But that's not true Majestic. You realise how easy it is to verify whether or not the planets will align on that date? And you realise they're not going to?

I don't understand how or why you would believe this. Please try to learn scepticism as just a natural reaction to anybody making a claim.

I wanna know how stone pyramids can act like particle accelerators.

Xei, the video actually clarifies this, though there's still a little difficulty in communication the guy does eventually clarify it's not a "planetary alignment" it's an alignment between the earth, sun and center of the galaxy, and there's also an alignment regarding Venus.

Blueline, there's a video series called Magical Egypt. You can take it with a grain of salt if you like but there is some amount of evidence that ancient structures served more practical purposes. Granted "particle accelerator" sounds a tad bit inaccurate, to speak forgivingly.

I dont know much about the science part, but I do know what higher vibrational energy/spiritual bliss feels like

Its something this world desperately needs.

Like i said we'll see when the 21st-23rd gets here..if nothing happens then life will go on and thats the end of that if something does happen then an explosion in peace and technology sounds good to me...

You think you're thinking positively, but really, if you are so keen to believe that the world's problems will be washed away by magic on a certain date, doesn't that make you far less likely to be proactive and take any real action to solve these problems yourself?

I doubt anything will change, but I hope it happens. I thought it was supposed to be longer than 8 minutes. What about the people sleeping in China?

Well, since during those 8 minutes the earth will get blasted with a surge of higher consciousness energy, I'd assume they'd all be lucid dreaming. Or they'd wake up. Duh.

Any debate concerning the pyramids and particle accelerators is just discussing semantics imo.
We're not sure what we are capable of doing with our machines such as the particle accelerators
And we certainly don't know why the Mayans build their monuments or why they perfomed 'sacred' rituals around them

Whatever happens to our generation in the near future,
Who knows..

Actually, there is a real science based argument involving the pyramids and generating/accelerating/channeling energy, which ever word makes you happier. Im half awake and too lazy to be accurate.

Researchers have even duplicated the effects of the pyramid with small scale models. Its a combination of the shape and the materials used, thats it! Its better to watch a documentary on it, you can find it on netflix even. I think its called Mystery of the Pyramids, should be a mini-series.

The energetic effects of the pyramids is actually measurable. But research could only go so far because of the deteriorated state of the pyramids. They believe the energetic effects of the pyramid would have been greater with the capstone and the outer layer intact.

A modern day digital technology trying to achieve the same thing would be bin. beats. But I'm only aware of the egyptian pyramids having this kind of effect.

As far 2012, some of these Mayan elders say it'll happen immediately. Others say the shift actually happens in the span of years and only appears instant in the grand scheme of time. Another important thing to understand, this "alignment" happens every year. The ancient mayans would have known this. What makes this year special though is that it marks the end and beginning of a long 26000 year cycle.

I think its dangerous to imagine an outer event will drastically change your life for the better. If 2012 is remembered as a year of great change, its because we were pissed that nothing happened and we realized we had to make it happen.

Why does everybody refer to fucking documentaries when they try to support their claims? Link me to some papers instead of some probably really dramatic and sensationalist documentary.

Because most of the people who do so are idiots who don't understand science, and don't understand that documentaries tend to simply things, include sensationalist claims, and otherwise get stuff wrong.

There are also books but those cost money.

How am I supposed to find a scholarly article, though? I'm not going to finger through pages and pages of new age websites to find a source that meets your approval. If you have a better suggestion, shoot.

What do you expect? If somebody is going to claim that the pyramids are fucking particle accelerators, it's not a shock that someone should demand to see rigorous evidence, it's a shock that somebody either 1) wouldn't, or 2) would refer to slipshod documentaries and websites.

Scholarly articles can be easily searched via Google. Even if one can only read the abstract of a paper (some journals require subscriptions, even online, and thus only display the abstract), at least we can figure out 1) what people were testing for, 2) how they did it, and 3) what they found. And we can know that people are actually looking into such matters. This isn't just about meeting my approval -- why don't you up your standards?

That New Dawn Magazine article was just weird. Aside from the red flags (website subtitle says something about ancient wisdom and the About page mentions that along with "higher consciousness"), the article just droned on about how the pyramids could be massive water pumps. Then the author hypothesizes that they're giant resonance chambers or something used for agricultural growth. What?

Quick google search (plus Google Scholar) turns up nothing serious on the claims that they're water pumps, or power stations, or anything like that. Nevermind the main issue about them being, you know, these things:
