Tell me about your dream control goals....

Hey everyone! I will be on and off the site throughout the entire day, so I figured we could get some interaction going on here.

Feel free to post some type of control you wish to learn. Whether you are first starting out and want to fly or are pretty experienced and are looking to create your own planet...let me know here. It may also help me set up some lessons in the future and give me an idea on what you guys are aiming for !

Phasing through objects... I can't phase to save my life!

I imagine whatever the object is as jello or water, but I still end up getting stuck with only my head and neck through. It's embarrassing because my head's halfway through a wall and the rest of my body is trying to pull it out. Shared dreamers would laugh at this.

So, that's my main dream control goal for this year... Got any tips?

I have told this story before, but here goes...

One day I was passing through a wall, very easily. As I was passing through, it suddenly occurred to me, "What if I got stuck?" and then I was stuck.
As hard as I tried I could not get through this wall.
I thought to myself, "I think I can get through this wall." and when I did, it became a little easier to move.
Finally I realized that it was my doubt itself that was preventing me from passing through the wall. I've never had any problem with phasing since.

Don't try to pass through the wall. Don't prepare yourself. Don't even consider the wall as an obstacle. Just pass through, as you would solid air, and expect that it will happen. Don't even think about it.
Have you ever given much thought to sitting in a chair? Have you ever said, "Okay, guys. I'm going to TRY to sit in this chair now." Have you ever prepared yourself to sit in a chair?
No. Chances are you don't even think about it, and that is exactly the approach you need to have when traveling through a wall.

...Was this thread open to this kind of advice? *looks awkward*
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. I just can't help but think of walls as obstacles, though! Maybe making a wall into transparent glass would help. But that would hurt like hell if I got stuck, I'm guessing. xD

Ah, some good 'ol phasing or what I like to call....melting (even though phasing makes more sense ). I will definitely go in depth with phasing in an upcoming lesson, but I can certainly provide you with some tips now. So, you seem to be able to get your upper body through and then you get stuck. I have also experienced this several times before. One solution, is to simply walk up to the object you wish to phase through. Go ahead and place your hands on the object and start your phase. Once you get your arms to sink through, you now have the idea of being able to phase through said object planted in your mind. Now pull out your arms, take a few steps back, run and dive right through the area where you arms phased through. You already know you can pass through this area and with a quick dive, you won't have time to think/worry about getting stuck.

If you want to learn to just pass through the wall without going through these steps, you can also try going one foot and one hand first. Place one foot on the wall/object and the same side hand on the wall/object. Try to phase both of these at the same time. This will keep you from feeling that top half or bottom half stuck feeling. If you manage to phase an area the length of your body, the rest should pass through just fine.

One other thing to try, would be standing straight with your back against the wall. Push back just a bit, until you feel yourself melt/phase into the wall slightly. Now just let yourself go and fall backward through the wall. It isn't the prettiest way to phase, but you likely won't get stuck this way.

There are several more ways and I will go into extreme detail when I start breaking down some more of the Dream Control goals in future lessons. Hope this helped give you an idea for now !

Diving right into the wall sounds like a good idea - as long as I've deemed some parts of myself able to pass through, that could actually work. I just don't want to go headfirst into it and fail to go through.

I'll also try the backwards motion.

      Thanks.

The only unnatural thing I've done in any LD by now is telekinesis and time freezing. Both in my third LD. I've had 7 now.

What I have an interest in:
      Transformation
      Scene construction
      Summoning DCs
      Dream stabilization.

What I do not have an interest in:
      Flight
      Blowing stuff up
      Having successfull LD sex

No problem at all. If you don't want to go head first, you can feel out a large area with hands. Get your hands to phase into a big enough area that your body could jump through normally, and you should be fine.

Very nice! I will definitely be covering those things in depth in the next few lessons. Everyone keep the requests coming. I will build up a nice lesson plan based on everyone's goals and desires.

One of my huge goals is to transform myself. Shapeshifting sounds like it would be a lot of fun. If I were to become a hawk, would I gain it's vision? If I were a tree, could feel every root as if they were my toes? How chill if a time is it to be a cloud floating in the sky? I could ask these questions all day.

      I'll come post more later.

Shape shifting seems to be a popular choice. It has been decided, I shall cover shape shifting in my very next lesson (along with several other things...of course). I have shape shifted quite a few times, so I hope I can pass on the art to other dreamers.

I would ultimatly like to re-create "The Nights Dawn Trilogy", and play out certain characters from the books, I would also be interested in re-creating other books and tv shows and playing them out how I believe they should have gone along. So Shapeshifting, summoning, shooting white fire balls from my hand, and creating entire planets and civilization and perhaps even a direct link with animals if possible as used in my book

Still got ways to go. Gotta get more LDs and a better recall and so.

Keeping a dream setting stable. For instance, I want to incubate a Harry Potter or Naruto dream or something and I want things to be realistic, like I don't want random shit happening to the walls or something. Is there a way to exercise control over one's general surroundings?

Biggest problem is not actual control for me, but more becomming lucid, and remember that I am lucid. Often my dreams are so interesting, that once I realize I'm lucid, I forget and start following the dream instead :S I gotta work on that.
      Slip inside my head
Watch how my dreams unfold, watch my fantasy in work
Watch the beauty, watch the details. Isn't it amazing?
I love you, and I welcome you into my world
If you are lucky, there will be music playing.

I want to make lucids last longer and not fade away. I also want to start having conversations with people.

Things I did pull off in my lucids so far:

      going through a wall
transform a play gun into a real weapon
      having sex and continue dreaming
      jumping over a far distance
      letting a DC disappear

However, I did not pull off so far:

flying (although I did make a few attempts)

well, flying is about it, I can't really seem to get the hang of that...I also wanna try out to open a portal or teleport.

Thanks for the techniques, I honestly never considered passive control so far...

Okay so, i've been having a lot of trouble recently with altering the surroundings / world. E.g. If im in my room in my dream and want to go straight to an open field or mountain range i just can't do it. I could before, but now it's like there is some sort of block :<

Is it soo hard to want to have a large scale battle in an open field?

Yeah, control over your surroundings is very possible. It has a lot to do with the stability of the dream and the particular scene.

@ everyone - Thanks for everyone's input. In the coming lessons, I will start breaking down the various activities a goals that everyone has. I will explain and give examples for passive and active control in all of the areas. Again, thanks for the input and everyone keep 'em coming !

I tend to have problems with...

shooting energy balls. Every once and awhile it sort of works but there is no force behind it. It is like a weak flaccid ball of light.

flying. Usually I can get started with good speed but I cannot maintain it if I go too high, try to fly really low to the ground, or turn sharply.

      freezing time

changing the environment. I usually either completely fail or have semi successes. Like if I can successfully go through a portal or doorway, the other side is either a random place or a mix of my desired destination and something else. For example, this week I tried to go from a building into a forest, so I made a portal. But the other side was a green room with branches and trees.

summoning of objects. I have tried to summon a gun multiple times and it ends up being a small toy gun. Also jet packs don't end up being right

so....pretty much everything. haha. But thanks for doing this Yoshi. I am looking forward to your advice

My main two dream control goals are flying and teleporting, so that in MILD's, I am not limited to the location where the dream started.

I don't want all my lucids to occur at school or in my street. I'd rather be on the moon or mars.

My goals are pretty similar to alot of these. My biggest one is flight but I would also like to be able to shapeshift, teleport, manifest objects... I really just want more dream control all around so any skill would be nice really. I think I bring too much of physical reality into my dreams so it has been difficult for me to do a lot of these things so far. Loooking forward to checking out some of these lessons

I would like to master earth, water, fire, air, telekenisis and so much more. I got a magic trident from a dragon in exchange for a key so it should be easyer now. It took me awhile to realize that it wasnt a pitchfork. I want the power to creat and destroy anything. I also want to master teleportation. I still risk waking up when I do so, but thats the risk of adventure.

I want to be able to fly with wings, not just float, I want to transform into something willingly, not just randomly like in my normal dreams. I want to split myself in two and se what it feels like. I wish to be able to hypnotize many DCs at a time, apparently one is pretty easy for me.
