First, stop thinking that you're gonna hurt yourself. Get those worries behind you, and the flying part might just come.
After that, I tend to levitate first, as the Cusp suggested, and then simply float away with as little thought as possible ... that I think is the key to flight (and dream control in general) don't think too much!
