Do people think your weird when you talk about dreams?

Hey guys, When you talk to people you know about dreams, Do they think your crazy or something? I've talked about dreams before to people I know and they thought I needed help or thought I was annoying. What are you thoughts of talking to people about dreams?

Lots of people think that dreams are pointless and that there's no use in remembering them, being lucid...

      I'd say half and half.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yeah same with me, I tell people about my dreams and they think I'm crazy. I'd just keep it to my self now until someone tells me about their dreams.

well it depends on who your telling it too, i just wont tell all my friends about it, i have friends who are open-minded, some that are not.. i have some friends that find it annoying if the dream isnt interesting or if im just babbling on an on about my dreams... usually i wont tell a friend about dream unless it was absolutely weird or crazy i just wont be like "yeah i had a dream of petting my dog it was weird" lol who the hell wants to listen to that? you know, i have crazy lucid dreams that my friends find real fascinating though. I feel like the more i talk to my friends about lucid dreaming, that maybe they might experience one then come to me about it, i've had a friend that had one and he was sooo ecstatic now we talk about dreams all the time...

I tend to just talk about my dreams to whomever seems keen on listening. I've found it is an interesting way to bond with people at concerts. Most people think that lucid dreaming is really interesting, and really want to try it. But some people get a bit aprehensive of me when I talk about lucid dreaming (especially older people) because they seem to think it involves some sort of drug activity.

I'm glad I don't tell old people about the dreams I have. I don't like grouchy mean people. They give me dirty looks for stupid reasons.

Most people just get bored. I'm really into content analysis and doing fun statistical stuff with my dreams and as soon as I say 'statistic' people usually run away.

It's also annoying that if you say something like "Oh you were in my dream last night", they automatically think that means that there was something sexual going on. Argh! People annoy me.

Yeah that's messed up. One day I told my friend at school that I had a dream about the girl I had a crush on. He thought It was something sexual that was involved in that dream. I said, What? Heck no! I don't dream stuff like that. Some people can be stupid. They try to twist your words around and try to get you introuble. Sometimes its best to keep your dreams to your self.

I don't just tell random people, but the people I do tell usually don't think it's weird. They then go on to say something about a dream they've had before, so I guess they don't. LDing on the other hand...I use it with caution.

My parents don't like it when I go into DETAIL with my dreams, they want SUMMARIES. They do share theirs now and then, they don't remember them like I do, but theirs are REALLY short, or they make it shorter. I mention that I could go into MUCH more depth then I do .

I don't tell just anyone. ButI will share with my two best friends. They usually just laugh and say I have very weird dreams... but that's okay because I like my weird dreams!

I agree with you there. My parents are the same. They don't want me to get into detail that's going on in my mind. I told my mom about a dream once that her and my dad weren't my parents in the dream. She thought I was making up drama and told me to shut up. I'm like. What the heck?

This is pretty much the case for me unless it's a really wacky and funny dream like my Bear Meat dream. Everyone seems to get a laugh out of that one.

Delivery is key too. Just like with any story, the way it's told can make it or break it.

Most people think it's weird, yeah, but nobody thinks I'm crazy. Whenever I mention lucid dreaming to my mom, though, she seems kinda like.. she wants to ignore it. She's okay with normal dreams, even when I mention I knew that I was dreaming, but whenever I say 'lucid' she gets all spacy.

I would answer an "I don't know" but I just put "No" but I haven't really had any weird reactions from anyone. Whenever dreams gets brought up it's usually an interesting conversation however I try not to talk about it too much because I'm afraid I'll end up being annoying.

No way, man. I come from a family that talks about their dreams all the time. Well, their really extraordinary or bizarre ones, anyway. I also find that if I talk about my dreams with most of my friends, they'll be interested enough to start talking about their own.

      Just lucky? I dunno.

Weird? Oh they think that anyway.

But no, when I start talking about dreams - honestly and attentively - it tends to bring people closer. There might be a little embarrassment on their part to start with, but I find people like the intimacy, if I can call it that, of talking about (and engaging with) dreams.

I think it's easy to get weird about dreams too. Especially if we go round telling our dreams like we're trying to entertain or shock.

There are a few people I know I can talk about dreams too, mostly at my church, but apart from that people think I'm crazy.

I told my brother about a dream that I thought I'd share with him. He said that my dreams are as weird as me.
