Anyone notice stuff from previous dreams in their regular dreams.

Is anyone else having dreams where a random room, character, element, or entire scene from a previous dream appears out of nowhere? I normally don't remember until I wake up and am writing it down.

My dreams will merge for months at a time .So yes I also have dreams where I havent dreamed about a place or person for years and they will pop into the dream taking over the dream before it and continuing where it had left off .Is this normal not sure if anything in the world is normal but it happens to me all the time.I have sectioned my dream journal(the paper one) to section these dreams . characters and places and clothes and scenarios all circle around for me

Yeah, I know what you mean. The other day I was having a dream and as I woke up to write it down I realize a particular scenario/environment/feeling from a dream I had like 4 years ago.

Probably has to do with state dependent memory.

I often find that logic someone or myself had created in the dream passes on to other dreams. One example is that I often get into fights in my dreams and i'm ALWAYS wearing my glasses when i get into it and have to take them off (or kindly ask the other person :p) The weird thing is I don't even wear glasses in real life!

That's an interesting read. @Circa, I know what you mean also. My dreams almost always include some movie elements in them, I don't even watch movies that often. It's always as if I'm watching the movie while I'm in it. When I wake up is when I realize it, never in the dream though to do a Reality Check lol.

Just recently, I dreamt of being in a store similar to one in a previous dream, but I've never visited it in waking life. It was a metaphysical bookstore, with shelves of semiprecious stones and charmed jewelry. The first time, I was looking around and simply woke up, but the second dream (more than a few weeks later) involved meeting someone in the store and going on an adventure with him. We found a city buried in massive snowdrifts, and he enchanted our shoes so we could walk atop the crests.

...I digress, though. I thought it was interesting to revisit somewhere from my previous dreams without meaning to. I've had many dreams in the past of my old workplace while working there, but that was likely residue and stress-induced.

It sounds like a common element of dreams. I, too, have experienced this.

I only mind when it happens four days in a row or more.

I frequently find myself in dreams that connect back to other dreams. Probably at least a couple of times a week. Go back to the exact same cave, or activities that I have never done in real life, but dream about regularly ... all kinds of ways that my dreams repeat and connect.

Sometime I know of the connections, but don't know I'm dreaming. Once in a while I know of the connections, and am lucid. And sometimes I don't know that it is familiar until I wake up.

All the variations are fun, though if they repeated too often, things would start to get boring.

WHat bothers me is when I have dreams in which I recall other dreams where the activities are part of my normal routine. The dreams may suddenly be remembered when I go through my normal routine causing me to wonder if the memory is of a dream or an actual real-life experience.

      It can get confusing.

You know, that happens to me alot but with my daydreams. I'll remember something and won't be able to figure out if I was daydreaming it or if it really happened.
