How real can laughter feel in a dream?

So for example, if one were to have a lucid dream, and began laughing, would it feel like real laughter, or would they simply hear themselves laughing? And would it wake them up, or is it possible to laugh without awakening?

I've laughed in a couple lucids, when something weird or unexpected happened. The laughter alone most likely won't end the dream, but if you become too overexcited or enthusiastic, there is a chance that you might wake up. The laughter as I recall was pretty realistic; I felt myself breathe out and felt my ribcage contract, if not a bit less than I'd feel it in real life. It's probably different for everyone though, depending on how much you pay attention to your body.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      No problem.

Till the point where: when I awoke and think of/visualize the situation again, I would just laugh 'cos its too funny.
-and others will just think I'm crazy-
      Goals:
      1. Attacking my enemies instead of running away from them~ Ultimately taking control of my dream situation.
      2. Remember that I can always summon a shield around me to protect myself in dreams. No need to fear!

As said before, it feels like real laughter, I tend to exaggerate sometimes and laugh like crazy, so will wake up with my stomach hurting... then laugh again <.<

I had a dream last night in which I laughed, and it seemed quite realistic. It was one of those group laughs when you're trying to say something but keep laughing instead. So I would say they can be very realistic

I love laughing in dreams, especially since it can come so easy. I have laughed in dreams quite often, and it always feels like real laughter. A few times I have woken myself up laughing, which usually makes me laugh even harder, but generally I stay asleep.

I laugh all the time. It feels pretty normal, to me. All my emotions are enhanced in dreams, so I get into uncontrollable giggle fits pretty easily.

Puffin basically covered it. Any overwhelming emotion (esp. excitement) could wake you up.

I've had a few dreams where I have laughed really hard. Feels like it does in reality, except its far more intense; everything is much funnier, with a logic center that is off or functioning lesser than it would in reality, crap jokes become comedy genius.

Its no different to real life. I come across funny things in LDs all the time and I can hear myself laughing the same way I do in real life.

The only thing that wakes me up without fail in dreams is sexual arousal. I've tried to rape dream characters a few times but woke up every time so nowadays I don't even try to do anything sexual in dreams. There are way more fun things to do such as joyriding cars and rather than waking me up, things that require constant movement and shifting of my attention seem to keep the dream going.

I'll say. Hahaha. I also now save my dreams for proper things because of it.

A few weeks ago I had a dream where I was in a bar, and this guy who went to my highschool was there and he told me a joke (its in my bio of my profile), after hearing it I cracked up hard. It was entirely real, I felt my body laughing as well as my emotions lightening up like they do when you laugh in reality, I woke up to that laughter in my head and couldn't believe it was a dream!
