Anyone else stop using their DJ once they LD regularly?

      Hello Everyone,
I stopped using a dream journal awhile ago. I dont remember my non lucid dreams to often anymore but I already know my dream signs from my past journal. Basically my dreams are filled with any anxiety filled events. So I do ADA and RCs whenever I have anxiety or a weird situation(even just alittle weird), i also use many other method found on this site, but anyways...

Im at a total of 10 LDs but in only about the last month Ive gotten 8 of them. 2 Last night. I dont try it everyday(sometimes when i have an LD im satisfied for alittle while, other times it just makes me want more), but they days I feel focused and keep my mind on it, its almost a guarantee I'll get an LD.

I remember all My LDs perfectly just like waking life (I also read in an old post you remember LDs because that are controlled by the conscience side of your brain).

      - So that leads to my question. Do any LDers remember their LDs as good as I do without a DJ? and...
      - Once you have became a fairly good LDer do you keep using your DJ? If so, why?

I found it very helpful at the beginning to find my dreamsigns but now I find it to be...work.

Yes, there are some people out there that have great recall, yet don't keep a dream journal. It really just depends on the person how good their recall is and different people need to do different things to remember their dreams. It's great you can remember them without a DJ!

Well some people aren't as lucky as you, and need a dream journal to keep remembering their dreams. Other people just like to look back on their dreams and see how they were like, etc. I find it fun to keep a DJ and remember all the dreams I had.

I found that I generally recorded my dreams less often when I became fluent in having lucid dreams. I still made efforts to record the best among them, but not every lucid/non-lucid dream made it in there. Then after a while, I stopped recording most dreams altogether. Recently I started taking down some favourites of my last couple weeks, since I've been having a lot of entertaining/satisfying non-lucid dreams, and one or two lucids.

Generally speaking, I keep it to only those worth mentioning.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I tend to remember my LD's with about the same frequency as I remember my memorable NLDs.

And I keep my journal because dream memories tend to fade over time (as do waking world memories, but usually faster), and I would hate to have completely lost all of the intricate details of the dreams I've had in the past. Even now, a few years after starting my journal, I look back and read amazing dreams that I have nearly forgotten all about.

It's easy to say you remember all of your dreams, at length, when you can't remember what you've forgotten. I love my dream journal, though, and I'll probably be keeping one for the rest of my life. LDing regularly has never been 'the destination' for me. I tend to enjoy the experiences more, which fade away with time, just like any other memory.

I always keep a journal. The length and detail of my entries changes depending on what my goals are. I am currently working on some personal development stuff, so I only write a few impressions, emotions, and key events. When I am looking for design help or inspiration, I try to record every detail. If I think people will be interested in reading it, I will try to give it more of a narrative.

      Thanks for the responses
Is it true that our LDs are controlled by our conscience mind?
It seems the answer is yes.
With that being said I just figured all our lucid dreams were remember as well as real life memories. Which is how it plays out for me, being i remember all my lucids like waking memories and i dont remember my non-lucids very often, maybe a couple a week when i woke to them.
Thats the only reason i asked Why. I didnt think i was alone or a rarity on this, but i guess thats what these forums are for

Only partially. In nearly all situations a ton of information is still generated without conscious intent. We can control what we focus on controlling, but rarely do people report being in control of literally every detail of lucid dreams simultaneously.

I've slacked a lot with DJs, if there is like a specific interesting dream, i will write key ideas down when i wake up from it, if i wake up and only remember fragments i usually write nothing down

Guess I would be the opposite, first became good at LDing and THEN started writting a DJ, why? Because former DV members Shift and Delphinus asked me to, then kept with it because... I don't know <.<
