    1. 11/08/10 Tower of Illusion

by , 11-13-2010 at 06:17 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: MoSh and I are starting a new plan to increase his lucidity and recall, and hopefully make mine more consistent as well, and it involves MoSh and me sharing repeated dreams, MoSh recalls all he can, and then I fill in the blanks. Our first plan was to explore a tower in MoSh's inner world that was constructed by Walms. The tower is basically a challenge of perception, the goal to simply be to get to the top of it. This was my goal as I turned on my light / sound machine and slipped into my WILD…

I am in the yard outside MoSh's inner world home, and I see MoSh is already there, he was looking at me. I tell him that I am there to go check out the tower Walms built in there, MoSh says he is ready to go. I notice he seems to be in a hurry to get going, but I figure he is just wanting to get going before the dream possibly ends. I ask MoSh where the tower is, he points towards the forest across the street from his house, he says it's off in that direction, then he heads into the forest. I follow MoSh into the forest, and we follow a path that seems to wind around for a while. I wonder how long the trail is, and whether it might be faster to just open a portal to get to the tower. I am about to ask MoSh about that when we come out of the forest and I see the tower up ahead. It is a rather tall and creepy looking tower, it looks extremely tall. I look up and I can't see the top of it. From what I can see from the base of the tower, it has no top, it goes up forever. Well, I suppose that's the challenge, so we need to find a way to the top of the tower, a top that I'm not even sure exists.

MoSh and I look around the base of the tower, it is of a pattern of bricks that looks quite interesting, but there doesn't seem to be any sign of a door. I am thinking it would be really pathetic if we can't even find the entrance, so we continue looking around the tower. Finally MoSh finds a spot in the wall that he says looks different to him, he pokes around that for a while until he finds a particular brick and pushes on it. A bunch of the bricks shift around on their own to reveal an entrance, which MoSh proceeds through. I follow MoSh through the door, and as soon as we are inside, the bricks move on their own again and seal us inside. For just a bit the place is completely dark, but then there is illumination from an unseen source. The room is now filled with a cool blue glow, making the room look really strange. The room is cylinder shaped, though there is a ladder up the far side of the room. The ladder goes up the wall, and then it goes horizontally across the ceiling to a door in the ceiling. Well, the way to do that seemed pretty clear, climb the ladder and then swing across the horizontal ladder like monkey bars, and then deal with getting through the door. So I head over to the ladder, MoSh is right there with me, and we climb up the ladder, MoSh is right behind me. When I reach the top of the ladder, I reach and grab the first ladder rung of the horizontal part, thinking if this was my waking life, this would be really hard. As I grab the rung, however, the entire room shifts, or at least it seems to. Now the horizontal part of the ladder is going up, MoSh is climbing on the floor. Um… ok… so now I climb up towards the door, which is now in the middle of the wall, I notice MoSh looking at me strangely, then he follows me. I reach the door in the wall and reach for the doorknob. The room shifts again, so now the door is in the wall, I am standing on the ladder, and MoSh is crawling on the floor. I open the door, then MoSh and I go through the door into the next room.

I step through the wall and find myself standing on a ledge on the outside edge of a huge spherical room. I look around the room, I feel MoSh standing right behind me, both of us barely fitting on the narrow ledge. Then MoSh is pushing me forward, I am about to tell him to quit it, but I realize the door behind us is closing, and we are both pushed off the edge into the room… where I realize there is no gravity in the room, MoSh and I are sent tumbling into the middle of the room. I look back at the door just in time to see the door close flush with the wall, such that I can no longer see the door. So where were we supposed to go now? There must be an exit somewhere around there, maybe it was another hidden door in the ceiling… but where was the ceiling? I can't even tell which way is up without the aid of gravity, so I'm not sure where to look for the door. Actually, finding a door wasn't going to be a problem… doors appear all over the inside of the spherical room. They are moving, so now I feel rather like throwing up, it is definitely making me nauseous. I try to focus on one spot to keep from throwing up all over the place, and I notice that one of the doors isn't moving at all. It is stationary, not rotating, not moving, so that's the one that must be real. I float over to that door and pull it open, then I call over to MoSh, telling him I had found the exit. MoSh floats over to me and then we both go through the door.

MoSh and I enter another room like the one before, and I soon figure there is a pattern of two or more of those rooms set up connected to each other. It seems like we wander around in them for a bit, but then MoSh and I decide to attach a line to the door we entered through to make sure we aren't backtracking, so we can be sure to get through the rooms as quickly as possible. Finally MoSh and I exit through the final door into a room that has gravity and isn't moving. Now, however, the fact that the room isn't moving seems rather nauseating. I still feel like I'm going to be sick. MoSh doesn't seem to be bothered by it, however, as he starts looking around the new room.

I finally get to a point where I no longer feel like I'm going to throw up, and I look around the room MoSh and I are now in. MoSh is huge! MoSh looks like he's about ten feet tall, he is standing at the end of a hallway. He shrinks down to normal size as he comes back, then he says he found the way through here, I just need to follow him. I follow MoSh to an opening in the wall, it looked like a tiny hole from one angle, but it is clearly large enough to fit through. MoSh says there is another opening on the next level up. MoSh climbs out through the hole, I follow him. We are now on an invisible floor that is so far over MoSh's inner world that I can't even see the ground, but I know there is no way we have gone that far up… MoSh follows an invisible pathway to another hole through the wall of the tower. I follow MoSh and look around the room we have just entered. I don't even get a very good chance to look around the room before a wave of vertigo hits me so hard that I wake up.

    2. 09/05/10 Cursed Tower

by , 09-08-2010 at 02:48 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
My mother and I were moving the last of our moving boxes into the new house, which was much larger than the old one. Comparatively, we were moving from a shack to a mansion practically. There were many rooms, so many that I thought I might get lost in there somewhere, and there were two bedrooms that I particularly liked. The entire house was furnished, and all of the furniture was very nice, but the beds in those two bedrooms were particularly nice and comfortable. I was thinking I might not move my waterbed right in, I might try sleeping on a standard bed for a while, and one of those would be just the bed to try it on. So I chose the larger of the two rooms, both of them had their own bathroom, and I moved my boxes in there.

My mother came in to see the room I had selected, and she said it was very nice. I was going to take a shower or a bath, not sure which, maybe a bath because the tub was so big I could swim in it… but when I turned the water on there was a lot of disgusting brown stuff coming out that I certainly didn't want to bathe in, the stuff smelled like raw sewage… yuck… so much for the bath or shower. I went into the bedroom and was going to get ready for bed, I sat down on the bed to see how it felt… and the bed collapsed. Now I know there is no way I am that fat! I might be a bit over weight, but not enough to break a bed! I turned on one of the lights so I could get a better look under the bed at what might have broken, but as soon as I flipped the switch there was a spark and the light went out, not only that, but the spark set the bed sheets on fire… My mom came in with a fire extinguisher and put out the flames.

Ok, maybe this room wasn't the best choice… did we actually dare stay the night in any of these rooms? My mother said her room was fine, so I went to the room that was my second choice and checked that one out. I was able to run water in the tub and found out it looked clean, the bed supported my weight, and there were no sparks when I turned on the light. That was a good start, so I sat down on the bed and looked around at the furnished room. There was a strange book there, it looked pretty old, so I decided to take a look at it. I opened the book up and found it was about the history of the house I was in right now, and it was a strange history indeed. About 250 years ago the house wasn't a house at all, it was a tower, a tall tower where strange rituals took place. The people performing the rituals had disappeared long ago, and then the tower was transformed. There were three main segments of the house because someone had segmented the tower into three parts vertically and then placed the upper two parts on the ground near the base of the tower, and had then built the three parts together as a house… weird… and I got the idea that the house might be cursed, which was why everything there seemed to be failing…

    3. 06/22/10 Fragmented Memories

by , 06-26-2010 at 12:05 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: The rest of the night was filled with fragmented dreams, and they are all listed out here:

      *Tower Defense*
I was on top of a tower. There were four of us there, and one of the other three was Tigress. I didn't recognize the other two people, but they were men. The tower was circular and quite tall. I could see far out over the surrounding area, which included a cleared meadow area and then a thick forest. The meadow was too circular to have been natural, so I figured it had been cleared to provide a defendable area. The four of us were covering all four directions from the tower. Tigress was on my right. We all had bows and arrows. Enemies were storming the tower. We were picking them off with our arrows. The enemies were firing arrows back, but it was proving harder for them to get their arrows up to the top of our tower than it was to shoot arrows down from the tower at them. I was surprised at my own accuracy. I glanced to my right and saw Tigress was also picking off enemies with deadly accuracy. The fight continued for a while, and was actually rather boring. The enemies seemed to be slowing down, and it was shortly after picking off the last enemy and seeing there were no more enemies coming that I woke.

      *What Goes Around Comes Around*
I was in a subway tunnel. I was walking along the walkway at the side of the tunnel. The path was there for maintenance purposes. I saw there was a subway intersection ahead where two tracks merged into the one. There was a young man on the path with me. He was using a hot glue gun to form words on the wall of the subway tunnel. The words were not very visible, but they would be raised off of the wall slightly. He was doing that when another young man came over and got all kinds of pissed off at him for that. The second man grabbed the glue gun from the one who had been using it on the wall. The second man shoved the hot glue gun in the first man's mouth and pulled the trigger, filling the first man's mouth with hot glue. The first man's cries of pain were muffled. The second man kept adding hot glue until it covered both the first man's mouth and nose, then he dropped the first man onto the ground and watched him suffocate. The killer laughed and kicked the victim a few times as the victim suffocated. The killer headed down the path towards the intersection. He stepped out to cross to the other side of the intersection. Right as he was in the intersection, two speeding subway cars, single subway cars, collided there in the intersection and crushed the killer between them… The car operators somehow got out of there uninjured, there was no one else on board either car… only the killer had been killed. Well that was karma for you…

      *Metallica's New Member*
I was at a Metallica concert. I had a ticket to get in. I went inside the arena. It wasn't a very large arena, and I felt I was very fortunate to have gotten a ticket. I went to find my seat, but my seat sucked. I thought maybe I could find another seat that hadn't been filled. Maybe someone had been unable to attend. I walked through the seats and saw most of them were filled. The concert was about to start. I saw an empty seat. I sat down, it was only five rows from the stage. The concert started, and it was loud. I watched as the band members came out on stage. Lars Ulrich was on drums, James Hetfield was on guitar and singing, Kirk Hammett was on guitar, and then the fourth member came out… and it was MoSh! I did a double take! Wow! MoSh had joined a band! And not just any band, he was now the fourth member of Metallica! I thought that was awesome, I would have to congratulate him after the show. And this meant I know one of the members of Metallica! I could meet the rest of the band, too! I was so excited while I watched the concert. MoSh was rocking! He did a solo part way through the concert… my only thought was wow! The concert ended, and I was headed to the entrance to back stage to see about talking to MoSh, I told the bouncer to just tell MoSh that Raven was there to see him. The bouncer didn't believe me, but I saw MoSh back there and he waved at me, telling the bouncer to let me through.

      *Winter in June?*
I was in my normal house. I left the house to go get the mail. The ground outside was covered with snow! In spite of the fact I live in a desert and this is the middle of summer, I didn't think to do a RC in response to the snow. I threw a couple of snowballs at a large cactus. I threw a few at the house. I hit my mother with one of them. She was not pleased. She told me to stop messing around and go get the mail. For some reason our mailbox was so far away I would have to drive to get there. I left the house in my car. It really was a long ways to the mailbox. I drove down a couple long streets and made several turns before I realized I was hopelessly lost. I figured things must look too different being covered with snow… and so I wasn't recognizing the place. I didn't want to admit to anyone that I had gotten lost when looking for my own mailbox… so I kept looking for it, and I figured to explain why it took so long I would just tell everyone I had gotten stuck in the snow.
