Yakuza: Like a dragon. Seriously insane movie. Yet possibly the best video game to movie adaptation. Very loyal to the source material =P

Great documentary on the late great comedian. Really shown me a side of him I didn't know of. Great film.

      The Woman In Black

I can't stand scares so the moment I can start predicting when the ghost is appearing, I start closing my eyes, and closing them for really long. And then the ghost started screaming and I had to cover my ears too.

My best friend was just sitting there LIKE A BOSS.

Conclusion of the movie: The protagonist is always the one finding the ghost, not the other way round. But anyway, I like the way the protagonist dresses.

We Need To Talk About Kevin

Really great. Very few horror films scare me; this is not a horror film, but I found it very psychologically disturbing. Direction was great, acting was great, especially female lead. Definitely watch this.

      Contagion

Stellar cast but terrible film I thought. Extremely boring, and none of the characters fleshed out anywhere near enough for you to care. The plot is literally 'disease spreads, millions of people die, people find a cure, the end'. That's pretty much the entire content of the movie, it feels extremely pointless when it's over. Avoid like the plague.

Hunger Games. It was very good; the shaky cam in a couple parts almost killed me, though. It was mostly near the end, when I couldn't even tell who was who until the camera panned out. The lead's acting was awesome, as well as a good number of the supporting characters'.

      Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen
Visually amazing, but pretty much garbage in every other respect. I think this was maybe the 3rd time I've seen this movie since it's been out, and that says a lot. Later, after I'd gotten a buzz, I went back to watching it with the audio off and while playing some kick-ass music, and it was one of the most epic things ever.

      Jennifer's Body
Hadn't seen this one before, but wasn't really expecting much. It wasn't much, really, but it was slightly more interesting than I thought. It was pretty funny, genuinely creepy, at times (like when we first see her as the demon, when she walks into her friend's house), and just kinda fun to watch. I would relate it to The Craft. Megan Fox was actually pretty decent in the role, though the girl who played her BFF was excellent. I like that the film was unexpectedly brutal, sometimes, as far as who lived or died.

Complete coincidence, that two of the last few movies I saw starred Megan Fox, and people can say what they want about her, but she's damn fine. A bit annoying, sure, but fine.

      Funny Games U.S.

I love 'Hidden' by Michael Haneke, and a friend recommended his English language remake of his own film 'Funny Games'. It's meant to be a statement about violence in films, and how violence for entertainment is always accompanied by a storyline or some sort of resolution so we don't feel guilty about it. In this film, Haneke shows two youths mentally and physically torture an innocent family, with no storyline, resolution or meaning. The audience is directly targetted and drawn in to the proceedings at several points. The acting is brilliant, and the film really gets under your skin and makes you feel guilty and even personally responsible for the events on the screen, and the ending made me want to run away and never see the film or the actors ever again. So Haneke acheived his goal of showing violence in films for what it really is; disturbing and without meaning.

      Hunger Games

I read all the books(which were phenomenal by the way!) and I would have to say that they did a pretty good job making it into a movie. I am in love with the storyline of it because it is very original and hasn't been done before(to the best of my knowledge) and it's just.. exciting! But for people who have not read the books, I think they might be very confused just seeing the movie because there is so much in the book that they couldn't possibly fit in the movie so they had to condense it and take out a lot of details(some of which involve bloody battle scenes that they had to cut short in order to make sure it got a pg-13 rating) which made it a bit difficult to follow. I went to see it with a friend who didn't read the books and she said it was a good movie but she was very confused afterwards. But, it's a good story line, pretty good acting, and amazing special effects job. Overall, I give the movie a good rating ( 8.5/10 ) and think that it's definately worth seeing!
I dream a lot, need not be asleep.

Look up 'Battle Royale'. It's a novel which came out long before the Hunger Games, in which a corrupt Japanese totalitarian government forces classes of schoolchildren to fight eachother to the death on an island, allegedly for research. It is a mechanism to keep the population too terrified of the government to form insurgencies.

Apart from the premise being very similar to the Hunger Games, several details of the plot are also similar; for example the randomly allocated survival packs.

However the author claims she never heard of Battle Royale, and I guess it's likely she came up with it herself. And who cares if it's original anyway, really. As long as people like it.

Saw the Hunger Games last night, a little late.
I read all the books like a month ago or something, and they were very good.
The movie didn't really match up. (I'm obv gonna be picky on that) The places and people didn't look like I expected. The movie just felt premature. Even though it was 2 hours long it didn't feel like you knew the characters at all, they didn't have time to develop themselves, and their relationships didn't develop fully either. In the book you really got to "know" Katniss, and Peeta and their relationship, district 12, Katniss and Gale, Katniss and Rue, etc. But it just felt rushed in the movie. But what else could they do? It was already really long xD
But to someone who didn't read the books, I'm sure it was a fine movie.

      Hunger Games

I wrote like a 200 word paragraph on my opinions of the movie but the router connection broke and it didn't post, so I'll summarize the paragraph in 4 words.

      I fucking hated it.

The fact you wrote a 200 word paragraph opinion of it means that I'll genuinely trust your four word summary.

That means, I won't watch it.

Plus, I've read Battle Royale and watched both movies. Sounds like Gamer, Death Race and The Condemned too.

I was going to say the same thing. I saw it with my brother this weekend, and we couldn't believe how different we imagined it to be.

I saw the Vow, and even though I was a little disappointed in it, I still loved it. I thought there was going to be more tear-jerker moments in the movie. But the fact that it was based off a true story, made me jerk half a tear and that was all I needed :} sucker for those. Worth the watch!
