I like how nobody here seems to realize that you CAN test-drive the opposite gender.

Except in a lucid dream you are just role playing your expectations of the other gender not actually experiencing it for what it truly is.

That's true for the most part, but gender is mostly a social convention, it's mostly expectations. But true that you can't really try it out or ever really be a girl even if you had surgery.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I fail to see how your mind making a best-guess attempt about what it would be like equates to a 'test-drive'. You've no idea of how thought processes and experiences might differ, or the many social and physical differences that you likely have an incomplete knowledge of. It's like saying if you turn into another animal that gives you actual experience of being a different animal. It doesn't.

We're not talking about something like flying here where your mind borrows your existing knowledge and experience of sensations like gravity, acceleration, and wind resistance and applies it to a different situation.

That might be why he said "test drive".
Okay, you can't know fully what it would be like living as the opposite sex or a different animal, but neither can you know what it would be like to own a car by taking it for a test drive, or be the oppisite sex by taking it for a test drive too.
A test drive isn't supposed to give you every detail of the car, every possible future problems you may encounter, every emotion you may experience along side it.

If it weren't for my religion, I would have a sex change and become 'lesbian'. So yeah. I hate being a guy most of the time. Just wish I was born female.. ._.

      Way to miss the point.

If I test drive a car, I get to experience how the car actually drives, and get a feel of how it performs. You know, that's kind of the entire point of taking it for a test drive. It's not designed to be the be-all and end-all guide to owning that car.

Changing your gender isn't like taking a test drive. It's the equivalent of a very vivid daydream where you imagine yourself driving a sports car. Obviously a daydream (or a dream) is useless for determining how a car performs because your brain makes it up.

It makes it up with what it already knows though? So, surely, if somebody already had a fairly good knowledge of something (a certain car in this instance) the brain would make up something according to that knowledge? Therefore not making it entirely useless?

I wouldn't mind experiencing a female orgasm, but I would want to switch back quickly before having a period.

I understand where the rest of you are coming from. I'm sure your brain isn't going to do an absolutely perfect job of replicating the life of the opposite gender, but lucid dreaming is the closest one is ever going to get to experiencing the actual thing, and I'm sure that it would be realistic to such an extent that it might as well be the real thing. If you're skeptical, then try it and see for yourself. If your mind doesn't create an accurate enough representation of what being the opposite gender is like, it doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work for somebody else.

I would expect that the subconscious would do a pretty good job of replicating the social factors in being the opposite gender, in addition to the personality and emotions that the opposite gender would generally have and experience. It would simply require your subconscious to place yourself in the position of the other gender. The social interactions that you encounter in the dream are already handled by those that your subconscious sees and picks up on in real life. And we already know that emotions are very strong in lucid dreams, so the mind most likely wouldn't have too much trouble recreating the suspected and probably correct emotions/personality of the opposite gender.

The subconscious is very skilled at creating new realities even if that reality has never been personally experienced. And for the example of test-driving a car, really, who cares if it's not exactly the same as the real experience? It certainly feels as real as if you were to have actually done it. If you were hoping to experience the real thing, then you would obviously have to experience the real thing. No amount of subconscious accuracy is going to create the real thing, but it can come pretty close to it.

The only thing that would give you the actual experience would be to die and be reborn as that animal. That's not my concern when it comes to gender. My point is that lucid dreaming can provide a pretty good guess at what being the opposite gender is actually like. And it's certainly more accurate than daydreaming, since you are consciously creating those scenarios as opposed to working from what your subconscious creates. Imagining that you are flying feels nowhere near as real as lucid dreaming that you are flying, and the experience itself differs in that your subconscious creates the scenario, thereby incorporating the aspects of that reality which you haven't consciously thought of.

Explain how I amused you? And I'd be able to be myself more freely. I find it hard to express that with a male body.

Oh, but I don't desire that. Sacrificing the truth is sacrificing my place in heaven. I will not do that. No amount of yearning for a different body will change that. It will have to remain something unobtainable in the real world, and something which stays with my lucid dreams.

I wouldn't say improve his life, though he would be happier because it's easier for women to express their feelings than it is for men, specially if you're sorta feminine. But he could still be feminine, he could give a shit about what other people think but that's hard, specially at work.

      Annnnnd I wish I was a boy.

I've considered that if I moved to America that I could beforehand go to the gym for a few months and concentrate on exercises that develop musculature similar to the other gender; then go over, and crossdress, and for strangers on the street either I would be seen as the opposite gender or transgender and thusly experience different societal reactions which would be quite informative, even if it wouldn't be so sustainable in proper conversation. Then again with the right hair and chest clothing it might be somewhat viable even at closer inspection.
