Anyone ever had a successful reality check only to say screw it and ..

I was in a bad dream this morning, then when I saw the theatrical bloody limbs around my room I did a RC only to realize I am dreaming, but too annoyed and tired from running around in my long dream, that I crawled into my dream bed. And woke up !
So annoying, I've been trying to lucid for 3 weeks now. Ughhhhh.

Well, I'm probably not the best person to give advice since I've not had a lucid dream, but since you have complete control over your dream once you realize your dreaming, coludn't you just tell yourself your not tired and your relaxed.

So you've been trying to get lucid for 3 weeks, and finally got it, then did nothing when you got a succesful RC? Why?

I've totally done reality checks, realized I was dreaming and decided to just stay in the dream and see how it played out because things were going so well.

yeah that happened to me. I said "I might as well just wake up..." and did so.
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

This happens sometimes during nightmares or when I have partial control/awareness. I remember once I had gotten lucid during a nightmare and, for some reason, I just woke myself up... into a FA of the same dream. Did this 2 more times (3 total) and on the final one I decided to do something different. I'm not sure why I didn't just go off and do my own thing right away but it happens every once in a while.
Have a question? Send me a pm.

Hm, I don't know if this is what you are talking about but this happened to me like last week:

I had woken up in my bed, but I was in a dream. I tried to WILD in my dream. It worked, but I woke up back into the dream. I did a reality check and I became lucid for a few moments. I then had a false awakening. I knew I was still dreaming because I was in my old bed. But I thought "Screw it, I'm tired" and went back to bed >_> Woke up the next morning. -sigh-

Boy, the logic you have in your dreams you know?

kel, you have had hundreds of LDs over the time you have been ffollowing this hobby. It is like sex as far as it not being as important to you, after you have done it hundreds of times. I'm not suprised by your choice in the dream. Often when I LD, I can't figure out exactly where my real life stands, as far as what year it is or where I fell asleep. In the dream, it was just another LD, and it would be so easy to not remember you are currently having a dry spell.
I know when I used to have bad dreams (99%+ are good now) if I was angry or scared and became lucid, my first thought was 'I want to wake up.'
I'm not sure I have ever chose not to start an LD, but many times after awhile, I may decide to stop stablizing and let myself wake up, either because I am brain tired, or I have to pee, or I have been in bbed over 10 hours and feel guilty.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Yes, the dream was interesting, so I didn't want to manipulate it directly when I realized I was dreaming, and was able to "let go".
