Thread: Have you ever seen someone do a reality check?

I would shout out Steven La Berge you're having a lucid dream...and then procede to walk on all fours and bark like a human.

If I saw someone RCing, I'd go, "so, are you dreaming?"

I've never even thought of looking for other people doing RCs

I always try to do them so noone notices, might look weird if I look like taking a sniff of my fingers or putting my fingers through my hand

I never thought of that. No, I haven't. I do the nose RC usually, which isn't terribly noticable, so I hadn't really considered seeing someone else perform one in public.

I've never seen someone else but my friends catch me all the time.

It's always like "Goddamn it Zac you're not freakin dreaming".

I do it very blatantly. I won't let strangers reduce my chances of lucid dreams, and it would be awesome for someone to call me out on it who actually knows about lucid dreaming
My sister and mom also LD so we're always seeing each other do reality checks.
If I saw someone doing it I'd either salute, or ask them what they are planning to do if it is a dream

I'd make like Lobby-Donut and play mind games with them. XD

I'd then ask how long they've been doing it, and probably refer them to Dreamviews.

One time I saw a guy poke his right index finger in his left palm and then hold his nose. We were the only two there so I approached him and said:

"You think this is a dream?"

He replied by asking

"This is a dream!?"

Then in typical DC fashion I obnoxiously answered:

"I don't know, this is your dream after all."

Needless to say he got pretty excited, but then I told him he's still in reality and we went on our ways.

definatly play mind games, that would be the best, maybe i would tell him i was going to fight him kung foo style and then when he starts trying to do kung foo i would just laugh and tell him he isnt dreaming, then he would just look retarded

Wow that is pretty awesome that you actually saw another LDer. Hahahha I'd probably be too scared to actually approach them. But maybe not if I knew them vaguely.

Sorry guys, but if someone DID catch you doing a RC there is something wrong with you (as the above story illustrates ). I mean none of the methods need to be done in a way that is noticeable

Even if your doing the push your finger in your hand one, you should be able to do it without someone actually noticing

I've always kind of imagined that's how I meet the girl of my dreams. I'm out in a public place, something freaky happens, I do a reality check and see a hot girl doing one as well, we see each other...

I was at the gym the other day, and a lady was staring at me, obviously confused, while I did my hand RC. I just gave her a wink and no explanation.

Never seen someone doing it, but if I does... I will do this:
hey I'm your DG and your in a FA, so go and control your dream.

Why should you have to do them secretly? I think there is something wrong with you stating that. There is no right or wrong way to conduct a reality check. I stop everything I am doing and concentrate only on my RCs, not on making sure that other people can't see what I'm doing. That way I take on an open and honest attitude about it, and I won't lose a lucid one day by paying too much attention to keeping something secret instead of focusing on an RC.

If I'm lucky, someone will ask me and I'll meet a new interesting person.

Oh god this thread is making me lol so hard...

This may be a little off topic, but it's really damn funny. My girlfriend used to always do that "omg your not freaking dreaming!" thing every time I did a reality check. In fact she did it so much that we ended up getting in a huge fight over it. See. . . she didnt understand that i had been missing out on countless LD's, because every time in my dreams, I would realize I was dreaming, and she would pop up and make fun of me and I would get dissapointed thinking it was reality and go un-lucid. Lol anyone else ever experienced this?
