    1. 07/25/2011 DDO, Oceans, Apologies

by , 07-26-2011 at 03:36 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Last night's dreams seem to be a little more along the lines of my usual dreams, though I was never really lucid. I am figuring that lucidity will improve as my recall improves.

      Free For All
I am a fighter in a game of Dungeons and Dragons Online, I am carrying a nasty and cool looking sword. There is a tournament of some kind going on, where players are all fighting against other players. Things are set up so players can get KO'ed but not killed, so the scores are based on the overall performance and 'kills' by each player. I am fighting against a rather big guy with an even bigger axe. He proves to be very strong, but his tactics are way too predictable. After avoiding a couple of his attacks I am able to identify a pattern in his attacks and get past his defenses. I knock him out and then continue exploring a forest area where the tournament is taking place, it is a very realistic looking forest, looks just as real as any forest in the waking world. I am a bit distracted by the surrounding environment when I get surprised by another player attacking me. This is a man with a sword, and as opposed to the first one, he seems quite a bit more skilled. This fight goes on considerably longer than the first one, but I am finally able to get the upper hand and take him down. I am quite a bit more tired from that fight as I continue exploring the forest.

      Aquarium Jumping
I am at some huge series of aquariums, looking at the various ocean life in them. There are assorted fish, many kinds of fish, in every imaginable color. There are also sharks, stalking the aquariums as if they are on the hunt. I see a woman in the water, she is swimming as if she herself was part fish, swimming like a mermaid and I see she is one… She is jumping like a dolphin. Jumping from one aquarium to another, practically flying between them. It seems the sharks are trying to catch her, jumping out of the water and grabbing at her, but always a bit too slow as she proceeds to the next aquarium. It seems she is trying to jump from aquarium to aquarium until she reaches the safety of an aquarium not far from me where there are only fish, no sharks. I see there is a man in one of the tanks, one of the tanks with sharks in it. He is trying to get to the side of the tank to get out. The mermaid jumps into his tank and tries to get him to hang on to her properly so she can still jump. But instead he seems in a blink panic and is grabbing frantically at the mermaid to keep from being pulled away by a shark. She tries to jump with him on her but can't do it, instead, his blind panic makes him lose his grip and fall back to the water while the mermaid clumsily falls in a neighboring tank. The sharks swarm the man and tear him apart in a feeding frenzy. The mermaid looks sad that she wasn't able to save him, but no less determined to save herself… she takes advantage of the distraction and makes the final few jumps to the safe tank. She swims over to us observers and hands me a beautiful flower, saying life was needlessly lost, but don't let any more sparks die.

      Imagination Is Real
I am in a strange place with some other people. I think one of them is MoSh, another of them might be Nomad… We are all in a world that somehow doesn't seem quite stable, it seems to be changing and shifting around us. The world around us is reforming as time passes, morphing from one form into another. Someone is talking to us, I don't see the person who is speaking, but the voice sounds familiar, maybe it is Q? He is talking about traveling through dimensions without actually opening a portal, just phasing through the dimensional boundaries, sliding sideways sort of through the worlds and watching them slip by. The effect is that one feature morphs into another as everything gradually shifts from one place to another. Mountains slowly smooth out into hills, flat areas rise up to form mountains, low areas fill up with water and then rise up and are covered by trees… buildings sprout out of nowhere and various races of people, not necessarily all human, are living there and going about their lives without seeming to notice us. For a while we are under water and there is a society of dolphins swimming around us. Q says for me to imagine where I want to go and I will soon be there. He says that whatever I can imagine exists somewhere, the universe is that vast. So when one person tells another, "That isn't real… you just made that up…" is really a nonsensical statement since it surely exists somewhere.

      Precious
I am in a room with my ex boyfriend, he is singing a song, I recognize the song is titled Precious by Depeche Mode. It seems he is trying to say he is sorry for how he has treated me in the past. Here are the lyrics to the song:

Precious and fragile things, need special handling.
My God what have we done to you?
We always tried to share, the tenderest of care.
Now look what we have put you through.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

Angels with silver wings shouldn't know suffering.
I wish I could take the pain for you
If God has a master plan that only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

I pray you learn to trust have faith in both of us.
And keep room in your hearts for two.

Things get damaged, things get broken.
I thought we'd manage but words left unspoken
Left us so brittle there was so little left to give…

    2. 02/19/11 Back to Work, Missing Link

by , 02-19-2011 at 11:08 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      The Halls of Data
I am heading to work at a hospital where I am a computer operator. I am parking in a huge parking garage that is arranged more like a massive maze than a regular parking garage. My mother is in the car with me, I am taking her to show her my office. We park at what is near the far side of the parking garage and then navigate the endless passages to get to the entrance of the hospital. I know exactly how to get to the data center, though the halls in the hospital are just as confusing as the parking garage. Two different times I lose my mom and I have to go back to find her. The data center is full of various computers, some of them are state of the art, others are ancient dinosaurs.

It turns out the dinosaur computers are nearly as useful as the new ones. Several employees are heading out for a smoking break, and I go along with them. We are outside on a patio and everyone lights up cigarettes and starts to smoke. A woman coworker notices I don't have a cigarette, so she lights one and hands it to me. I take the cigarette and take a drag from it. The smoke tastes gross, though I get a nice calm feeling along with it. The feeling has nothing compared to the horrible foul taste, and then there's the smell. The foul odor. I definitely don’t want any more of that. We are all playing a game of cards to win small colorful dragon figures that are encased in yummy candy. I win a large number of them and I sit back against the wall eating the candy.

      The Missing Link
I am on an island in the middle of the ocean. I am looking all over the island for Link, from the Legend of Zelda. There are enemies attacking me, they look like some kind of piggish orc or something like that… I have a sword and shield, I am able to fend off their attacks. I am cutting down the attackers as they come. Finally there is a break in the attacks, and I am able to search the island for Link. No sign of him. I go to a dock and get on a small ship and I head to the next island. I know Link should be somewhere in this area, somewhere in this little group of islands. So I search the islands one by one, fighting my way through each of the islands… but I still have not found any sign of Link. I am getting quite worried now, thinking I might not be able to find him at all. This quest might end with epic failure. I am standing on a high cliff overlooking the ocean below when a strange old man walks up to me. He is a short and fat old man, wearing a really ratty hat and an otherwise nice suit. He says he knows what I am looking for, or rather who. He says Link is in the underwater kingdom of the merfolk. He says their kingdom is directly down below, in the deep ocean. I look down off the cliff and into the water. I think I can just jump down into the water and I can swim down and find Link. I ask the man if the water below is deep enough to jump into, but before he even answers I say to hell with it and jump out as far as I can. I plunge into the deep water and swim down from there, heading down into the depths. Merpeople of some kind are interfering, attacking me with spears, I fight back with my sword, though it is a bit harder to do underwater.

I can breathe underwater just fine. I swim into some caverns below, into one big underwater chamber. There is a bubble of air in the center of the chamber and Link is in that bubble. I fight my way through some more merpeople until I reach the bubble.

I take out a ring of waterbreathing like the one in DDO, and I give it to Link. A bubble of air forms around his head, somewhere I find an extra sword to give Link, and we are able to fight our way out of the cavern together and make it to the surface. We are get out of the water and onto one of the islands, the merpeople can do nothing but float in the water and throw curses at us.
    3. 10/10/10 Zombie Lagoon

by , 10-12-2010 at 04:54 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I thought I was about to wake up, so I told MoSh and Asuka that. MoSh asked if I couldn't dilate time, I said I certainly could try that, so I focused on Allura's method of time dilation. That seemed to work, the dream became stable again, so I figured we could keep going. I focused on opening a portal to find Kaomea, then MoSh and I went through the portal.

As MoSh and I stepped out of the portal, I looked around to see we were now on a beach next to what I thought looked a bit like a lagoon, or it at least looked like the lagoon I used to see when watching old reruns of Gilligan's Island… I looked closer and spotted Kaomea on the beach, she was looking out over the water and didn't seem to have noticed us yet. MoSh said her name, and she looked over at us with a weird smile on her face. She climbed up on a rock and slipped off all of her clothes, so she was now standing up there in the nude… I wasn't sure what to make of that… She looked directly at MoSh and then jumped into the water, turning into a mermaid on her way down and entering the lagoon with a splash. She surfaced and looked over at MoSh again, then proclaimed she likes swimming naked with men who have old souls… uh… I wasn't sure what to make of that, did it confirm she needed healing? Was that her normal behavior? I had no clue…

MoSh apparently took it as in invitation, as he waded out into the lagoon, I'm not sure if his clothes disappeared, but if they did, they didn't vanish until that part was underwater. Kaomea giggled a bit, it appeared to me she was a bit amused by his modesty, which I figured was because I was there. Kaomea hadn't really acknowledged my presence at all, and if she was going to want to get hot and wild with MoSh, that was something I didn't really want to hang around and see. But MoSh had seemed so sure that she needed healing, so I figured I would stick around for a bit longer and make sure nothing bad happened.

As MoSh and Kaomea moved farther out into the lagoon, I saw there was a whirlpool out there that hadn’t been there just a moment before. There were figures coming out of the whirlpool, too, which didn't seem too likely, and the things coming out of it were butt ugly. There were zombies coming out of the whirlpool, zombies that distinctly reminded me of the evil pirates in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the ones that turned into zombies when the light of the moon shined on them. Of course right now it was daylight, and these zombies looked every bit as disgusting as the ones on Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and the strangest thing was a couple of them were whispering something to Kaomea. She was listening intently to them, then she turned towards MoSh and smirked. She said if he was her soul mate, she was going to kill herself right now so she could spend eternity with the zombie pirate to her right. My stomach churned and I thought I might vomit when she kissed the thing, kissing a zombie? That was truly disgusting, and when she pulled away I could see the slime of decaying flesh sticking to her face, though she seemed completely unaware of it.

First MoSh looked stunned, then he looked mad, leading me to wonder if he had somehow forgotten the reason we'd had for tracking Kaomea down in the first place, to heal her from dark energy infection. Apparently she was still infected, and those zombies weren't making things any better. And she was getting nasty, too, she was telling MoSh that there was no way that any woman would put up with the likes of him, that he would grow old and die a complete no one and when he did die, no one would give a shit, that all that would be left is for him to sink into the realm of the forgotten souls and rot there for eternity, she was laughing in a nasty manner…

While she was coming up with nasty things to say to MoSh, I had turned into a mermaid and swam out towards her, she still wasn't paying any attention at all to me, I figured that was fine… she didn't need to be paying attention for me to do a healing spell. She was saying more nasty things to MoSh that I didn't catch, and then I was focusing on Touch My Heart. Before the spell could really get started, however, MoSh was charging at Kaomea, getting mad at her for deceiving him, for playing games with him when she knew perfectly well he was seriously looking for Asuka's twinner in his waking life. I did a brief double take, but then I swam away from Kaomea and grabbed MoSh, I saw all the zombies standing around Kaomea laughing at us, she was laughing right along with them, I told MoSh to quit it, we had known before coming here that Kaomea was infected with dark energy, this was just a symptom of that. He didn't seem to quite get that, so I told him that I would take care of healing Kaomea if he could just keep the zombies off of us while I was doing it. He finally agreed to that.

So while MoSh was attacking the zombies, I went over to Kaomea and focused again on the song Touch My Heart, using it to pull dark energy out of her and replace it with light energy… if she was Asuka's twinner, then she should be using light energy… This time the song played through without interruption. I saw MoSh off to the side a couple of times doing an interesting version of underwater martial arts… and kicking serious zombie ass with it. One of the zombies got almost close enough to interfere with my spell, but MoSh interfered with him and kicked him so hard in the face that his head flew off. I was thinking MoSh had been acting a bit negative himself, so I finished Touch My Heart, directing some of the healing energy at MoSh, as well. After this was done I woke.

Note: I don't have any solid memories of when I was going to share a dream with both of them to try to remember music, but I am remembering some music that I don't think I've actually heard IWL.
    4. 10/06/10 Under the Sea

by , 10-08-2010 at 09:31 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: I know I have been away from posting dreams for a long time, and that is because I haven't been remembering any dreams. I have been having an extended drought in the area of dream recall and lucid dreams, but for last night I actually have something to post! What I remember is a lot of fragments, but part of it was even lucid, so I will post it all here. I finally remembered dreams again! Yay! My first point was to meet Tigress in the tower on the moon, so when I surprised myself by entering into a WILD, that was my first goal.

I was lying in my bed with my light / sound machine on, focusing on letting my body fall asleep while my mind remained conscious. Almost without even realizing what had happened, I slipped into a WILD. I was still thinking about my first goal, thinking I was still awake and had to use the bathroom. I got up and realized my door was closed, which is not normal, I leave it open so my cat, Midna, can sleep with me. I opened the door and found myself looking out of my bedroom into the sickbay of the tower on the moon. I did only a brief double take before realizing I was definitely dreaming, I was already in the WILD.

So now that I was in the WILD, I entered the sick bay and looked around. Janet and Tigress were in the room, Tigress was lying face down on one of the beds, and Janet was scanning her with a strange device. I remembered telling Tigress I was going to try a healing massage on her back, and Janet was also going to take a look. I went over to the bed and was going to wait for Janet to be done examining Tigress…

Some other stuff happened there which I think involved me completing the healing massage, but the next fragment I remember clearly included Tigress, Link, Janet, and me on the beach, I was looking out over the ocean with the adult form of Link by my side, it was an entirely beautiful scene. Tigress said the merpeople were in this ocean, and then she headed out into the waves. I followed her and Janet, then finally dove into the water and transformed into a mermaid at the same time. The four of us swam down into the ocean, at first the water felt kind of cold, but I soon adapted to it and found it felt very nice. We swam down, I watched the colorful fish around us, and we were soon greeted by a merman who indicated we should follow him. We went deeper into the ocean, it was getting darker as we went deeper, but then we came to an area which was illuminated by glowing plants and mosses. It was a really cool effect. The merman we were with said we had been expected, I wondered who had told them to expect us, but I figured it didn't really matter, it was probably Q. We were swimming towards what looked like an underwater stadium where this fragment of memory ends…

There must be some more stuff I forgot, because the next piece I remember I was in the stadium, swimming out in the middle of it with a bunch of merpeople. I felt I knew what was going on, everyone had on a different color belt indicating which of the two teams they were on, there was blue and yellow. I looked and noted I had a blue belt on. The other merpeople with blue belts were chasing after the merpeople with yellow belts, and they were all chasing after a ball of some kind that was drifting through the water. One of the yellow team hit the ball with his tail, sending it towards a goal, but a goalie for the blue team sent it right back out again to one of my teammates. With a blue team merman on each side of her, the blue team mermaid batted the ball with her tail and guided it towards the other goal. One of the yellow team managed to swim in and got his tail on the ball, sending out off to the side… in my direction. No one had been paying much attention to me, I had the idea I was just in this game because they were trying to be nice and let me play a bit, so I would just have to show them that I could contribute to the team, too. I went after the ball and hit it with my tail, hitting it away from a couple of approaching yellow team players, then I followed it and hit it back in almost the opposite direction as hard as I could, catching the yellow goalie by surprise and scoring a goal. I could hear the merpeople in the stands cheering, I thought they would mostly be surprised, and I was glad I had been able to at least score a goal… and that's the last clear memory I have from that part…

The next clear memory I have is when I was swimming along in an interesting place with Tigress, Janet, and Link. I didn't notice for sure if Tigress and Janet were merpeople, but I still was, as was Link. We were swimming through water that felt strangely warm, and very relaxing. There were colorful luminous flowers all over the ocean floor that gave off a rainbow of colored light that was very beautiful. We passed the rainbow flowers and entered into what looked like ruins of some ancient temple. The ruins continued, and I realized it was much more than a temple, it looked like the ruins of a lost city. I saw Janet and Tigress swimming very close together, and I felt Link was right beside me. I remember swimming through a particularly interesting series of pillars that looked like ruins from ancient Greece or Rome, I was wishing I could take photos from the dream plane into my waking life, I would really like to remember that. Since I couldn't pull out a camera, I continued looking around, trying to take in every detail of the place, I was thinking maybe I could create a digital picture of it in Photoshop or even a 3D rendering of it. This is the last part of the dream I remember, though I think it continued for a bit longer.
    5. 07/23/10 A Day at the Beach

by , 07-26-2010 at 08:42 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I was on the beach, walking along the shore and looking for seashells. It was a beautiful day out, the sun was actually a bit on the hot side, but that was balanced out by the cool breeze blowing in off of the ocean. What a wonderful day for a walk on the beach. I was wishing I had brought my swim suit because now, as I watched the waves rolling in from the endless blue horizon, I wanted to swim out into the water and let the waves carry me back to shore.

Well, I couldn't swim but I could definitely wade. So I took off my shoes and socks, rolled up my jeans, and waded out into the ocean until the water was about up to my knees. I continued walking along the shore, enjoying the ocean breeze, the smell of the ocean, the sounds of the seagulls, the fact there weren't any other people out there… but wait… I did see another person a bit farther up the beach. Crap. Well, I could at least hope there weren't very many people, maybe even just the one. I wasn't about to change my course just because there was one person on the beach, so I continued walking and got closer to the person, who turned out to be a man, and as I got closer to him I realized I knew him!

"Nomad?" I asked, surprised to see him.

"That's me," he said, "This is a dream, and I was about to ride a dream wave all of the way to the moon! Hop on the next wave and ride with me!"

Riding waves to the moon? There's no way that could be even remotely possible, although Nomad looked like he was being completely serious about the idea. I then registered the rest of what he had said, this is a dream, and he was going to ride a dream wave. Not just a normal wave, a dream wave. So this was a dream, then? I confirmed that it was definitely a dream when I did a RC, turned to Nomad and said this really was a dream.

Before anything more could be said about riding waves all of the way to the moon, however, the calm peacefulness of the beach was shattered by harsh yelling, energy blasts firing, and swords clashing. Who the hell was making so much noise?! I looked and saw that the beach was covered by Templars now, stupid Templars have to come around and ruin everything, and they apparently had come to attack Nomad or me or both of us.

Nomad transformed into a giant shark that was sparking with electricity. When he did that he was in mid jump and he came down on top of a few of the Templars and appeared to swallow them whole while shocking the Templars that just happened to be too close to him. Of course that left this huge sparking shark on the beach, when he would have been much better off in the water, so I telekinetically tossed him into the water, and then I threw a few Templars in after him so he wouldn't be alone out there. He seemed to think the Templars looked tasty, as he started eating them whole, I wondered if the lightning around him meant they were at least cooked before he ate them, and my next thought was, "Yuck! Nomad, you'll get diseases from eathing those things!" As if acknowledging that, Nomad spat out a chewed up Templar onto the beach, which was quite disgusting, and terrifying to one of the other Templars who ran for his life down the beach. That was the only Templar with a brain, however, as the others all yelled and came to attack both Nomad and me.

It was about here that Nomad figured out that since he was a dream shark he could swim just fine in the air instead of in the water, so he jumped out of the water and chased Templars around on the beach, grabbing them in his massive jaws and literally biting them in half… other Templars came straight at me and attacked, they got greeted my my Witchblade sword for their troubles. I told one of them that seemed hesitant to attack me to go away and leave Nomad and me alone, we were just trying to have a bit of a fun dream, hadn't been looking for any trouble with the Templars, so just go away! He didn't seem to think that was as good of an idea as I did, however, he attacked me anyway and got my Witchblade sword run through him for his trouble. Well, no one could say I didn't try to get them to just go away. The fighting continued for a while longer until the few remaining Templars finally got the picture and ran away through portals that opened up a short distance down the beach, leaving Nomad and me alone once again.

Nomad turned back to his normal self and asked what that thing with the Templars had been all about. I told him I didn't have a clue, I didn't even know for sure which one of us they had been after or if they might have been after us both or maybe they hadn't really been looking for either of us but just happened to find us… Nomad said they were just being stupid like they always are, so now how about riding the dream wave all the way to the moon? He pointed out to the ocean where the moon was rising over the horizon, the reflection of the moon was very clear in the ocean water. A very beautiful sight. Nomad and I didn't end up riding the wave to the moon, but we did have a nice length of time to enjoy the beach and relax there. The water was great, and we even found ourselves to be in the company of dolphins when we transformed to merpeople and swam a bit farther out into the ocean and farther up the coast. I was thinking that if it hadn't been for the interference of those stupid Templars, this would have been a perfect vacation dream!
