I think I get what he is trying to say with no drugs attached. In fact I have entertained this idea before, but then decided it wasnt worth worrying about.

In layman's terms, he is simply saying if there is an infinite universe and infinite possibilities then every time a thought process between two beings happens, then every possible outcome happens in some universe. Like with the creating a child, a lot of times people decide right in the first meeting if they would sleep with the person...so if they dont, but still thought about it, in a different universe they do make the child. However, this causes a problem because then that means the universes contain different people who are not in every universe, I believe this would cause an imbalance, no?

I'm not sure, if I understood the first post, either. You need a different way to translate your thoughts into a more convenient language. Use metaphors or imagery for example.

I didn't say looking for answers is stupid or pointless. But it isn't the way to enlightenment.

Of course you can ask questions about why is the sky blue. For example. Curiosity is part of any living thing. But there is no point (going back to the question we were talking about) in trying to figure out the answer to the question 'if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound'.
Another example, Zen Buddhism rejected that one now, is say, 'How could you flip the rotation of the Earth using only your finger and a 1 inch piece of string'.

The average person will struggle and strain and come up with all these illogical scenarios, 'oh well, maybe I think they have found a way to .... bla bla'. They must find an answer.
When there isn't any.

No. Right now systems combine to form more complex systems which can be broken up into simpler systems or contine on, etc.

I meant that the universe isn't just a blob of energy that does nothing but contort. Systems react with each other and combine. They also break each other up, or do so spontaneously.

Yeh but if you look at it, everything is pretty simple. I spose it depends what level you're looking at. The way I see it everything is just atoms or whatever the smallest particle they have found is. But if you go up a level higher those particles interact in a complex way. A bit more simple again. etc.
