      Why cannot I not fly?

      Everytime I try and fly, i either jump normally or i jump really high then fall back down and its scary because i think im gonna hurt myself xD

      how do I fly?

      Practice. It also helps to use an object to help you fly. For example, Jet Pack, Glider, Wings, anything. Just found out what works best. Good luck.

      When I have trouble getting airbourne, I usually try levitating first. Then once I'm in the air, actual flight becomes much easier.

      Try not to think about falling and/or getting hurt, because once you think about that, that is precisely what's gonna happen. Remember, your dream relies on your thoughts (conscious or subconscious), so always try to think that you are going to fly or expect that you are going to.

      I agree with DreamGuy as well, try to use objects to help you, because when you have them or wear them, you are in a better mindset wherein you will be expecting them to work, so they will indeed work!

      As for me, I usually run forward for a few seconds, then jump up into the air. I find that running helps "fuel" my flight and allows me to fly really high

      First, stop thinking that you're gonna hurt yourself. Get those worries behind you, and the flying part might just come.

      After that, I tend to levitate first, as the Cusp suggested, and then simply float away with as little thought as possible ... that I think is the key to flight (and dream control in general) don't think too much!

      You may want to try this. Kind of skip down the road or a hallway. With each stride feel as if you are very light weight and athletic, feel as if you can take 6 foot strides, then when you can travel taking short skipping like strides, make it 10 feet while clearling about 3 feet from the ground. Even that much may take a few dreams. Get to where you can travel by jumping into the next stride and not getting to high off the ground. Then add in skipping right over the top of cars with 20 foot strides clearing about 8 feet from the ground.
      This lets you practice dream control, you learn a magical dream power that is kind of like flying, but by increasing in steps you help your brain accept it. As soon as you can use one stride to jump onto a roof, then your brain should be ready to believe that you can do superhero like stuff.
      That is a small bit of work, but if no quick fixs work, give it a try.

      Another thing to be sure of is to never be afraid of falling. Sometimes I've tried and failed to fly, but even though I messed up the flight I still stopped falling just before hitting the ground. So long as you're confident in yourself and know that you won't be hurt unless you let it happen, falling isn't a concern. Also, the running start is great advice and has worked several times for me, and Vortaix's advice is your best bet for dream control in general.

      I just woke up from a dream where I did many attempt of flying. Although I never managed to do it fully. I find it harder to fly if the dream is vivid and I am more aware, because then I have to free my mind like Neo and you remember how that went. "Everyone falls on the first jump".       As you may already know.. when you are dreaming, all things happen just by you wanting it to happen.. I can't explain that "WANT" but i am sure you know what i mean by that..
      When you want to move some object just by looking at it, when you want to teleport somewhere, when you want to make someone appear behind you, etc etc..

      Same goes with flying.. But the problem is, you are afraid, and skeptic about it, because, hey, no one can fly in real life, right ? And that "WANT" is negated by "This isn't possible" .
      When i was learning to fly, i have had the same problem.. I would JUMP and fall a meter or two in front of me in the grass.. I would try it AGAIN and AGAIN, but i would keep falling, and when i finally FLEW up, i crashed down in the grass .. I couldn't fly properly..

      Until i found a solution to it..


      1- You have to stabilize a dream, and become so AWARE you are 100% SURE that you are dreaming..
      2- You have to clearly state that nothing can happen to you, and that you are in control of everything, and that EVERYTHING is possible, in YOUR dream.
      3- You have to truly believe.
      4- You have to see it happening in your mind already.. with ALL details.. (you cant just jump and expect to fly (well you can, but only when you mastered your way of flying), you have to plan the way you are going to fly before jumping, or taking a leap..) (wave with arms, fly like supperman, simply levitate, rocket boots, wings, w/e..)
      5- Do it without hesitation.

      This doesn't apply just to flying, it goes for ALL the actions, and happenings in your dream world.. Yes.. ALL !

      in a lucid dream, when i wanted to punch a hole through the wall, with my fists.. I punched the wall, and i heard the -thup- and i felt pain on my hand , NOTHING happened.. nothing at all.. But then when i confirmed its only a dream, when i imagined the shape of the hole that i'm going to make, whats going to be behind it, etc etc, i finally punched the wall and it broke, with exact same shape of the hole, and exact room i imagined could be saw through it..

      And don't forget to experiment with this, because if you can understand this once, you can do anything

      If you look at videos or drawings of early attempts that people made to fly, you'd probably think to yourself, "there's no way that machine would make it off the ground!" But the people tried it nevertheless. And eventually... something worked.

      The Hazards of Early Flight -- This could be you! Except in your dream, they'd actually work!

      if you start falling and get scared, imagine a huge trampoline where you fall, and when you fall on it, it launches you back into the air so you can fly again.
