Thread: game dreams

Whenever I play video games for too long I usually dream about them too. When my roommate first got GTA4, we played it for like 5 hours, and that night I had a dream where I was trying to get out of the cop's wanted circle area, and everything I did was like the game. Sometimes I get video game dreams that are a combination of a bunch of different games, those are actually pretty fun. In all my first person shooter dreams, I'm horribly inaccurate and the bad guys can take 30 shots without dieing. Those can be frusterating. Now that I don't really play video games, I have stopped having video game dreams.

Did I hear someone say "videogames?" I dream about those quite often. My current obsession is Portal, though, like other realistic games, I don't find myself playing it so much as acting it, or finding elements of it. I also am a Zelda fan...

Prerelease dreams are either sweet wishes cruelly snatched, or sinister nightmares ("METAKNIGHT NO LONGER IN BRAWL WAT?!").

As for fighting games, and pixel games (handhelds), those dreams are much less involved, and usually contain glitches or missed rare events.

also, in my videogame dreams i tend to find a lot of cheats or codes that allow the character to do stuff they couldnt do or go to places not in the actual game... hey, that gives me an idea...

I tend to dream of anything I've been doing a lot. But a dream about a videogame is almost always just a dream about playing the game, not anything cool like actually being in it or anything.

yeah i use to play Zelda a lot, but i don't recall ever dreaming about it. i did dream about a book i was reading though. i was Roland the gunslinger from Stephen King's Dark Tower series lol. i was in a bus and terrorists hijacked it, and i kept shooting at them, it was pretty cool

i did one time dream about this game "urban reign" (fighting game) and Mike Tyson was in it lol, and he beat the hell out of a bunch of cops and random people in general

I've had a few COD4 dreams, that's about it.

There have been video game elements in most of my dreams for as long as I can remember.

Ive had a few World of Warcraft dreams such as ones that include me doing new dungeons and new monsters but i still have the User Interface in my vision xD

Usually, I dream about the video games that are amazing, but don't last long.

I dreamt of Assassins Creed. (Played it, took a week, and it was over)

I've dreamt of GTA IV (I havent played that. Lolz)

I've dreamt of Spore (I haven't played that)

I've dreamt of GTA IV, mixed with Assassins Creed. (Not long after I got Assassins Creed)

I've dreamt of GTA IV, Spore, Ogame mixed.

I've also dreamt of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion alot.

However, I'll also list some of the games I play/have played for a long time, that I haven't had a dream about.

World of Warcraft (Surprises me)
Team Fortress 2 (Surprises me aswell, since I still actively play it)
Garry's Mod (I wish)
Kingdom Hearts

I like it when my dreams mix multiple games together, making it into one big salad.

I've been obsessed with Dead Rising (finally bought it a few weeks ago) and have been playing it almost every day (excessive, I know. I'm a huge zombie fan). I've been having dreams almost every night for the past 10 days where I am in some way trying to survive a zombie outbreak haha. Just this morning I had a dream that I had to stab Carlito with my laser sword while he was pushing that evil shopping cart at me in the grocery store as I tried to get some orange juice for survivors. I never realized it was a dream, even though I was actually in it, just like in a vivid dream or RL.

I've dreamt about a few other video games, too. Halo and Mario Kart are the only ones I really remember well. I have a dream from when I was like 6 and I was going over one of those mega-ramps in mario kart haha

I've never dreampt about DDR, although I play it often...

I watched my friends play Die Hard and I hsad as dream about being the main Character in it.

Hmmm now I'm very curious about why I've had so many dreams from Dead Rising, but not others... In fact I used to play Ultimate Alliance just to try to have dreams that I was Spiderman (because those are so damn fun, but I can never do it while lucid). All with no results.

I feal it can be a matter in your pscy.

lol if you read my DJ you can find that I got inside a game. I like to play video games in virtual reality while dreaming.

I've had a couple of dreams that involved games that I used to play on my computers. WoW, D2, and Wc3 were some examples. I have them written down in my DJ.
The feeling's usually awkward, because you get placed in a first person kind of view.

Yah, well, that's a long time ago..

I do want to go to some of the places and meet these characters from Klonoa in some Lucid at some point.

Now, if it had been now though, I probably would dream of it, simply because Klonoa 2 was a damn short game. I beat it in one day, the same day I got my PS2, and we had forgotten to get a memory card, so the next day, we bought one and I beat the game again O_o

So I don't think the chances I will dream of Klonoa are that big

If there would just be a Klonoa 3 :'<

i actually had a dream last night that i was in a game. i don't recall exactly what the game was suppose to be about, but it was some sort of rpg game and i was collecting items and leveling up lol. it's weird because i don't normally play those types of games, i use to a little bit but i was never a huge fan. maybe reading about people dreaming about games has something to do with it. i was also surprised that it was in 1st person perspective (i normally dream in 3rd) and i read in another thread that sleeping on your back helps with that for some reason (i mostly sleep on my side, and rarely on my back). either way it worked!

It's strange. Everytime I dream about games (usually strategy or mmorpgs) I am playing it at first, but then I go into a stage where I am a character (myself) IN-game. I become apart of the game world, but I have the knowledge of everything on the map because I am also the player of the game. In some dreams I lose touch with the "player" side of me and become completely independent in the game and it usually becomes a nightmare. :{

I've had a consecutive series of dreams that involved a cast mostly of naruto characters, with battlew oponents from DQVIII and possibly Silent Hill, and I've had a nonconsecutive series of dreams that may have been in the silent hill universe (I figure it was actually some sort of dreamverse that had almost nothing to do with the SH world itself), because it had a similar sky (especially when most of the DCs, except for a couple of information-important NPCs, were gone), and the pig-dog-leopard creatures from SH4. (interesting thing is, I started having these dreams before the original silent hill was released).

I wish i was in the Legend of Zelda universe. That would rock.

At the moment, my dreams are all based around Age of Conan. That means a lot of brutal combat... and it is incredibly fun, though each time I'm always a different character. Last one was with me playing as an Assassin... fun times, fun times...

Wow, its funny because I have dreampt of spore quite a few times, but not any other game I am waiting for. In 1 dream I got the full game, but didnt remember the dream when I woke, then on sports day I suddenly though "Hey I wonder where my friend is, I can tell him I got Spore" then "wtf?" and remembered the dream, pretty wierd. I guess spore is just possesive.

And also... GTA, Spore and Ogame mixed? I'm finding it hard to mix GTA with spore, nevermind Ogame on top. I bet that was a pretty wierd dream.

And yeah when I dream about videogames I'm usually inside the game, or I'm not 'in the game' but I'm not in front of a screen either. I am playing the game but my field of vision is the screen and I dont have the controls in my hands.

If I'm not dreaming about family or friends, I'm usually dreaming about video game characters. Terra Branford from Final Fantasy 6 is by far the most dreamed-about video game DC... that's why she's in my sig.

I've also dreamt of characters from Mario Bros, Mega Man, Star Fox, Zelda, and probably many other things. And if I'm not dreaming of them, I'm dreaming of being in their shoes.

A lot of times I find myself dreaming of playing Super Smash Bros. - it's always some new addition to the series, with new characters, different moves, levels, etc., etc... it's always awesome. It always leaves me thinking "Damn, they should have put that in Brawl!" when I wake up.

When I play too much Tetris, falling tetrominoes creep into my dreams... Likewise, when I play too much Guitar Hero, the fretboard (complete with the colored notes rolling toward me) invades my dreams as well.

Then there are a lot of dreams that play out just like a video game, whether any already-existing video game characters are in the dream or not.

(So if you can't see by now that I'm a video game maniac... go buy some glasses...)

It's funny you should say this. I discovered how to sleep program
and I wrote a 4D Video Game that works via thought

Then go to sleep and you will play his 4D Game Character.

If you are a girl say this out loud before you go to sleep:

"I WISH TO PLAY LEAH ATTAR IN UEBER ALLES"

Then go to sleep and you will play her 4D Game Character.
