My lucid dreams- I NEVER leave the freaking room :)

So, every one of my lucid dreams starts in the same place, my bedroom or my living room. And allthough I can stay lucid for up to 30 (real life) minutes, I never leave the room. I am so afraid what is beyond that door, that I dont have the guts to even touch the door handle, so going outside would be a nightmare. I always assume that beyond that doors are monsters, dark, something bad and evil. Because I have read that what you fear and imagine is what you get, how can I help myself to go see on the "other side"?

      Thanks

Try to convince yourself that "I have control over whats behind that door."
You'll really have to try, but you should be able to create anything.
You will only have a bad experience if you convince yourself that that's what your going to get. Remember, it's your dream, you have control. Use that to your advantage.
      Good luck mate

      What harrisanderson said.

You might want to try visualisation of what is beyond that door as well. When you see that there is nothing to be scared of (in meditation-visualisation) you can then open that door in dreamland.

one thing I realized in lucid dreams is that, control is nowhere near the same as daydream control. in dreams, absolute control requires a lot of energy, I mean you REALLY have to focus on making something appear or change because, in dreams the things you experience are more concrete. in day dreams, I could summon a giant beetle as soon as I think it but of course thoughts are nowhere near as concrete so the imagery will leave as fast as it came.

      What the others said ^^

You could also try making it a glass door, so you can see what's on the other side. If you like what you see, go out. If you don't, change it with your mind (and in the safety of your room). Either way, the sooner you realize that nothing in dreams can harm you, the sooner you can get over your fear and do the most awesome stuff beyond the door!

      Good luck. :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The worst thing that can happen to you is you wake up and realize you wasted a lucid dream.

90% of my lucids start in my bedroom, especially from WILDs. Best thing is to go around looking for doors or secret passages, once I found a door in my closet that led me into a giant canyon. Also you could turn on the tv and find an interesting channel and jump in.

Also something you may have overlooked, there are fun things to do in your house, personally I like to check out the fridge and eat/drink whatever is in there.

You just need to like start doing pushups and crap, situps, get so freaking powerful and summon things, whenever you are in a lucid dream in a room you need to just do training to become super powerful. Then when you finally do, BLOW THE DOOR OPEN AND GIVE EM HELL! you know what I'm saying?
alright, you can do all that, but what I honestly advise you to is just start swinging at everything on the other side of the door. Even if they can beat you the monsters are so terrified at your fury that they run off like little girls.
Who cares what's on the other side of the door when you have more fury then it right?

Try going out the window if that makes you more comfortable, try to call someone or something you trust to go out with you. Most importantly realize that your fear is just baggage, nothing will hurt you, you're the boss.

If it's just beyond what is in this specific door, perhaps you should try visualizing another door behind you so when you turn around you can walk through it to the outside world. Perhaps you should pre-plan this in your head and actually think about what is beyond this new door before you try to lucid so that when you become lucid and see this door you know exactly what to expect. You could create whole worlds beyond this door, just think about the possibilities.

Read my thread on how to change your dream scene. Visualize someplace happy and amazing that you want to go. Convince yourself that there's nothing scary outside of your room.

Remember that if you expect it to be scary, it will be. And you are lucid! You're in control! If something scary comes up just tell it to go away! Be confident! Good luck!
