By the way, O, I recently got a Conrad electric. It's stylized like a Les Paul, very much like what you're playing in that last video. Do you know if that particular knock-off brand is okay... or just a piece of junk?

I did some searching but haven't really been able to find too many helpful reviews. I've seen it noted that it isn't bad for a starter, but might take some upgrades to some of the components to really get some value out of it. Unfortunately, though, I'm not too familiar with it, myself.

Why thank you, kind sirs! Thoooough I will say, I've always been fascinated by people who play instruments. I tried to learn acoustic guitar and my brain just kind of refused to wrap around the lessons...my left hand being a moron didn't help either.

And to be truthful, sometimes it's not the task itself that's really so hard. It's the lesson. My left hand being a moron was (and sometimes 'is still') my biggest obstacle to overcome, when playing guitar. I started off on the piano as a kid, and getting into playing with both hands really made me realize how hard it was going to be. I took a break from it for a while, but when I picked up the guitar, I realized it was exactly the same thing, but worse, because your fretting hand tends to do much more than your strumming hand. It was really just a matter of telling myself "Ok, screw this. I'm going to learn how to do this right" for me to overcome that barrier of my left hand just being completely useless. Lol.

Right now, fretting with my left hand is still very hard, and sometimes frustratingly awkward, but just the fact that I know it can be done actually forces me to continue making it work. If you'd really like to play, I would say give it another shot. Buy a cheap guitar that you can just keep with you and play whenever the spirit moves you. If you find the right lessons and the right people to teach you with the right approach, you'll pick it up easily.

That being said, your singing voice is outstanding. I would love to hear more, if you have anything recorded.

You're right, it's the lesson. And my stupid hand. And my stupid ears. I've gone so long with my voice being my instrument and ONLY learning the vocal side of things that it's actually difficult for me to pull apart the other things that comprise a song. When I'm learning a chord or strumming anything at all I can't -hear- it. I can't imagine that note being a part of anything, and I've only learned some really basic chords, no songs. Maybe if I tried learning a song I like? I dunno.
I already have a guitar, my boyfriend bought me one for Christmas a couple of years ago. I feel pretty crappy about letting it gather dust because I don't have the drive to learn anything, and the guitar feels a little too big for me.
I don't have anything recorded, but it shouldn't take me long to make another one. Assuming I can finish a song <.<

Well, since you still have the guitar, I would say don't give up (but don't force yourself to play it, either). If nothing else, use it to compliment your singing. Learn a few chords that would serve as the rhythm for some of the songs you are singing. That way, you don't have to worry about doing anything too complicated, and you can still work on the singing as your main focus, while you build a bit of comfort with those cords. If hearing the chords on their own is a problem, then trying to play a song that you already know, like and are familiar with is definitely a good idea. But, of course, you'll have to stick with it...

And finish those songs, slacker!

(Who am I kidding? I rarely get around to finishing anything, either. Lol.)
