How do you structure your lucid dreaming practice?

      Hello,

I was wondering how you all create a structure for this hobby of ours?

I think that the fact that the fruits of this hobby are somewhat "intangible" (for others, that is), and that it is a solitary hobby makes it harder to structure than other hobbies. How do you get around that? (But my question is mostly the first one.)

By structuring lucid dreaming practice, do you mean forming lucid dream practice routines? I form my lucid dreaming practice routines based on trial and error. I call my lucid dreaming practice routine at any given time my "game plan".

Here's my game plan for tonight:
1a.Go to bed 1b.Tell myself my dream goal (be a dolphin) 2a.Relentlessly repeat a mantra in between breaths while trying to keep my mind clear 2b.Try to remember to do an RC anytime I catch myself forgetting to repeat my mantra. 3.Record whether I had a non-lucid or lucid dream using this routine in my journal. 4.Repeat 1-3 until the night is over.

      LD induction game plan:
      Dream Goal
      Mantra
      Dream
      RC
      Record
      Repeat

Then I have a dream control routine which I structure the same way.

My game plan for dream control tonight is to say to the dream "I want to be a dolphin". If that doesn't work I'll try visualizing being a dolphin. If that doesn't work, I'll summon a lamp, rub it to summon a genie and tell it I want to be dolphin. If that doesn't work, I go exploring.

      Game plan for dream control:
Command or visualization or genie or explore

I would have a stabilization game plan as well but I'm stumped as far as stabilization is concerned so I don't have any idea what will work for me.

      Stabilization game plan:
      Hope for the best?

I don't ..... Though I could create structure by having a journal next to my bed and writing stuff down when I wake up. And also do WBTBs. Oh and if you are pretty good at lucid dreaming, you could set a certain period and focus on a certain thing, like 2 weeks for sword fighting practice or breathing fire, or if you want to practice transformation you could transform into easy things (like growing some fingers or getting bigger) and doing each transformations 2-3 times before moving on to another.

Asking the question, I was thinking more of on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis but I'm not too sure how to answer that one. Your answers are good, I guess it makes more sense to have a daily game plan. But I guess, Ginsan did answer on a long-term basis by incorporating long term goals.

(The beast of old, what is a dream bag?)

      Here's mine:
      Throughout the day:
      - Reflect on last night's dreams
      - Play with attention (shifting, expanding, visualizing)
      - Practice lucid dreaming behavior (part of visualizing)

      Going to sleep
      - mantra: memory in dream, memory of dream

      Waking up
      Write dreams in dream journal

      Every season:

I read a lot about lucid dreams and have a few goals I want to do or try. I do WBTB plus MILD about 3 times a week on days off and take galantamine 2x a week. I also keep a dream journal. I have approx 2 LDs per week with this routine.
