      Wow...Dream Journals really work!!!!

When I first joined here, one of the first steps that I heard all around to improve my "recall" and "awareness" is create a dream journal, or a log of the dreams I have had.

I thought of it as hokey and sort of stupid. I jumped to WILDs and other intriguing techniques (and failed horribly at all of them)

So, for the past 2 months or so Ive been writing down all my dreams on a notes tab on my iPod. at first, I would get about 2 dreams every 5 days...I dont even write down every dream, only the more vivid ones.

Now, I nearly get 2 dreams a night every frew nights, and 1 every other night. I didn't think that was possible, but I sort of remember two different sequences when I wake up. If I wake up in the middle of the night its even MORE vivid and separated. I did 3 one night one time, however short they were. I even had a lucid!!!!

It's like magic. And it just keeps getting better and better. Soon I'll have to actually work on the lucid part, but recalling your dreams, no matter how dumb they were, is pretty fun.

It works so well its ridiculous.

I was skeptical of it too, at first.

Anyways, I'm glad it's working for you! Make sure you save all your dreams so you can look over them in the future - often, one forgets all about the older dreams they had. I looked over my dreams from last year and wow, I forgot that I had half of them!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have read some of them...alot are really weird. It seems if I have multiple dreams per night two of them are really short and REALLY weird and the other is a long dream that makes sense to an extent.

Also, simply thinking about your dreams while you are awake automatically focuses your awareness on them. So every time you write down or talk about a dream you are working on the lucid part!

Yeah, I think most people tend to be skeptical, when we try to push journal writing on them. Heh. It's for good reason, though! It really does work!
Congratulations on the increased recall. Keep it up!

If certianly works! When I first started a dream journal quite a few months ago, it worked the first day, for me. I was amazed because in the past, if I remembered one dream I'd be surprised and I'd always like to know what I dream about. (Before I even cared about lucid dreaming.)
Not only does it work so well, I love looking back at my dreams and thinking "Where did my mind get THAT from?" For me, I can keep a dream journal and write in it every morning than keep a waking journal, which I always fail at. (The only thing is, sometimes it is hard to read, because I write it when I first get up in the morning, or half asleep.)

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
