An Argonaut of the dream world, the Oneironaut. Every night a journey, every dream an adventure, every moment a treasure.
Dream 1 - Lord of the Rings I'm with a group of about 7 warriors on a grass plain with a hill that rises up behind us and a couple other hills in front that are lower down. We had been fighting Uruk Hai and had won so far. I then looked at a member in our group scanning the hill behind us with binoculars. I look up too sensing that he had seen something. I saw a single outline atop the hill with a sword in hand. I instantly knew we were about to be attacked again, as slowly more figures began to line the edge of the hill. There must be a hundred or so Uruk Hai about to attack! I run back a little panicked, they started charging down the slope to engage in combat. I turn to the face the other direction, only to see more Uruk Hai pouring over the hills in that direction. We're surrounded. The dream has a game-like feeling as I approach a horse, I try and mount it but I can't! I open up a skill screen and look at my riding skill, it's level 0! Damn, I need at least level 1 to mount a horse. I think to myself how you have to be selective in choosing your stats in Mount & Blade as investing a small amount in some skills early will help. Dream fragment - pope I remember something about a pope in a very grand looking white stone courtyard. Note: I read Oreo's DJ last night (The Great Sphinx) and was really blown away. Such a cool dream. It affected my next dream a little ^_^ Dream 2 - I screwed up a lucid I remember the house I was in was wooden with a white ceiling.. I somehow just remembered that I was dreaming and was like 'oh I should RC too'. I pulled the skin on my hand and it stretched out too far, bingo! I then kind of ran around happily thinking about what to do. The dream felt so stable and clear, I knew this dream would just last for ages and I felt like I could prolong it. I shouted 'Stabilize!' and the dream shook a little, losing clarity (oops) and then coming back into focus. I wasn't too bothered as I felt like the dream reaction was a positive one. I then wanted to travel to the desert and see the Sphinx like Oreo had done, so I decided to teleport. Hmm... How to do this? I ran outside, there was a small stream flowing and light green grass, it was night time. I willed myself to be transported to the desert, leaped into the air and fell backwards so that I would land on my back, then as I fell I closed my eyes and willed my body to be teleported. *Thud*. I collide on the ground, but it's warm and gritty. Sand?? I think to myself that it worked I try to open my eyes, but I can't. Oh ****... No, not again . I try and force my eyes open, and end up accidentally open my eyes in real life. My vision is all screwed up though and I see a skeletal-like head sitting next to my bed. Ugh what the hell? I can tell that I'm awake and having hallucinations, I try and reach up for it, but my real arm doesn't move and instead there's a pseudo arm that I feel reach out. I close my eyes again and I don't remember anything past that. I completely forgot that lucid dream until during my meditation I managed to rebuild it really slowly and in poor detail. I honestly feel like that would have been my longest lucid ever had I not screwed up that teleportation
Intensive DEILD attempt 5: My alarms proved a hassle again, they didn't go off properly. So annoying >_<. I do remember vaguely waking up at one point and rolling around confused though. I woke up at 2:30 after a pretty sexual dream but I can't recall it, I do know that I was in my bed in the dream though fighting off the urges for PMO I think? Dream 1 - Exploring a Tomb I remember walking into a sandstone tomb (imagine a place Indiana Jones would go), though perhaps with some modern attachments such as lights (but really old and powered by old dodgy electrical wiring). I walked down some stairs into a large room the stretched on for a while with a low ceiling. There were lots of sarcophagus' (sarcophagi?) in rows across the rooms, and along the walls were indents with pedestals holding burial urns. In my mind the idea of 'looting' the place like an RPG game occurs to me. I know that sometimes enemies can hide in the sarcophagus' (like mummies) which come out and attack you when you open the lid (ever played Nox?). Other people who are with me seem to be opening the lids a little too hastily, this makes me a little anxious and I decide to head out of the room and get the feeling that some mummies may be about to appear. I heading up the next flight of stairs to where the an Asian guy is sitting on a fold-out chair by the power box for the lights. Suddenly the lights cut out, shit. This is really bad because the people opening the containers downstairs could be in trouble if a mummy appears. The Asian guy isn't aware of the urgency of the situation. I think there's also maybe 2 other companions with me around this point (similar to the 2 who were with me the previous night chasing the Asian woman). One of them had seen 2 of 3 witches standing at the bottom of the stairs looking up at us from behind a wooden pillar that held up the building we were in. They were responsible for the light disappearing. At this time I was next to the Asian guy and was fiddling in my pockets for a little hand held light. He also produced a lighter, igniting a cigarette, the glow illuminating his calm face. I have my hand held light out and turn it on and point it at the power box. I say something to subtly enlighten the Asian guy to the potential direness of the situation "we should quickly get the lights back on, the people downstairs may need it". I think he manages to gets the lights back on, I walk over to by the stairs and look down to see the 2 witches behind the narrow wooden pillar. They're just... Looking at me? Weird. Creepy. I leave back to the power box but as I reach the 3rd witch appears now. Wow, what a beauty! She's floating there with a fur-lined coat, two white streaks that flow back through her black hair. She has a Cruella de Vil 'look' but is stunningly gorgeous and graceful instead of being crazy and ugly. I think I tried to catch her but she teleport away, then I tried jumping over the edge of the railing to get her. I managed to grab her but she swung back and teleported away, disappearing from my grip. I fall to the ground on the floor below and roll. I'm sitting with my legs stretched out in front of me and my hands behind me on the floor holding me up. "Damn, and I didn't even get her number" I say out loud, I feel slick as I say this and let out a *sigh*. I felt like I would see her again. I also felt really slick and smooth like a player or something lol... Dream 2 - Talking to my Dad (fragment) It's night at my parents house and I ask my dad if he wants to go to the gym or a surf in the morning. He tells me 'oh yeah sure' and says something about how he usually gets up at 6am. I readily agree that this is fine with me as I'm used to getting up early now (I seem to say this proudly as he usually has the impression that I'm not an early riser ). Both dreams were pretty nice, the first was quite cool. The second was nice because I'll finally be able to see my family again and I'll probably have that same conversation but in waking life
Intensive DEILD attempt 4: Better than the night before since I actually slept this time. I woke up once to an alarm a little confused, but it didn't go off properly. When I woke up I moved a little due to being confused but I fell asleep again. The 7 other alarms didn't go off properly either so I'll have to try find out why that happened :/ Dream - Chasing someone I remember being in a complex building running down some stairs with 2 other people, a girl and a guy. We had spotted an Asian woman with long dark hair and a plain white dress with no shoes on staring up at us from the bottom of the stairs who was apparently the person we had been trying to find. She bolted away so we sprinted after her. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs we looked around and saw an entrance which we thought we saw her run into. I'm the last to enter the room, it's a shallowly downhill sloping corridor that has a dead end after 10m. The ground has a 1inch high layer of flowing water. The others are looking around the room confused and begin exploring it trying to discover how the Asian woman escaped. I'm still at the entrance, I look to my left and see a bunch of green goo start flooding out with the water current. It's sticky and acidic. The ceiling starts to slowly come down. We've activated some sort of booby-trap. The others are scrambling to get up and out of the room, but the combination of flowing water, the slope and the sticky green goo that starts burning their skin makes it exceedingly difficult. I'm lucky I'm at the entrance... I don't know if they manage to escape. I do remember that the green goo was on me too and I was scrambling around on the ground pulling myself out of the room, but I didn't feel any real connection to the scene. Next I decided to run in another direction, there were these wide ascending stairs which I ran up two steps at a time. I began to see other people, I had to hide my identity so I put my hood up. They weren't human, their eyes reflected the light and they had pointed ears - vampires. I kept my head low and walked through crowds of them, it was like a market place that was underground in some steam punk world. I thought one of them noticed I was a human and began tailing me but I pretended not to notice. I was trying to find that Asian girl.
Intensive DEILD attempt 3: Nothing . I woke up to the sound of a rooster wailing out of my phone over and over on max volume which seemed to shock me awake a little too much. I then spent the next 2 and a half hours lying in bed trying to fall back to sleep until I just decided to get up and start my day instead. Fun times .
Intensive DEILD attempt 2: Didn't wake up to any alarms last night (there was about 8). I got home late (past 9) and had a really late dinner, so I didn't get to go to bed until 11ish. This screwed up the timing for my alarms. Also I changed my alarm ringtone from rooster to random music on my phone and it isn't loud enough so I'll change it back. Dream - Superman is Evil There was quite a bit that happened before the main part I remember, it's a bit hazy though. I recall that Superman had turned evil, like he does in the movie (which I haven't seen, but I've played 'Injustice: Gods Among Us'). I think I can kind of do 'super' things, though I'm extremely weak compared to Superman. There seems to be a dragon that we killed at some point too, it was HUGE. The area we're in is like a lake with forest bordering the sides and a tower outpost in the water 10-20m from the edge. We end up fighting, I have to stop him from controlling the world and make him see his evil ways. There's a lot of dialogue but I can't really remember what we said. Because of the dragon there is tainted blood spilling into the water now, and from the fight the tower has collapsed. I can't fly like Superman so I'm standing on the collapsed tower as it floats on the surface of the water. I pull out a document, this is my secret weapon. It's 3 pages, some sort of deed that owns property maybe? For some reason Superman stops. I've 'won' now I think, like he can't fight me because of what the deed infers - as if it helped awaken him to what he's done but doesn't fully change him. I recall that both of us fall into the water after I expose the documents, I sink really deep into the water. I tuck the documents behind my back under my shirt so he can't take them from me. He's about 1m under the water (probably 15m above me), his arms are crossed and legs tightly together and he's looking at me (it's like he's 'flying' underwater). Gotta say, he looked pretty badass. After successfully hiding the documents without him noticing I started doing breast strokes to get to the surface. I could seriously feel my lungs about to burst from holding my breath for so long. I broke through the surface and gasped for air *AH!*. I look to my left and see a large plastic circular water tank that had come from the tower. It got bumped off and started rolling sideways across the water towards me and Superman. Shit, gotta dodge it. I paddle my way out of the way and so does Superman. It then bounces against the other edge of the tower (the tower kind of collapsed around us and we're surrounded by the debris). The water tank starts rolling back the other way again, we dodge it again. It bounces again against the tower on the opposite side but comes off at a slight angle. It starts rolling back again and we dodge it one last time. I spot the dead head of the giant dragon we killed floating our way, I climb out of the water to avoid it. As I walk across the outposts surface I hear a loud 'BOOM!'. There's suddenly a downpour of dark liquid raining down in the vicinity. What. The. F*ck. Dude. Superman had laser-beamed the dragon head to move it out of his way and it promptly exploded raining blood down all around. We can't touch the water now because it's gone black and sludgy from the taint caused by the dragons blood. I climb onto a log of debris and Superman gets on behind, he propels the craft forward slowly and we float across the water out of the area towards the treeline. Dream experience: 7 (long, vivid, fantasy, emotion) Dream awareness: 3 (good recall, good detail, emotion) Dream 2 - Toys I remember being at my parents house but it didn't quite look like it. I was playing on the floor with a kid and we had these miniature toys out that had little pieces. At some point they disappear and we're like 'what happened?'. Later on I think my mum and someone else who seemed familiar at the time pointed out to me that I had some kind of thing forming on the right side of my head above my temple. 'Is that some kind of viral infection?', the thought of it grossed me out and I touched it. I pull something out... A toy? It was a little white transparent samurai sword 1cm long that we had lost before. How did it get inside my head? I pull out another thing, it was called a 'log' though it was more like a pipe (0.3cm long) and was part of another toy. Ew. This is gross and weird. I can't recall what happens next. Note: I actually felt at the time this occurred directly after the last dream but it feels entirely different so I'm listing it as a different dream. Dream experience: 3 (vivid, emotion) Dream awareness: 2 (average recall, good detail, emotion)
Intensive DEILD attempt 1: I set my alarm to go off at 2 for a WBTB and to empty my bladder so it wouldn't distract me when I woke up for DEILD later in the night. I then went back to bed quickly and tried doing some SSILD cycles, but I think I fell asleep on the first long cycle O_O. I seem to remember waking up too soon and tried getting back to sleep again (my alarm for DEILD was set to go at 3:30am and every 15 minutes after to a total of 8 times) so I turned off the first DEILD alarm to give myself more time to fall asleep. After that I managed to wake up several times to the sound of really loud rooster screeching 'COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!' next to my pillow. It think I'll change this tone because it became seriously annoying . I did manage to lie still atleast 3 times upon waking up I think, but I didn't stay still. I always ended up moving. Also I had poor recall because of this and ended up sleeping in. I can't recall the order of all these dreams (except the first and last one) Dream 1 - FA? I remember waking to the sound of my alarm at 2 and rolling around and getting up but it was crazy weird because I thought I was in a dream. The feeling I had as I woke up was like deja vu. I think I woke up as my body was about to enter REM which gave me this weird feeling (not really a dream but oh well). Dream 2 - Script I remember a vague dream about the dream occurring in a dream script. Imagine reading a book and then imagining what's happening as you read, that's pretty much what this dream was like. I had done a bunch of reading before going to bed, it was like a block of text was scrolling up and there were these supporting images forming in the background that played out the story. Dream experience: 4 (unique) Dream awareness: 0 (completely unaware) Dream 3 - Compare and contrast Me and another person are in a room, not very detailed and everything isn't that focused. We're talking about something and comparing them together, but none of it makes any sense really. Dream experience: 2 (pretty uneventful) Dream awareness: 1 (emotion) Dream 4 - Drawing book I seem to be at my parents house with my family somewhere around. There are 2 parts to this dream, 1 where I'm 'awake' and another where I'm doing the same thing but in a 'dream'. In the first part I think I'm in the lounge and I have a book out. It's pretty much related to schoolwork where I'm doodling out these boxes and filling them in with time lapses to illustrate a change over time in something. The first one was to do with whales. It was a box divided into 4 segments and each depicted a whale going from one stage to the next. I think there were 3 other boxes with diagrams depicting other concepts (I had a feeling they were geology related) though I only saw 2 others and without enough clarity to make out what they were. The next part of the dream I'm 'asleep' and I'm dreaming out the same scenario in the house, this time my daughter is there though and I'm showing her what I've done. I put the book down on the ground and open it up and I can show four pages at the same time (this should be impossible since a normal book can only show 2 pages (left and right leafs)). My parents come and tell me that it's time to go, we're going out somewhere tonight I think, probably dinner. Dream experience: 5 (longer with 2 'parts' - kind of unique transition) Dream awareness: 3 (I had some inkling of a feeling that I was present, as well as being able to focus on details)
Dream 1 - Empire war There's a war going on in the universe. The good guys (the side I'm on) which are the empire I think, and the bad guys (probably another empire). The place I'm at is the central supply station that has all the resources of our army. The head commander is Morpheus (from The Matrix, he has the coat, glasses, stoic look and everything) and he's guided me through my character creation (what?). It seems like I designed the skill set my character has, which was leadership and a few fighting skills (I think one was the warhammer, another could have been a 'kick' skill?). I seem to be quite low level though. The supply station is set in a desert area with sand for miles all around. It's a round sandstone building with an open round entrance. It's more like a place enclosed by walls that circle around it. There is a tower-like structure in the centre-back of the station too. Time skip. It's now sunset, with the sky doused in a mellow orange. We're still stationed at the supply station and disaster has struck. All the allies who work at the station have turned and stolen all the resources to give to the enemy empire. We've lost everything now, and our army is practically non-existent. There's 3 of us left, me, Morpheus, and another guy. "I can't even say that's a bad strategic output" I say lightheartedly (what's a strategic output?) "It's over, they've won." Morpheus looks lost as he says this, I can't believe he would give up despite knowing how hopeless the situation is. I walk towards him and place my hands on his shoulds, "let me say something to you" *SLAP*. "Don't you dare give up". He flinched a bit from the slap but turned his face to look at me, his cool glasses still in place as if they were glued.. "You'll make a fine commander with your capianry, warhammer and kick skills." he says. I start to tear up, my eyes are leaking. I feel like I'm an actor now, doing some dramatic movie moment. *swish* I turn my head to the side dramatically (in my head I think 'Wow, I'm a bad actor') and release his shoulder. I walk off to the right and sit down sadly, knowing that I would have to lead the future of our people or something. I think Morpheus said "I will guide you" which seemed to conflict with my idea that he was leaving. There's no time skip but we're outside the station now. It's crumbling away like loose sand in the wind, slowly dissolving and falling to the ground. Dream 2 - Diving mask I remember earlier seeing a person put on a diving mask in a room to show us all how it works. It seemed to be a breathing instructor teaching us how to control our breathing or something. Even though we're using diving gear I got the impression it wasn't to learn how to dive. Some time later in the night I think this dream came back, though now I was the person who was supposed to put the mask on. The room we were in was small and square with side benches for people to sit on. Around me were a bunch of other students, and in front of us was a woman who was our teacher. She asked me to come forward and test the mask out. I sit down on the floor in front of the class and she placed a diving mask on my head. It was a 'full' mask, that went over my entire head, supposedly used for deep sea diving. I hated it. I actually felt like I could have died O_O. It was so realistic. I felt the air flow into my mouth and then back out, though it didn't feel like 'normal' breathing. It was more like the air was coming from a tank and the air had a certain pressure to it. I also felt water enter the mask. What the heck? I panicked a little bit, there shouldn't be any water in here. I remember from the previous dream that the guy who wore the mask (whom I thought was me) had answered the questions of the teacher. I listened for her talking, I couldn't even see out of this thing properly. Her talking was so muffled I couldn't tell what she was saying so I gave a thumbs up in the direction of a blurry figure moving around. Most of my vision was taken up by the metal of mask, there were 2 glass eye windows to see through but they were dirtied and foggy, you couldn't functionally see with them. I panicked a little more, I couldn't talk so I couldn't ask for help. How the hell do I communicate?? I try some hand movements to infer that I wanted the damn thing taken off me, I couldn't do it myself because it's latched on or something. Aaaa just take it off! It really felt like I was about to have a panic attack and I decided I didn't like this feeling and that I wanted to wake up, so I did. This dream wasn't even that long (like less than a minute).
Dream 1 - seds exam Me and my friend John are in a car and driving around for part of a field trip related to the sedimentology paper we're studying. I remember being near the coastline and seeing some calm water while we're on a dirt road nearby under the canopy of some pine trees. I think we're pissy about something. We're back in the paleosed lab in our geology department studying for the exam now which is related to the field trip we've just been on. John tells me that the other people studying have placed the 'backshore' zone *here* (he shows me somehow, maybe with a picture). I get annoyed, "dude they're doing it wrong. Look at this" I start illustrating the beach and shoreface zones in their entirety and start teaching him about everything. "Well damn mister sedimontologist huhuhu" he says jokingly (kind of an inside joke where he's saying I'm a smartass ). Dream 2 - Goddess Nightmare This dream was a little weird. I remember being on a boat, surrounded by water. I know that in the direction behind me is land somewhere but I can't see it. There are other people on the boat but I don't recall seeing them. There's internal dialogue going on, I'm just.. Thinking? "The beginning of the world was due to the contact between the gods and goddesses" (this is similar to Greek mythos I think, Oranos the sky father and Gaia the earth mother). I'm in the water now, the boat is non existant and the dream is showing the distance between gods. I represent a god that is wading in the water, while in the distance I know there is another god but she's only just visible and is wading in the water. It's supposed to be impossible to contact one another, but the dream story says that we do and that is how everything begins. It is now a different time, the 'present'. Mankind has to be careful of the gods and goddesses because they walk among us in disguise. They require constant sacrifices every day. Some seduce their prey and kill them in their houses. I think a hot woman picks me up and we head to her house. She's actually a goddess (surprised?)... I think she goes into another room to get change and tells me to wait here (in the living room I guess). I think I somehow discover she's a goddess as I seem to see her on her bed in a red fishnet body dress thing. She was doing erotic stuff and I was like "oh shit she's going to kill me" so I ran and hid. Another person turns up and she kills him instead. I'm hiding in her closet but it's full of 'skins'. Like body suits she can wear to disguise herself. Behind them all is another door which takes me into another bedroom. She's still after me so I think I bolt out the window and onto the grass outside. I run downhill on the lawn towards the main road and manage to escape but the whole time I was terrified. Like she could get ahead of me somehow and come around some corner with an axe like they do in the horror movies O_O. I decided I wanted to wake up so I did.
Dream fragment - I remember there being something about a friend called Jamie, whom I was ignoring for reasons. I think we might have been outside near a car and I didn't really want to talk to him. Terrible recall, I went to bed at about and hour later than usual and none of my DEILD alarms woke me up. I think it's kind of related to the physical exertion from yesterday, which usually leads to me having deeper sleeps during the following night. I also felt like my awareness in ADA was lacking yesterday, like I was tuning out of everything more often and couldn't maintain focus on my surroundings without some internal dialogue distracting me.
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid Set up a DEILD alarm for 1:30, 3:20 and 5:10 last night, trying different alarm tones for each. I found that the 'rooster' sound woke me up but the others didn't. After kind of putting off dedicating effort into DEILD I decided last night that I'd give it a proper try, so when I woke up I actually managed to lie completely still with my eyes closed. I remember reading some advice somewhere that you should focus on a point, so I focused on the centre of my forehead. It kind of felt like meditating in a way. I decided that it was a good enough attempt for the night just knowing that I could do that if I wanted to, then I got up for a WBTB. Dream 1 - Poison caterpillars This dream was pretty interesting, I woke to the 3:20 DEILD alarm and tried cementing it to memory which I found a bit easier than I would if I had moved around. I was in a room at night time, my friend John was here too and we seemed to be in a survival kind of scenario. We had to go to sleep for the night so we each had our own floor mattress and bedding. I lay down to go to sleep but at some point in the night a friend from back home called Fraser showed up. He was the guy we were trying to survive against. He placed these caterpillar-worms on us that were tiny at first (~1cm long), but soon grew to be maybe 7cm long. They poison you just by touch and have these alternating purple to green bands along their body. I remember one crawling on me and thinking that the touch of it was stinging. Fraser came in and took the grown up caterpillars, like it was supposed to be every ones goal to get them (like a quest item?). I was pretending to be dead I think so he wouldn't notice I was still alive despite being poisoned. Dream fragment - anime artist? I remember a group of people on a sunny day walking down a pathway by the road and they were somehow related to anime/manga. Possibly the artists who make it Dream 2 - Family guy I remember having a dream where I think I might have been Bryan from Family Guy. The dream was telling the story of how Stewy and Bryan met and how they came to become a part of the Griffin family. Apparently Stewy was adopted alongside Bryan it seems. I think I (Bryan, who at the time I called Mike because I forgot his actual name) went to a one-off job. I met Stewy there who I seemed to hit it off really well with, we ended up become tight comrades and somehow headed off on a journey together in a car (feels like third person during this so I don't think I'm Bryan anymore). They end up getting adopted into the Griffin family which I find weird because I thought Stewy was born as a Griffin. FA - I seemed to remember writing 'Stewy and Mike' into my phone so I could recall the dream later, but when I woke up later on and I looked at my phone... there was nothing! Dun dun dun! Dream 3 - Trippiest Dream Ever I'm lying in bed in the middle of the night surfing the internet on my phone. It's the first time looking at a screen in a dream where it isn't actually in 'full screen'. I think I come across some music website. Basically it has an artistic anime-style kind of epic drawing. The whole background has this intense vividness to it, which was hued in a surreal purple colour. It has this anime girl that looks like she's jumped forward and reaching out for something with a smile. The art style really impressed me and caught my eye. The website plays music, but for some reason I was too quick to click on the next link and skipped to a new page. Damn. I backspace and head to the previous window. Huh? The background has changed?? It's now a new drawing in the same epic style, a different girl (different clothes, face, haircut, etc) with a different colour hue (possibly orange this time). I refresh the page -- it changes again. Now it's like a steel grey. I think the girl on this one might have had a short fringe with silvery hair. Wow this is all pretty cool, but I really wanted to see the one from the first page. I keep refreshing a couple more times cycling through the art, some of which comes up multiple times. I end up talking to the person who apparently makes it all, the artist herself. I'm not sure how we're communicating, it's like she's communicating through the screen. I'm also sitting at my desk with my laptop in front of me instead of being on my iPhone. I can't remember what we were talking about, possibly about who she is and how she may or may not be the artist? Shit gets crazy as we talk though. Like... absolutely chaotic. She shows me the art on her website and it's no longer static. Some of which is video clips but they flash past my eyes so fast. One clip is from Bakemonogatari (an anime) as a hint, suggesting that she is the artist who draws it (which in my head explains why her art is so amazing). But it just gets so crazy because it's all so vivid and fast, the next part there's an image of an anime girl who mimics the artists words. Her movements come in a strobe-like fashion, the screen flickers rapidly, her face appearing to tilt right while her smile broadens into this insane toothy grin with wide eyes. What the f*ck is going on? Everything is so colourful and vivid with so much change in the lighting. Orange, green, blue, purple, black, white. It's quite beautiful. Next scene she sends me porn which I try to ignore, then realize that it's still open on my browser. I have to close it down manually. I open up a screen which shows all my active apps and try delete it, only to find that there's an endless stream of porn videos open on my phone/laptop. How the hell did this happen?? If someone saw this they'd think I was a pervert. There's just too much and I don't even know what happens but I wake up, realizing that I'm now in my room for real. It was just so realistic though. On my 20th day of no PMO using the Brainbuddy app. Safe to say that it definitely affected my last dream O_O. My dream recall improved last night too (the 2 nights before my exam yesterday were below my average by quite a bit). From today onwards I have a lot of spare time until I head back to the North Island. I'll be dedicating a lot more time to my dream practices I think from now on (i.e. ADA, DEILD, meditation, + other related stuff like reading ETWOLD)
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid Had to write this in the afternoon after my exam so my brain is fried and I can't recall it too clearly anymore. On the upside: no more uni! Dream - Museum expedition This was quite a vivid dream, I was wandering around a museum with my friend John. He was off somewhere else while I was looking at some bronze weapons and jewellery. It transitions to a different museum now and I walk off to an area I was interested in looking at: more bronze jewellery and weapons. There were also plates and other bronze-age ancient look equipment. I saw everything in hyper detail, everything was displayed on a wall (all the walls were modern and white looking). A pretty blonde girl walks past which I notice, the dream world has been very realistic and mundane at this point but starts to take a more abnormal turn. John comes over and we turn to our right and go further into the museum. A huge mining equipment that looks more like ancient siege equipment is in front of us. It's in front of an old mine shaft that's absolutely huge (like 15m high?) so that the miner thing can get inside and, well, mine... The rock it was used to mine is malachite, a type of copper mineral that's distinctly blue-green. The outcrop is rough looking and I spot some pyrite ores in it too when I look at it close up (once again in intense detail). A professor at the museum shows up by chance and invites me and John to come check out the interior a bit and we end up on a mini expedition. I remember thinking how there could be treasure buried around here like rare items or something (is this an RPG?). The professor has 2 assistants, one is a guy and one is a girl. I get the impression that the guy has a crush on the girl. The girl is apparently somewhere getting us tools I think, so me, John, the professor and the guy assistant head off. In terms of the dreamscape we literally just walked next to the mine-siege-thing and turned left onto some stairs that seemed to circle around it. Then we climbed off the stairs next to the mine-siege-thing on to a dark mound that had a black-sludge pool in the centre. This is where the treasure is supposed to be it seems. We set to work trying to dig it up, I remember there being some kind of dish-shaped thing we used to scoop the sludge away. At one point the guy assistant got too close to the edge with his back turned while he was squatting and talking to the professor, I tried helped him but he fell in and seemed a little annoyed. The girl assistant comes back around and the guy assistant is a little flustered. There were quite a few moments where there was a lot of detail, I think this relates to ADA making me pay more attention.
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid Dream - Violent Iguanas I'm by a farm fence that runs next to the road. It's me, Sam, and a couple others who have come here to steal something from a building that's just beyond the fence down a small slope. Me and Sam hop the fence onto the grass field on the other side. The other 2 guys with us hand us some equipment. Hmm, this won't do... There's too much stuff and the bags are already filled with the stuff we're trying to steal? (we were trying to steal ice, and possibly biscuits). Sam goes ahead with his share of the gear while I contemplate how to lighten the load. I unpack the plastic bags and decide to leave a couple boxes, there's way more than we need. Suddenly I look up and see my friend Sam running back up the hill. Uh oh, he's been discovered and is making a break for it. I turn and bolt alongside him, the other 2 guys don't need to run apparently because they haven't done anything. Me and Sam head onto the main road and keep running, there's an old lady sprinting after us (I saw her at the gym yesterday, I was amazed at how such an old person could work out like that O_O). I'm much faster than my friend and he's already running out of stamina... The old lady is really fit and is slowly catching up with single-minded intensity. How the hell? She's going to catch my friend, I could leave him with my speed but I don't want to, if he goes down then I won't let him go through it alone. I stop running and the lady catches up, there's no point wasting more energy. She talks to us and tells us to follow, leading us back to the building we had been about to rob. We're at the top of a stone staircase by the grass field that leads into an animal sanctuary (which is apparently what the building is for). "Do you like iguana?" she asks. "Uhh yeah I guess so?" I respond, not really sure what she wants. We're walking down the steps now, "We have a new male iguana arriving today" she says. I think to myself that it doesn't feel like she wants to punish us, hasn't she called the police? I get the feeling she's offering us a chance to do something with our lives maybe. We turn left at the bottom of the steps, it's almost like the area has become enclosed like we're in a building but there's these dense trees and shrubs as the walls? On the left is an exhibit for iguanas. Wow, they're huge! Maybe 1-2m long? I focus on two that are walking along the same branch, I get the feeling there is about 2 more somewhere in the background. It's almost like these iguana aren't even iguana, they have a kind of monkey-like head with a bony looking cranium with ridges. One of the iguana shoots its tongue at the behind of the other iguana, latching onto it. Is this some kind of mating ritual? I'm watching what's going on intently now. The iguana that has been latched onto seems to want to get away? It turns around and is face to face with the other iguana that has caught up... SMASH! What in the hell?!?! The iguana that shot its tongue out just head butt the other iguana. SMASH! SMASH! SMASH! Over and over it repeatedly rams its head into the skull of the other iguana, of which collapses and caves in on the last hit. It goes limp and falls off the branch. Whoa. I'm in a bit of shock after watching that. Its head is lying against the glass of the enclosure we were watching through. The old lady walks up and calmly inspects its head. She starts playing around with it, tinkering almost. Is she going to save it? But it's already dead? She opens up its skull and there's blood and brain, so gross. I think I ask her if she can fix it, and she responds saying that she might be able to. 1 more night and then I'll have my exam, just focusing mostly on getting a good sleep atm so my recall isn't that great.
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid So close to achieving a WILD lucid last night, SO CLOSE. I did a WBTB around 2:15 for ~5 minutes, then went back to bed and did some SSILD cycles. After getting through the cycles perfectly I decided to move into a more comfortable position and head to sleep. I had actually wanted to WILD during the process but it didn't happen so I was hopeful that I would get a DILD later on. It took me ages to fall asleep again though, the increase in awareness from SSILD kept me awake for ages... Finally though, I started to feel a dream forming... The images I was experiencing, the movement of my body in the dream world. I could feel myself transitioning into the dream state. I was walking and I looked at the ground, it was concrete. There was a large industrial building to me left, a car park to my right and a main road ahead of me. The first thing to enter my head was to shout 'stabilize' and get some foothold in the dreamscape. Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding! Just as I had felt myself enter this dream, just as I was sure that this time I would succeed at a WILD, just as I was about to break my dry spell... I wake up suddenly to the sound of my alarm. Oh my f*cking god O_O. I had set another alarm for 4:30am to wake me up for a DEILD. *calms self*. I turned it off with minimal movement and tried for the next 10 minutes to get back that WILD with no luck. Couldn't be more pissed . All that time spent to get a failed WILD and then I barely had any dreams because my sleep was short Dream 1 - Asian wife in the future It's like 20 years in the future, I had been married to a beautiful asian woman and we had a half-cast daughter together. I remember being ambitious and wanting to travel around the world for work. But my wife was 'terrestrially anxious' which apparently meant she didn't like being off land (i.e. in a plane or boat). So she remained in the country while I went overseas, we split up because of it. My daughter was half-cast asian in this dream and was overseas with me in my fancy house or something. I was happy, but I missed my wife. My daughter wondered why we had even split up but she wouldn't understand. I think I decide to head back overseas to my wife on a plane and try and get back together with her.
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid I really couldn't be bothered doing anything last night. I didn't want to get up for a WBTB or SSILD, couldn't be bothered writing any notes about my dreams either. The only one I recall is the last one because it legitimately tricked me. Dream 1 - Grade I remember being in the paleosedimentology lab room at the geology department in my uni. I was sitting down when my old english teacher (and home room teacher) Mr. Rogers from high school showed up and gave me the results for my first exam, Marine Science. I seem to see him as a geology professor for some reason... "Whoa. 91.5%?".. The grade on my exam is awesome, I'm completely stoked. I knew I had been trying harder this semester because it was my last year and I also wanted to prove that I wasn't lazy (usually I just wing a B+ without much effort). I think Mr. Rogers asks if I had just been studying really hard, insinuating that maybe I had cheated or something. To be honest I didn't study that hard ^_^ but I was still really happy. I think I start rolling around in my bed at this point in a semi-wakeful state, thinking about texting my girlfriend the good news. Suddenly I realize I'm in my bed... What? Oh, son of a b*tch!! It was a dream!...
Non-dream Non-lucid Lucid Dream fragment - Walking around town I just remember waking up from my first dream cycle and thinking that I had 2 separate dreams. I was walking around my home town, near the roundabout but not really sure what happened. There seemed to be a large gap and then I was in a new dream. Dream 1 - Survival Imagine those crypts in Skyrim that are dome-like with the opening in the top, I jumped into one of those and the interior was really dark. It had a similar atmosphere to something like 'Doom' or 'Quake', and there were there rectangle flesh aliens attached to the ground. Roughly an arms length, maybe 20cm wide and 5cm high, they were everywhere kind of just radiating out from the centre. They attack you by lurching one side up and slamming onto you. Their 'flesh' is like a bundle of red sinew that when attacking, will become fibrous and latch around its victim. When I fell into the room there was so much of it and it was grabbing at me. I don't know how but I seemed to kill a whole bunch of them, the 'don't know how' part was interesting because I seemed to have no memory of how anything works. I watched a video on Youtube by Cracked called 'The Stumbling Dead' which is a joke about how the Walking Dead can all understand each other but they have no idea what the f*ck is going on . I seemed to be in that kind of mindset, my hair was ragged and really long, my skin was dirtied and the only clothing I had was a rag around my waist. I tried getting away from the alien things, there appeared to be a tunnel leading out of the dome room on one side which I felt like I had been down before. At this point it was almost like the dream had a game-like theme to it, where if you failed you could retry which was why I thought I had been down the tunnel... Dream 2 - Balloons I seemed to be dungeon crawling with a few friends, I had been through the dungeon before (was some kind of game world) and was advising them on certain things. It was pretty stereotypical for a dungeon, stone brick walls with high ceilings etc. We turned up in a room which apparently just has a tonne of enemies spawn and the easiest thing to do is just bypass everything by running to the exit. I tell my friends about this but the look in their eyes tells me that they want to grind some experience.. "*sigh*, okay then we'll do that" . We head down the stairs next to the entrance when suddenly I realize there's some stupid event going on. A plethora of freakin' balloons surges up in front of us. 'Ugh god damn it why now?', the aim is to pop as many balloons or a special balloon which gives you heaps of points. I spot the special balloon (which is blue and white) and take a whack at it with some kind of whip-like sword, it smashes against it but the balloon doesn't pop. It seems to be a lot harder to pop than other balloons :/. I chase after it and whack at it a few times but nothing happens. A guy called Chris from my geology class shows up, he's hitting other contenders to earn points. There seems to be a lot of people competing now, in the distance about 20m away I see the announcer of the game narrating the points people are earning. He's wearing a suit and holding a microphone. Chris pokes me in the stomach with a long stick. "1 point to Chris!" the narrator shouts. "God that's cheap" I say, he isn't even trying to get balloons -.-... Chris stabs at me again with his stick which is more like a really long staff. It's pissing me off now, stop it dude. I grab his stick and take it off him, then snap it in half. I know this is against the rules but damn he was annoying. I walk past him and leave, taking the broken stick with me. I notice that he now has a new stick "Ugh what a douche". I enter a passageway leading to another part of the large room the competition is being held in. The place is so colourful now, there's even a colourful playground nearby. I remember thinking about how the whole stick thing was typical behaviour for a friend of mine called Matt. When we'd play Jedi Academy on LAN he would pick the longest lightsabers and then just do flips all over the place that one-hit everyone. And because they were so long you couldn't do anything about it .
