Another myth I have seen says you have to remain totally motionless, not twitch a muscle, not even swallow when you need to, which can lead to some rather uncomfortable situations.

Well, that's all I have for right now. If there's any questions you want to ask, go ahead and post a response here and I will do my best to answer it. Until next time, many lucid dreams to you!
I agree. If you are uncomfortable from not swallowing, that is going to wake you up! The most important thing is to be comfortable so you can fall asleep.

I want to add that the shavasana yoga position (or corpse position) which is lying flat on your back, arms at your sides about six inches from your body, and palms facing upward is a good position for inducing SP (from personal experience.) It is a position that is done at the end of yoga when your muscles are warm and stretched and you are in a relaxed state. If you never fall asleep on your back, this is probably not a good position to lie in for a WILD.

I do use this position to try to induce SP, and I get cool vibrations sometimes. Sometimes I can't fall asleep though in this position, so I end the SP, and turn on my side.

As far as WILD'ing, I have only done it a few times, but Raven has done it probably hundreds.... So you know who to ask. hehe. There are many other people on DV that are really good at it.
