Question Need Some Help... With Dreaming

So I do reality checks every single day... BUT I never become lucid in dreams cause I don't do RC's in dreams..... ??! What should I do?

And another question.. What is the most successful/useful RC? Excluding the finger through palm.

The key is in your head. The RC that works the best for you will be the one you let work best for you. Remember that everything in the Dream is controlled by you. It's not just everyday you need to RC, but frequently throughout every day. Take notice of your surroundings more, don't just be focused on yourself.

      I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
      Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

Most often you don't just RC in a regular dream. For that to happen, you have to have a hint of awareness. Something, that will make you ask "is this a dream?".

That's why RCs by themselves are not enough.

Here is awareness question + RC and following mantra for inducing DILDs. Collection... DILD.

      Self awareness (sageous)
      All day awareness

The trick is in truely understanding RCs. It is not enough to just test if you can breath with a plugged nose and so on. RCs should be a moment when you truely examine and consider if you are dreaming or not. If you only preform the action, without honestly questioning if you are dreaming, then RCs are not very useful.

Stop thinking about RCs as a physical test, Instead take that time to truely understand what around you makes you believe you are or are not in a dream. It involves considering everything, such as the lighting, the presence of shadows, being able to remember how you got there and where you are. It involves noticing if you do have a body, and if the body is normal. Expand your RCs to include this type of questioning and they work equally well in 3rd person.

I would say my best RC is simply when I stop and ask myself the following questions, "Do I remember how I got here" "Can I remember what day and time it is" "Does any of this make sense"

Gab is correct however, RCs only work if you have developed increased awareness. The act of doing RCs like I am talking about are a small tool for increasing your awareness, but simply doing a physical RC with out really being aware is of little use.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

I've never used RC's in life. I've just learned to feel when I'm in a dream or not. It doesn't always work but the majority of feed back I see for people trying to use RC methods is that they don't work at all but it's a nice thought. The real trick is not trying to side step the process with gimmicky tricks. Just as an example, a lot of people who get lucid dreams then go on to disliking how they never last long. Rather than actually working out why they happily take advice from someone who tells them to spin around in a circle or rub their hands to get more lucid. These quick fixes are praying on people's laziness.

If you want to get lucid, pay attention to the world around. When you're sitting at a bus stop, have a look around. Not just a quick look, but read what the signs say, what's written on buildings. If you can look through the windows, have a guess at what the room must be like and how they connect. Listen to the traffic, not the overall hum but isolate the different vehicles, look at their drivers, their passengers. How might those people know each other, what are they doing.

Really open your mind to the complexities of your world and understand it. Then do the same with your dreams. When you wake up after one, don't just go back to sleep. Write down your dreams or at least spend a long time thinking about it and remembering it. Think about all those fine details.

You'll notice that your awareness increases 10 fold and you'll start becoming aware that you're in a dream because you'll be aware of all the details, a lot of which will give away that you're dreaming.

There are many ways to go about trying to induce DILDs. Try tweaking your approach.

Try other induction techniques. Maybe RC is not for you ?

A RC that i do is look at something , turn away from it then look back at it.
