparently making sure that we hadn't missed anything. She came back over to me. I asked if she was going to remember this dream. She said we were playing DDO. I said yeah, but we were playing DDO in a dream. So she would have to remember the dream when she woke up. She said she would remember this when she logged off. Logged off? I repeated that it wasn't a game… it was a dream. She said she was going to log off now. She disappeared. Wtf? She must have woken up… crap. I started feeling like I was waking up… but I could dilate time! I didn't have to wake up at all, or at least not until I was good and ready to! I could spend as long as I wanted in a dream! I tried to focus on Allura's method of time dilation again, but between the excitement at the idea I could stay in a dream as long as I wanted and the fact I was already in the process of waking up, I was not able to focus and I woke.

Note: My list of goals remains long, but I am trying to focus on a couple at a time. Right now I am primarily focused on sharing a DDO dream with Tigress and having both of us remember it and opening that locked book I got from the Akashic Records. With not having my nightly WILD (tonight was no exception) I had better not make my list of goals for one night too long or I will just end up forgetting all of them!

I was in a bed. I rolled over and got up. I looked around. I was not in my bedroom. I was not in a normal bedroom of any kind. It looked like the kind of bedroom one might see in an inn in an RPG. I wondered how I had gotten there. My first thought was that I needed to get home. My mother would definitely be wondering what had happened to me… I looked for my purse. I would call her. I couldn't find my purse. Shit! Where was it? What was happening here? I would get home as quickly as I could to tell my mother I was ok. So I at least needed my car keys… which were probably in my purse… which I couldn't find. Ok… this wasn't turning out to be a very good situation. I thought my keys might be in my pocket… I searched my pockets… and found I was not dressed as normal. I was wearing some strange clothes that looked like something out of an RPG. Everything was all too strange that I finally decided to do a RC… and then I realized I was dreaming.

Now that I was lucid, I left the room and found out I really was in an inn. I looked around the room down below and it was a typical RPG pub. I walked around a bit and I could hear everyone talking. They were talking about an impending attack force coming down the canyon. They were talking about their warriors not being strong enough to hold the attack off, and about how it might turn out that their easily defended canyon hiding place might turn out to also be their tomb since there was no way out except through the enemy forces. People were clearly scared shitless, talking about trying to scale the sheer canyon walls or even killing themselves to keep from falling into the cruel hands of the enemies who would no doubt have torturous deaths planned for each and every one of them. From across the room I heard one woman who didn't sound like she had already given up. She was telling the people they needed to fight for their village and not give up no matter how big the enemy forces appeared to be. No one seemed to be listening to her, and when she asked who was with her, no one responded. A few people laughed. I finally spotted her. She was dressed as a paladin, and asked again if there was no one there with the courage to fight. I raised my hand, noting the Witchblade on it, and said loudly that I was willing to fight. She peered out over the crowd and looked directly at me.

"Raven?!" she asked, "Is that you?"

I hesitated, not sure how she knew me… then she took off her helmet and I immediately recognized her. It was Tigress! I went directly over to her and climbed up on the table she had climbed onto, using it as a stage to address the people around her. She now told everyone that there were two women willing to fight for their village… were there no others? Were all those men who called themselves warriors going to be shown up by a couple of women? Were there no other women who called themselves warriors willing to stand beside their fellow female fighters? Once again no one responded… there were some embarrassed glances around, some nervous chuckles. I told Tigress that we didn't need these idiots. We could handle whatever attack force there was on our own, and have fun doing it. I said I was ready to take this quest if she was. She gave one more look around the room, announced that everyone in the room was pathetic, and said she was ready to kick some ass.

So Tigress and I left the pub full of cowards, the people around us were muttering something about that just meant we would be the first to die, and went outside into the village. Tigress must have been there for a while already, as she seemed to know where to go. I followed Tigress. She went to the front gates of the village. There were guards there that didn't want to open the gates. They didn't seem to think two people stood a chance against the invading forces. We insisted on going out. They finally gave in and opened the gates, announcing that if we really felt like committing suicide that they wouldn't stand in the way. After all, everyone in the town would be dead before long when the enemy forces arrived. We went through the gate, the guards shut and barred it behind us. I wondered why they even bothered closing the gates since they were so sure they would be killed anyhow…

There was a winding path through the canyon. Tigress and I went down the path and around a bend and then we spotted a large number of somethings approaching. We got closer and it turned out there was an entire army of what looked like kobolds. Mixed in among the kobolds were some larger orc type creatures and some that looked like humans. They were all armed with swords, spears, and bows, all in armor. That was definitely a sizable attack force. A hail of arrows shot out of the group at us. Somehow we had been spotted. Tigress had a bow and arrows. She was firing five arrows with each shot. That was an interesting trick. That resulted in a return fire of a hail of arrows, because she was also very fast with shooting them. I saw there were spear warriors just beyond the archers. Those spears up in the air looked like lightning rods! I used Battery and they worked like lightning rods, too. The spear warriors were electrocuted through their own spears. The battle continued. We encountered each other. Tigress and I were both using our swords now, I formed my sword from Withcblade. Both Tigress and I were moving like lightning. Much faster than the kobolds, orcs, and human enemies. Our swords cut through their armor like it was made of tissue paper. Tigress jumped to a couple of rocks and part way up the canyon wall, then she unleashed another rain of arrows. The enemies kept coming. I cut some more down, threw some fireballs at more of them. Tigress got tired of the bow and arrows, changed into a werewolf and jumped down off the canyon wall. She tore into a bunch of the enemies with her claws, leaping from one enemy to the next. In spite of the fact we were sorely outnumbered, we fought until all of the enemies were either dead or retreating… mostly dead. The battle was over.

Tigress and I returned to the village. The guards on the gate looked quite surprised to see us back in one piece. They were just staring. Tigress said the enemies were all either dead or they had fled for their lives. The guards seemed reluctant to believe that. I noticed for the first time that Tigress had a severed head… yuck. Apparently it was the head of the leader of the enemy forces, as it convinced the guards that we had indeed been victorious. They let us into the village now. Tigress showed the head to prove the danger had passed, at the same time as she made fun of all of those people who called themselves warriors and had not had the guts to go out there and fight for their village. It looked like they weren't sure if they should be happy with us for helping them or annoyed for calling them cowards… but the thing was, that was what they were… a bunch of cowards. Overall, the view of us was that we were some kind of heroes… which I really didn't care about. I told Tigress maybe we could go out and explore a bit. She said sure, but then she disappeared… damn… she must have woken up. The people from the town were silent now, staring at where she had been. They were muttering amongst themselves about what kind of magic she had just used. I thought I could still explore a bit. I took to flight and looked down, wondering which way to go. I had just barely gotten to go anywhere before I woke.
    12. 06/10/10 DDDO: Dream Dungeons and Dragons Online

by , 06-12-2010 at 02:48 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: I had a whole one night WILD streak… lame. I didn't succeed in a WILD tonight, and my goals were pretty much the same as last night. I have a list of goals I am working on, tonight was to be focused on sharing a DDO dream with Tigress and unlocking the book from the Akashic Records, and viewing a dream MoSh had where he told me don Juan left a message for me if I can find it. Hmmm… one out of three ain't all that good!

I was in bed. I sat up and looked at the clock. It wasn't on. Damn… power outage. Now I would have to reset the clock and the alarm… fortunately there wasn't anything I particularly had to get up for the next morning. I lied back down on my pillow, but then my pillow squirmed from underneath my head, hissed at me, then jumped down and left the room. Oops… that was a cat… and apparently she didn't appreciate being used as a pillow. I sat back up, thinking I should do a RC before going back to sleep. My RC revealed that I was dreaming.

Ok. My first goal was to have a DDO dream with Tigress. To do that I would first find Tigress. I focused on locating her and opened a portal. A portal opened, I went through it. On the other side of the portal I was in a strange place. It looked like a dungeon of some kind. Was Tigress already in the DDO dream? Because this definitely looked like a possible DDO dream… I looked around to see if there was anyone else there with me. I wasn't alone. There was a man and a woman there with me. I looked at them… Tigress and MoSh. I said hello to both of them and gave each of them a hug. We were all together in a DDO dream!

Ok. I wasn't sure what the goal was, and neither was anyone else it seemed, so the first thing to do was to just explore the dungeon. The three of us began looking through the dungeon. There were enemies there. We came across a group of kobolds.

I formed Witchblade into a sword and fought them in the manner I would fight them in a true Dungeons and Dragons game. Tigress also had a sword, MoSh was just beating the shit out of them… A bit farther along the dungeon we found a group of orcs. We quickly dispatched of them, as well. They had been guarding a door. Unfortunately the door was locked, and none of the orcs had the key… so we headed in the other direction. A few more battles with kobolds… this was proving to be quite a fun dream… and then we found an encampment of kobolds. There were quite a few of them, and we covered each others' backs as we took them all out. The sheer number of kobolds in the room made this a bit more of a challenge than the previous fights. A couple of them seemed stronger than the average kobold, too. When we finished, there was a chest in the back of the room. All of us went to the chest and opened it. There was an array of treasures in the chest, gems and gold, and there was a cool looking sword. Tigress looked at her own blade, which was charged with elemental fire energy, and kept it. I looked at my blade, Witchblade, and I kept that. I handed the sword to MoSh since he didn't have one. We gathered the gems and treasure, the last item in the chest was a key, Tigress grabbed the key and then we left the room through the same path we had entered it through.

The three of us made our way through the passages back towards the locked door. Most of the passages were empty, but there was a hidden door that had opened. Kobolds were swarming out of it to ambush us as we tried to return to the locked door. MoSh, Tigress, and I all engaged the kobolds in battle and we were victorious. Dead kobolds now littered the ground. The three of us continued until we found the room with the locked door, which was still littered with the bodies of fallen orcs. I thought about the fact they disappear in DDO, but apparently not here. Tigress had the key and she unlocked the door. We all went through it.

On the other side of the door we were in a larger chamber. There were distracted orcs in the room. I wondered what they were doing… Tigress snuck up on one and killed it with one strike. That alerted the others. We got into another battle. We fought our way through the orc infested chamber and over to a narrow passage out the other side.

The orcs didn't seem to stop coming. Kill one, three more came in. Once we were all in the passage, we slammed shut a stone door and barred it from the other side. Good. I could hear orcs pounding on the door, but it was holding up to their pounding quite well. They wouldn't be following us down this passage.

The narrow passage was dark and ominous. It was creepy. There were spider webs on the sides of the passage, and that just made it look even creepier. The three of us finally reached the end of the passage. We were now in the largest chamber yet. There was a path around the chamber about halfway up the wall, and ladders led down to the bottom of the chamber. Tigress swapped her sword for a flame bow. She said she would cover us from above, because this looked like a trap. MoSh and I climbed down into the pit… and sure enough, it was a trap. The far wall of the chamber collapsed, and a giant spider came into the room. It was HUGE. And it looked pissed. A bunch of smaller spiders also came. By small I mean about the size of a German Shepherd… compared to the big one which was about the size of an elephant… We got into a fight with the spiders.

I fought my way through a lot of the spiders. MoSh apparently decided he didn't want to mess with the blade and changed into a large winged cobra. Tigress was up on the ledge, and she was proving to be deadly accurate with her arrows. One arrow pierced the head of each of the dog sized spiders she aimed at, and that made the spider burst into flames. She had cleared my way to the big spider. I went in quickly, aiming for one of its legs. The spider shot web at me. I cut through the web and then through its front right leg. The leg was hanging on by skin. Tigress fired a couple of arrows into the big spider. There were poofs of flame where the arrows hit, but it didn't kill the spider. The spider turned and fired web at Tigress. She dodged to the side of the web. While the spider was distracted, MoSh bathed it in green flames. The whole spider was flaming. I was attacked by some dog-sized spiders. I ran them through with my sword. A stream of web was aimed for Tigress. I intercepted it and cut it down. Tigress nailed two dog-sized spiders trying to jump on me from behind. MoSh had bitten the huge spider… yuck… I didn't envy MoSh. Enough playing around with this boss. I jumped to a pile of crates, to a taller pile of crates, and onto the spider's back. I ran Witchblade right into the spider's head. As the spider turned, one of Tigress' arrows went in to one of the spider's eyes and disappeared completely. Whether due to the poison, the sword in the brain, or the flaming arrow through the eye and into the brain, the spider finally collapsed and burned into a pile of ashes.

MoSh turned back to normal. Tigress came down to join us. There was a chest in the middle of the room where the spider had fallen. We went there to open it. We all opened the chest together and looked in. There was a treasure inside it. There was also a strange blue orb. I wondered about the orb. Did it have magical properties? I picked up the orb to look at it. There were words written deep within the orb. I looked closely to see what was written there. The words said, "This is a dream." Wtf? Oh, well… this was a dream DDO level… what else had I expected. I passed the orb around and everyone had a good laugh about it before I woke.
