Thread: Will Twilight Eclipse knock Toy Story 3 out of the number one spot?

Twilight eclipse opens next week on the 30th. Do you think it's going to knock TS3 off the top spot?

I hope the amount of hormonal teenage girls has gone down by then...

Yeah, a army full of sparkling boys won't do anything except call Pedobear.

But CB is in "Twilight!"

Yeah I probably won't watch the movie but I do want to see some screens with CB in it.

Also, I don't think Twilight anything will ever knock Toy Story out of any spots.

I can't fault her financial wisdom, though.

They open up on a Wednesday, so I bet they're going to add the weekend to the along with those other days to it in order to inflate the numbers.

I'm pretty positive that Eclipse will beat out Toy Story 3. The only reason I speculate this is is because there is a much broader audience that would view a movie like Eclipse (well, just a thought).

How could Eclipse conceivably garner a broader audience? Eclipse has (I believe) a PG-13 rating, vs. a G rating from Toy Story. PG-13 tends to cater to young teens - especially the hormonally challenged ones that have already been mentioned - whereas G is good for viewers of any age. That doesn't mean that younger children and adults won't see Eclipse, but it does mean that Toy Story has a much greater chance of being seen.

For another thing, the third Toy Story movie has been long-awaited. For over a decade, at that. The coming of Eclipse is really only something that giddy fangirls of the franchise have been waiting for. Toy Story 3, I can safely say, is something most everyone has been anticipating.

...And I suppose it doesn't hurt that Rotten Tomatoes, of all places, has given Toy Story 3 a 98% fresh rating, as opposed to the dismal 27% that New Moon received.

Yeah, I actually predict TS3 will win. But on the same note, I doubt TS3 will have as many people see it five times in three days. Twilight fans are known to do that...

Again, I say "sadly"...
