Hey guys, I was wondering if its possible to stabilize using a bottle of water. In my last lucid dream I stabilized by reaching to my right for a water bottle on the floor and took a few sips from it (it was surprisingly warm!), but I was thinking, maybe drinking the water and then pouring it over your head would help to stabilize the dream. |

here are some links about lucid dreaming everybody must check out:

Hmmm... water doesn't exist in a lucid dream. |

Very interesting sensei, well said. Stabilization to me has always seemed something of a grey area, the urgent "rush" to stabilize the dream often in a beginners case leads to dream to collapse. |

In my experience, it is best to do what makes sense by doing something until it becomes natural, and then do what makes sense by not doing anything. I personally just use whatever I have around me to stabilize if I forget something creativity is the best form of dream control, and stabilization is really just dream control. If my watch isn't there, drinks, food, air, sound, walls, humans, clothes, or whatever I feel. This is only if the dream seems unstable. If I try and stabilize an already stable dream, then I can destroy it. |

This has happened to me a bunch of times. I think this has to do with going against the dream narrative. It's important to use that creativity you mentioned to make your goals meld gently into the dream flow ("reframing the narrative."). Pretend memories are a great way to do this. |
