    Anger over stove and phone

May 15-May 16, 2016: S. and A. are in a room with a wooden floor. They appear to be ages four and two respectively. There is no furniture in the room. S. wants his eyes covered so he can sleep. I try fitting a sock over his head but this does not fit well and he doesn’t like it. I then try a green colored woolen cap. This fits just fine and he's happy with it. He walks over to the far side of a mattress which is placed on the floor and I lose sight of him.

    A. is being a bit of a recalcitrant child - in other words, her usual self. She is refusing to go into the shower or take a bath. Instead, she is washing herself down with a washcloth on the wood floor.

The scene morphs, and I find myself in a kitchen. I am facing an old style gas stove. It appears as if water has been poured onto the stove and has filled up the area where the gas jets protrude through the stove. It looks as if L. has tried to boil water on two out of the four of the jets without using a pot. The water is in fact, very hot. In addition, when I confront her with this I also asked her about the whereabouts of her cell phone. I do this because I believe she is on call and I don’t want to be disturbed at night by calls to our home phone. She gives me a vague and indirect answer on the whereabouts of her phone. I get angry about the stove and her failure to answer my direct question about the phone and start to yell at her. I angrily tell her “Listen to my question. Answer only the question that I asked.” She finally tells me that her cell phone is right there in the kitchen.

I go over to inspect the stove. Although old, it appears to be clean and in excellent working condition. L. complains that she wants a new one. I opened the oven door and see that it is almost pristine inside. I then closely inspect a metal label affixed to the front of the stove and learn that the stove is from 1972. I think to myself that the stove in this condition is probably worth a decent amount of money - maybe even as an antique. I tell her it would be fine with me if we sell the stove and get a new one. The dream fades and I wake. Time is 10:49pm.
