Heh, I so KNOW what you talking about. This has been plaguing me for so long. |

Hey there. I have been lucid dreaming for a while now and though I've enjoyed my LD's, I've always had a problem with them. I go to bed with every intention of doing tons of amazing things, get lucid, and manage to hold on to the dream. Then disaster strikes. Every LD I have consists of two things; flying or sex. It's like as soon as I become lucid my brain just says "Hey, lets forget meeting historical figures or talking to our subconscious or fighting ninjas. Lets go flying and then get it on." I've done both at the same time before... -_- I figure this has to be either something going on with me subconsciously or a lack of dream control. Either way it is frustrating. I have literally unlimited possibilities and I only ever get to experience two. I'm pretty certain I could fly circles around anyone on DV at this point. |

lol, I can't ever remember what I want to do in my lucids when I have them. So I know that feel bro. |

This could be more a memory problem than dream control problem, Lucid_boy. |

Thank you guys for your responses. Especially the link you posted, Gab. One of the comments it contained made a lot of sense to me. Usually I use DILD or MILD. I can't ever fall asleep when WILD-ing. The closest I've gotten with that is SP. I think that I'm simply going to try a mantra or, when I do my RCs throughout the day, add in a snippet about NOT flying. I RC about 15 or 20 times a day, so this might have some sort of impact. |

If I may suggest, don't think about not flying. Instead, think about walking. Because in 'not flying' the word and thought of flying is still there. You wanna erase that, and concentrate on walking. Maybe set a goal of experiencing a sensation of your feel hitting the ground. How it would feel with bere feet, or in socks, or shoes, or different surfaces. |

I have a similar problem with flying in my lucids, the issue stems from me using flying as a RC, well more of a conformation after doing the nose-pinch RC, my dreams have a habit of being extremely vivid, and even the clothes on the floor and general clutter of my house is represented in the dream, it's nearly indistinguishable from reality, so I use flying as a final conformation, as I know i can't do that while awake lol. After i start flying i tend to forget everything i wanted to do (unless i land immediately), this has tripped me up a few times, and is quite annoying, but im at the point now where im having 2-3 lucids a week without really trying, so it's not too much of a loss. |

I'm going to throw a different spin on Sageous' response and suggest that you simply need to become more lucid. every oneironaut gets to your situation, you're starting to get confident with induction, you're asserting control - flying and sex. But wait a sec, wasn't there something else, something more that got you interested in this whole ld shebang in the first place? |

I agree. I noticed it also. When I start flying or looking for sx, it's like an instinct, uncontrollable urge. I can't fight it at all. One reason could be because I get scared and feel I'll be more safe in the air. Maybe it's a memory from my "reptilian/bird brain"? |

I think simply walking in a lucid dream shows a great degree of lucidity, trying to just walk around at lower levels is difficult without being drawn into a new NLD plot so there is a point up to which you should get up and go. My first fully lucid dream was also one of my most reflective lucids and I was able to simply walk and observe the dream, and then struggled to reach that level of lucidity again for some time after. |

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way
I'd suggest to go flying, get ur fuck on. THEN explore the other possibilities |
