I'm sick to death of explaining it.

Learn some Tai Chi moves and use those to stabilize the dream. Should work every time.

Stand up straight, stretch yours arms out slightly away from your body, then start tapping your Index Finger and Thumb together. Do it in some type of beat, and imagine a clicking noise every time your digits meet. Do this until you've calmed down, then try to imagine the sound echoing. Do this for a short while, and the dream should be stable as can be.

      Here's a thought:

You could always just have LD's with dulled senses and blurry vision for a while. Lucidity isn't about vividness, it's about awareness, so there can still be much to do and explore even without clarity. Also, If you take stabilization a little less seriously and just enjoy where you are rather than fret about it, you might find things starting to clear up on their own.

This brings me back to when I had lucid dreams before I knew what they were. They seemed to become stable on their own back then, because I didn't know about stabilization, etc. So it's like my mind didn't see the need for it. I've been trying to not think about stabilization in my latest lucids, and they seem to work just fine, as long as I don't focus on it.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The main goal in stabilizing should be to stay lucid, not to enhance vividness. It sounds like you stay stable, so things are working. Some times you are lucid in nREM and nothing you do will make the LD vivid. In that case listen to Sageous, you can still have a wonderful experience in a hazy dream. If you are in nREM the visuals will suck, but your sense of touch may be greater. So, stabilize to stay lucid. In general improve your awareness and visualization skills while awake, in order to increase vividness. I am saying, the work needed to generally increase vividness, is done while awake. Work on awareness and many aspects of your LDs will be enhanced.

My basic advice on stabilizing is to look at a near by object and focus on it, then look at a far off object, like the horizon, and focus on it, then touch your dream body with your dream hands. I often just kind of pat myself down a little.
