      I'm completely failing

I am completely failing in lucid dreams. I have only had around 20 lucid dreams that we're each less than 3 minutes. I rarely remember any dreams. And no matter how many times I try to wild I NEVER works. ive had a super positive attitude about it up until now. But I need some super tips. I want an easy to follow guide on how to meditate please. I also want a straight forward guide for WILD if that's not too hard. And I want just any tips like food s to eat or a good technique for mantras. This would all really be appreciated thank you!

http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/mind-a...utorial-42271/ For a tutorial up to SP. Once you get to that stage you just have to find the right balance between consciousness and unconsciousness which you can't really teach. You could try using a certain anchor such as breathing or counting, or you could just try and maintain consciousness without having to worry about keeping your mind on one certain thing. Then before you know it, you'll be in a dream!

As for the meditation guide, meditation is whatever you make of it. Some people clear the mind and cross their legs and do what we all think of whenever somebody says meditation, while some just let things flutter about in their mind. For you I would suggest just calming yourself, slowing down your body and mind, and thinking about generic lucid dreaming. Think about what you want to do when you have lucid dreams, what you already have done, and just calm, happy thoughts. This can also be used to deal with any problems you may be having in your waking life and just as a nice relaxation tool for stress.

Other then that all I can really tell you is to keep at it. You've already have a fair amount of lucid dreams so you're not having any issues there and the length of them is actually pretty normal. After nearly 100 LDs mine are still only about 5 minutes. Some longer (up to like 15 minutes), some shorter (only a couple seconds). Just remember that if you have a negative mindset then it will adversely affect you progress so try to stay positive. This is where meditation really helps

Let me throw some non-herbal advice in. Maybe study memorization when awake? Advance your mind. Read books (not Kindles or IPADS...actually soft cover books). Check out old theater style plays from your library like "One Acts" or Shakespeare plays....and memorize them as if you were planning on acting in it. Work on number memorization or spelling-bee style memorizaton (I had to do those every week in Elementary school for probably five of the six years I was in grade school; memorized like ten or more hard words for a test at weeks end). Key is to work on memorizing and remember along with alertness. Song lyrics. This might help when you’re sleeping. I remember most of my dreams at night very clear. At least two or more per night that I can remember some of them for weeks. But I have a photo genetic memory where I can look at lines on a paper like a speech and have a memorized after one or two readings. My mom is the same way. Maybe its genetics but when I think about it as a kid and teenager in school I did a lot of the above mentioned. Studying for spelling tests every week. Number tests…having to memorize stuff for English class or Science. Reading a lot of books. This was all before the era of Internet (1980s/90s). I would read an article and focus on it..let it repeat in my mind. It might be harder I f you’re young because your mind is still developing. Stuff like video games that are played for more than one hour a night might have something to do with your lack of dream focus. Try daydreaming. Close your eyes at home and daydream about something…like you want to do in a lucid dream….and think open your eyes and think about it…memorize it. This all might help in remembering your dreams. People say “I never dream” but that’s not true. We can dream several dreams a night. We should be able to remember two or more of them…sometimes we have that one big vivid dream that removes them all out. In the old business school days of the 1930s they would train secretarys short hand. When the boss gave a letter to write out by verbal or had to take notes in a big meeting…these secretarys didn’t write down every single word…they wouldn’t be able o keep up. So they learned what is called (and almost a dead art) “shorthand” writing. So keep your journal near by and when you do dream write down that dream with shorthand like “Swimming, lake, house, John there, flew to China, punished billy in the stomach” to remember it by.

Any form of Lucid Dream is a success. A full form Lucid, a semi-lucid, or a dream that's very vivid and real even though you might not had conscious control over it.

      Hope that helps a bit.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

Could this be the problem? How do you know you don't have LDs? Maybe you just don't remember them. And BTW, 20 is not a failiure. Even 1 is not a failiure. I bet your practice just needs a little tweaking. And sorry to say, there are no "magic bullets". Just reading tutorials, practicing, having positive attitude.

      1. Very first thing you need to realize, that you have not failed. We all have our ups and downs. You are great at lucid dreaming, but it will not matter, if you don't believe it yourself. I know it's hard to keep positive at times like this. Give yourself a few days break. Tell yourself you are taking a break to perfect your technique. Read or re-read tutorials. Check out classes in DV Wiki. They are a long read, but if those will not get you fired up, nothing will.

      2. First thing you should work on is getting your dream recall up to par. Start a DJ and write in it everything. More about DJ and other stuff for DILD.

      3. Make a plan of what you will do in LD. Write it down, daydream about it, play it out. Get some great inspiration in treads like "1000 things to do in LD".

      4. Practice and believe in yourself. WILD is not easy, but you can try. Practice for DILD as a back up. Explore DEILD, SSILD, WBTB.
We all believe in you, you can do it

      Happy dreams

Well if you "Only" have had 20 dreams lasting for about 3 mins or less i congratulate you.
Ive had one. For 20 seconds.

I have some tips for you, indeed.

1 DO NOT think lucid dreaming is impossible or hard as everyone is able to dream.

2 Find the technique that fits you best.
If youre having a hard time with WILD, just do WBTB! i guarantee you its worth trying!

3 Be happy about small successes. Every little step gets you closer.

4 I suggest listening to the Mahamritunjaya Mantra , you can find it on youtube. (its not a LD mantra like "i will dream")
Meditate to that , you wont need a meditation method.

i like to say learning by doing!

dont give up and good luck with Lucidity.
