Given that dryspells often occur at random times, does that mean...

...That some people who are new to lucid dreaming, and "just can't seem to become lucid", might simply be going through a dryspell at the most inopportune time? Maybe they are using the proper methods, but just have to wait for that dryspell to pass.

      Thoughts?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Thats a good theory. I think it would be hard to truly call it a dry spell though unless they had been getting steady lucids and then suddenly they stop.

LOL. I went from two LDs a night (and 72.4 posts per day) to one LD every seven months (and one post every six months))

It's possible but I don't think it really matters. As long as they are practicing the proper techniques they will get through quickly enough. Most people give up quickly anyway, lucid dreams or not.

We spend so much time researching how to get lucid, maybe we'd avoid dry spells if we researched what caused them a bit more haha.

Jen was 13 years old. A fairly normal girl. She spent a lot of time online.
One day, she made a new friend. He liked the same bands, worried about the same subjects.
They decided to meet at the local mall. She went. So did he.
Only he wasn't in junior high.

And I don't really believe in dry spells. I think that if you convince yourself you are in a dry spell, it makes it harder for yourself to lucid.

Hmm.. I'm not totally sure about that Puffin. I'm not trying to doubt you because it may be true for some newbies out there, however by the amount of newbies posting on the threads wondering why they can't get lucid makes your statement kind of hard to believe. But that is just my opinion.
