Lucid Dream Count: 6
My main motivation is to create an entire world and watch how it works, like a simulation. |
Mine is for the excitement and funness of it. But if I started having them often, I'd definitely try to interact with my subconscious and gain motivation of some sort that can be applied to my real life. |
As for me, the idea of a sandbox is why it appeals to me. I can literally do whatever I please, talk to whoever I want, do whatever I want. It's a self-actualization thing. It would allow me to explore ideas and concepts I'd never be able to do otherwise. My own personal laboratory, kinda thing. |
Out of boredom. I'm kinda looking for something to do atm, as i'm bored by my life (routines, every week being the same, that stuff). Doing anything, anywhere, with anything/anyone every night would probably ease the boredom |
The posibility to explore my mind, while your sleeping your brain is not caring about keeping you alive since you are asleep so I think is more powerfull and In dreams you can work with him the way is supposed to be (: |

Cool thread! Why not make a poll? |

Lucids since starting over May 20th 2014: II
I just want to be able to screw with things minus the consequences. I'm in it purely for the fun, but I wouldn't mind seeing what creative ideas I can get out of it. |
I like the idea of being able to do anything I want. That's what drove me to be here. |
Let's see..The Infinite possibilities, No Consequences and it's all Free! My kind of Fun. |

"A dream is like a pen; it gives you a chance to ponder, draft, sketch, scribble, spark, draw a conclusion and make your mark."
sex. For sure. |
Fly into a black hole? I don't know.. words can't express what I'm going to do. |
I am also motivated by the sandbox aspect of it. Just having the opportunity to live out your desires without consequences sounds amazing. I would also like to gain new insights, understandings, and experiences in the dreamworld so its pretty motivating |
Besides seeing if shared dreaming is actually true. |
i always had lucid dreams, i just never knew that not everyone did. i want to have more control over my lucid dreams |
This is my first post. |
Mostly to "get to know" myself better. To explore my mind. I've been depressed for a few years and suffered from social phobia since childhood, so i'm hoping to find some way to work on that from within my dreams. |
What's my motivation for lucid dreaming? Very simple. It's that incredible unexplainable feeling when you realize you are in another world that looks 100% real, and realizing you are asleep in your bed. That feeling that you are exploring another dimension, and your subconscious at the same time. |
Action, adrenaline, adventure. Exploration and being able to discover new aspects of dreams is also a big motivator for me. |
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

My main motivation is exploring, but I also love just doing fun things that I could never do IWL, like visiting the wonka factory. I also have a lot of spiritual/metaphysical motivations for LDing. |

DV Buddy: BlueKat
It has been quoted "every man wish himself god, good thing it will never happen" it's like becoming god in your own little world. What you say is law. And the really good part is, no matter what you do your not hurting anyone by your decisions, you could blow up planets, rape a million girls a minute, rob 10 billion banks, none of it will do anything to real people. |
For me, wanting to dream lucidly is sort of secondary to wanting to experience (or rather, remember) dreaming in the first place. A bit under a year ago I was really depressed and wanted to.... escape this stupid world. I'd wake up every day and be disappointed that I woke up again. Dreams became more important to me than waking life because I hated my waking life, and dreams were a way to get away from it, for a time. |
