191 views and *only 6 votes?* I guess I'm spinning my wheels on this idea. Thank you to those that have voted though. |

I think it is a cool idea, fogelbise. If we yearly met up at a dream conference somewhere (preferably within US but if international, ok), I would try to be there. |

That would be interesting. Wasn't there also a Lucid Dreaming festival somewhere? I can't recall where it was..... but there were quite a lot of people meeting each other there. So something like this might be very good |

Good idea |

I would love to meet up with fellow dreamers, but I'm all the way in Australia. |
@Dreamer Lol...perhaps you can wear a wig. I would love to meet you. |

It might just be that people are more comfortable communicating from a distance and/or in writing. I imagine it could be quite nerve-racking to go to an unfamiliar place with people you've never met, especially by yourself. |
@Dreamer that is a good point. That definitely could be the reason and I would just hope that anyone feeling that way would realize that we are all in the same boat heading into the unknown. |
This is an excellent idea, Fogelbise. I've attended 3 of Stephen LaBerge's Dreaming & Awakening retreats, and by far the most interesting -- and fulfilling -- aspect of my time there was face time with fellow dreamers, and an opportunity to have discussions about LD'ing that simply cannot be had in an online format... also, at the time I was moderating LaBerge's website forum, and it was a hoot meeting the people driving all those posts... |
I have talked to many people, but very few people live in the midwest, much less Kansas. :/ I would be willing to drive up to 25 miles of my city if someone else wanted to drive the rest of the way. |
I'm in the midwest too. maybe a general location poll would be good to have as well |

Sageous, you showing would be awesome! I was thinking of something on the casual side of things like meeting an old friends over lunch. I see some pros and cons of something more structured. What do you think? |
How about casual with an agenda? |
Haha, yeah. Maybe something in the last 70 years. |

Charlie Morley has his lucid dreaming USA tour coming up in 2015. IASD also has its conference in Virginia this summer. If we wanted structure, we could attend one of these events, participate in activities that seemed agreeable, and meet up for dinners for discussion. Just brainstorming. If I were to fly somewhere, though, I would want to hang out with other dreamers for more than a day. It would also be nice to meet you all within the context of some dream event, so we all are on topic |

Even if we're not able to meet personally, maybe we should have a sort of "group chat" online. For example, on Skype. We could have a set number of people joining the session. Once everyone's in (the set number), we start Skyping (or however you may want to do it). I think this may serve as a good pre-requisite, for lack of a better term, to see how motivated we are to actually want to meet each other for real. Anyway, just a thought |

I am pretty surprised at the lack of enthusiasm for this. Not being able to share LDs with others sharing this common interest has been one of my biggest frustrations. |
Yeah...the responses have been more encouraging lately. Even a mention of meeting lucid dreamers in person in Sensei's recent podcast (his podcasts are recommended listening...see his signature). |
sounds like a real great idea. |
