Had a few normal dreams involving police - wrongfully accused, escaping from prison, trying to avoid the cops after an accident. Hence the last lucid was me getting my own back on the dream police, kinda

    Short LD "Trapped"
I am in a small room that is both bedroom and kitchen. JR is making breakfast and talking about there being special beds for the FBI. Why are the FBI here? Well to sleep. They get the more comfortable beds. Lucky sods.

One of the double beds, identified as mine, has a woman sleeping in it. She is unfamiliar to me. Probable false memory of us being intimate earlier. I ask her if she wants a cup of tea but she smiles at me and shakes her head sleepily. I put some trousers on and go to get breakfast.

Back at the breakfast table the discussion turns to plans: We will go to a seaside town and build great wooden ships, and sell the experience to people (boatbuilding experience?) It will be called Newmark? Also, we discuss how it will be a free place where people can sing whatever they like without comment.

To get to Newmark there is a bus. We end up on the bus but get stopped at a checkpoint. An inspector raises the bus on a giant hydraulic lift. We stand at the side of the road. Ducking down I can see right under the bus. A lorry filled with huge silver containers drives past. I try to move around the bus as the inspector then says they need to repeat the lift on the other side.

The bus falls back down and then metal barriers form around me. I am trapped under the bus. If the driver leaves now, I will be crushed under the wheels. Intense fear fills me but then I become lucid. I try to phase through the metal but terror seems to be holding me back. Smashing the metal has no effect and my shouts are muffled. I lash out and break sleep paralysis, waking with a jolt.

I am back at my first job. Just been hired. One of the employees shows me around. They take me to the locker room. He tells me that the keys to the lockers must be left next to the light switch. There is a guy standing near the lockers getting changed.
"Should I put on my uniform now?" I ask.
    "No not yet."
I put on my trainers though, as we are about to head outside.

The guy leads me to a station where we jump onto a moving train. The door is small and I have to duck down to get through. This makes me lucid. Scenery is flashing past - countryside, at high speed. I jump off the moving train.

Superhero time! And, based on the last Marvel film I watched, decide to become Dr Stephen Strange. My current clothes are jeans and a T-shirt. I change them into blue robes and red cape. Then it's time for some magic. The first few attempts do not work very well. Thin whisps of magical energy appear in the air. Meh.

I do a complicated tai-chi style gesture and yell "Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!" Streaks of red magic fly out of my hands and towards the closest DC, who gets wrapped up in magic restraints and knocked over. He struggles on the floor.

Okay now to test the cloak of levitation. I jump and sit cross-legged in the air, then start to float along the street above the heads of everyone else. Up ahead there are small spaceships being attacked by beings made entirely from magical energy. I attempt to bind them but my spell merely knocks the being to the ground. It shrivels though, from human sized down to a small ball of glowing light. The miniature space ship is falling so I grab it out of the air and put it down. Tiny people climb out of it.

The glowing ball transforms into a small spaceship as well, trying to mimic the other one in the hopes I will free it. You don't fool me. I bite down on the tiny craft and start smashing it up with my teeth. Meanwhile about twenty robed monks have surrounded me. Instinctively I start casting more spells, creating orange glowing glyphs in the air by doing more tai-chi like gestures.

The monks are armed with wooden quarterstaves. I use the glyphs to clear a path and run for it. A castle with 30 foot walls is ahead. I attempt a invent a teleportation spell on the move. It doesn't work, but the cloak has my back, literally - dragging me up into the air.

From up on the castle walls I can see trains shooting past below. The monks have not followed me. Dropping down on the inside of the castle wall I then move inside the building. The roof is a restaurant with people and tables and chairs, all upside down. I begin to wonder which way is up.

On the wall is a picture of a city in a desert. Hmm, I could try to open a portal using the picture. Raising my left hand I notice two magical rings on my first and middle fingers. I start to make a circle in the air with my right hand to open a portal. A spinning red portal of ringed fire opens. I run through it.

There is sand underfoot. In the distance, the city sprawls in the shadow of a collossal sphinx. This must be Egypt. A huge celebration is taking place in the central square. The roads are lined with small merchant stalls. I grab something off one of them but the merchant doesn't even notice.

I recall the need to find an oasis, and head back out into the desert. It looks like a battlefield - there are aged metal objects in the sand - a helmet. A set of angel wings carved from copper, which has turned green with age. The battlefield seems to be haunted. Ghosts rise around me. I wake up.

I am squeezing out a tube of toothpaste - it globs out all over the pavement. Bit of a waste... so I start scraping it onto a toothbrush. After getting a massive blob of toothpaste onto the brush, I try to clean my teeth, only to find a rock in my mouth.

This must be a dream. After spitting the rock and toothpaste out, I run forwards and find myself in the centre of a town. People are walking around. Things seem quiet. A tall guy with white hair shouts out to me. He is wearing bike leathers and holding a helmet. He seems familiar.

    "Hey. You got a bike?"
    "Yeah! Wanna see?" He replies.
The tall guy turns and walks into an alley. A police officer steps in front of me and blocks my path. He is shorter than me and dressed in the full stab vest and uniform. He puts a hand on my chest to stop me moving past.
"...the fuck? This is bullshit." Why are the cops on my case these last few nights? What did I do?

... and I find myself lying in bed. AB enters, talking about buying a DVD. There are a stack of DVDs next to the bed. "Wait... I heard you leave. Why aren't you at work?"
AB makes some excuse and then goes into another room.

Then I lie down and try to go back to sleep. Immediately a scene forms and I realise it was a false awakening and become lucid again.

I summon a motorcycle in the normal way by faking it, moving down the street until the bike forms under me. It doesn't steer very well and briefly changes into a bicycle before getting under control again. A left turn comes up and I run wide. A car revs its' engine impatiently behind me.

Up ahead is a police motorbike. Heh. Time for revenge. I pull up alongside him, beeping the horn to get his attention. Then I raise the middle finger salute and grab a fistful of throttle. The sirens start and the police bike dutifully starts chasing me. We get stuck in a crowd of people who are crossing the road. I push the bike through and ride up to a rock concert.

The road has ended at a railing, so I grab the bike and vault over it. Then slow the descent of the bike and get back on it. I pull some burnouts before riding through an empty restaurant. I phase the bike and myself through a solid door and into a classroom. There are doors. I struggle to phase through them and wake up.

...but not fully awake. Sleep paralysis. Can't move. Even my tongue is paralysed. Three guys lean over me. One has a baseball bat resting on his shoulder. I can't yell out or defend myself. They start beating me with the bats. I dissasociate with my body to block out the pain. Despite being unable to move I am able to move the visuals away, as if watching a TV.

The dream tries to freak me out by playing creepy music and having disembodied heads fly out of the 'screen' towards me. I still cannot move. 'It won't work, you're just hallucinations.' I think. Then I finally wake up.
